Group of Seven December Torn Edge Technique

Be sure and check out the Group of Seven Link above for all the awesome
samples by the Group of Seven Cardmakers.

Videos:
1)  Torn ripped card stock into beautiful cards by Simon Hurley (14:35)
2)  Torn Stenciling Technique by Gina K (5:11)
3)  Ripped Paper Technique by Natasha Foote (12:24)

I used Simon's Video for my "It's Your Day card" and
Natasha's Video for my "Happy Birthday card."

All 3 video's are great and show you numerous techniques with several examples:-)

****************************

My 1st Card using Simon Hurley's Video using Torn Ripped Masking Tape
into Card Technique.
Video Starts at 10:45 for this card technique.

I used ripped 3M Wide Masking Tape over the 110# Arches Hot Press Paper.
Then used Simon's technique to blend the DOX inks using TH Blending Sponge.
Used DOX inks: Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire.
And then removed the torn edges masking tap...Wow!!

Next I stamped SU Retired Sale-a-Bration stamp set: "Flowering Fields" for the 1st time
using VersaFine Clair Nocturno Pigment ink.
The sweet tiny butterflies are part of the set.  I used Derwent Watercolour pencils on
the butterflies and Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle, which shows up IRL:-)

Used MISTI to stamp the sentiment with black pigment ink.
The sentiment is a SU retired Hostess set.."Happiest Birthday Wishes".

Popped up the card front with craft foam and added to Neenah cardbase and
Done!  I really liked the Torn Edge Technique and will use again:-)

**********************

My 2nd card using Natasha's Ripped Paper Technique with watercolors and vellum.

The close up!

Here is the close up showing off the Shine from the heat embossed stamped
sentiment and the pretty shiny Gansai Tambi metallic Gem Colors Pigment Watercolors.

I used #4 watercolor brush and all 6 colors from the set..Red, Pink, Yellow Gold, Green,
Blue and Violet:-)  When completely dry (I used heat tool) I placed in
MISTI and stamped the Retired Hostess SU "Happiest Birthday Wishes" set using
Clear Versa Mark ink and Heat Embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White Regular
Powder.  Such beautiful shine on the sentiment and watercolored Gem colors:-)

I then added my torn vellum and Arches Hot Press using foam tape to pop them up.
I closely followed Natasha's video and her 1st ripped card technique.

I loved both cards,  but this is my favorite.
A great way to use different watercolor products, which I have:-)

I hope you join us on our Group of Seven Linky:-)

Merry Christmas and Happy Healthy New Year dear friends.
Love and Hugs..

Stencil Metallic Watercoloring on Black MM Paper

I am Hooked on Metallic Watercoloring on Black MM Paper
because of my dear creative friends Lolly and Bonnie!
Click on their links to view their Gorgeous Metallic painting on Black MM cards💖

Of course...I had to create my own version...Instead of stamping an image on
the black Strathmore Mixed Media paper I die cut The Greetery
"Leaves All Around" image to paint!

I was pleased that the photo showed the shine on the left die cut leaves
and the darker colors on the right die cut leaves.
It is not easy to take photos of metallics!
The shine really shows up on the Gansai Gem metallic pan watercolors:-)

I attached the die cut leaves to my Brutos Munroe Sticky Mat and placed the
#1 "Leaves All Around" Stencil over the die,  which stuck nicely to the mat.
Then I used a #1 paint brush to paint carefully thru the stencil.

Next I did the same with the #2 and #3 Leaves all Around Stencils:-)
After done,  I let the paint dry thoroughly then used Altenew " Silver Gel Pen"
to trace around the edges of the leaves using the #1 and #2 Stencils.

Removed the #2 stencil and was very pleased with my metallic watercoloring:-)
I did die cut another black mm paper layer to use to pop up my leaves.

Next watercolored a scrap of white mm paper with the Gem Red paint and die cut the
Joyful sentiment from the CUTplorations Christmas Sentiments Die set."
Did a little surgery as the "Joy" fit better. I die cut a 2nd Joy with the Black MM paper
and attached to pop up the sentiment.

I used Altenew "Fine Frames Cover Die" to frame my image, which
worked out perfectly!  I attached the leaves and Joy with Connect glue.

Next attached my card front to SU Basic White 110# A2 Cardbase and Done!
Thank you Lolly and Bonnie for always inspiring me to try New Techniques😍

Now my head is spinning with more ideas:-)
This was my 1st time to use The Greetery "Leaves All Around" Die set and 3 in 1
Stencil set.  A big thank you to my dear friend that gifted me this wonderful set:-)

We are quickly turning from Fall weather to a wet early Winter season:-)
Which means...I have more time for crafting:-)  We had one of our best ever veggie/
berry garden this year,  so I have been on overload harvesting and putting
up delicious, beautiful fresh Organic produce for the year😍

Love and Hugs to all my dear friends...I so appreciate your visits!

Then heat embossed with Wow White EB Powder for the
Watercolor Wash Emboss Resist Technique by Debbie Hughes

Then the fun began using Gansai Tambi "Gem" Watercolors with #6 and #2 Princeton
paint brushes.  I let the paint dry between layers until I got the final effect I wanted.

The colors are beautiful and very shiny in the natural light.
I used Gem Colors: Blue, Green and Yellow Gold.

the main image.  Next stamped in MISTI
the Altenew "Leaf Canopy" sentiment and added a punched Yellow Gold heart.

post with wonderful CAS cards by our talented Design Team.
Beautiful and creative cards in our followers gallery too:-)

Thank you Linda for hosting this fun challenge:-)

I was inspired by my CAS Mix Up Teamie Bonnie's launch beauty!

Here is my Bird Hello card that I LOVE!!  Hope you do too:-)

Here is a photo of all the shine from the Gansai Tambi metallic Gem Watercolors:-)
It is like having 2 different watercolored cards:-)

I began by using Altenew "Bold Floral Drape" 3D EB Folder
to dry emboss the flowers on SU Basic White 100# CS.

I then trimmed the EB flowers and began using the retired SU
Bird Builder Punch.  I punched out the branch, bird and wings 4 times and
stacked using Connect Glue.

Then the fun...using #2 paint brush to watercolor with the Gem Colors:
Yellow Gold for center of flowers and top of bird head.
Green for branch,  Blue for breast and mixed Red, Yellow and Blue to
create a brown tone for the rest of the bird and wings.
Added eye with black marker.
Loved how my bird turned out.  A bit time consuming,  but well worth it!

Attached branch with Connect Glue. Then popped up bird with SU mini
dimensionals and set aside.  Added SU Basic Black narrow frame.
Added bird and attached to SU Basic White 100# Card Base.

Added stamped Altenew "Label Love" Hello sentiment and glued onto image
and Done!  I was so pleased with my Thing with Wings card:-)
Taking the photos was the hardest part,  but I just had to share the shine:-)

You still have until the 24th to play along.

Love and Hugs..

My Tim Holtz Poinsettia Layering Stencil using Golden
Glass Bead Glitter Gel...Gorgeous Shine!

I placed the Tim Holtz Poinsettia Layering Stencil over Canson Cold Press 140# paper
and attached with low tack purple masking tape.

Then the fun began...adding Golden Glass Bead Glitter Gel using a palette knife.
Wow...the glitter and shine is Stunning!

I let it dry over night.  Then trimmed the piece and added Gansai Tambi Gem Color
Yellow Gold to the flowers and painted the edges of a layer of SU Basic White 100#
cardstock to slip under the main image.

Stamped and heat embossed the Penny Black Holiday Snippets sentiment over a scrap
of more Yellow Gold painted cardstock.
Attached using Connect Glue.

Attached main image to SU Basic White 100# Card Base and Done!

I loved the results and happy to add to my Christmas stash:-)

****************

Since I had all my supplies out I stenciled another poinsettia card front using Strathmore
Mixed Media Tan 184lb paper.

I loved how the Golden Glass Bead Glitter Gel made the glittery poinsettias
look more tannish golden on the tan paper and on the white cardstock on the card above the
poinsettias were white:-)

I finished the 2nd card with Gamsai Gem Yellow Gold paints..just like the 1st card.
Added SU Real red cardstock for a very different look and added the same sentiment.

Two quick cards after designing and creating the Gel stenciled snowflakes!

CAS Mix Up (S) Paste/Gel Challenge

All our CAS Girls are looking forward to starting up our CAS Challenges again.
Our June CAS Mix Up Stencil Challenge hosted by our wonderfully creative
Loll (Stamping with Loll) is using Pastes/Gels through our Stencils!

You will be inspired by beautiful and creative textures created by our incredibly
talented Design Team and our Two Guest Designers...
The very talented Jules (Crafted by Jules) and the amazing Darnell (djkardkreations).

I used Dream Weaver Regular Paste thru my
ARTplorations Roses Stencil.

I attached the ARTplorations Roses Stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and
secured with masking tape.  Then used a palette knife to spread the
Dream Weaver Regular Paste over the stencil.

Then removed the stencil and washed immediately in warm soapy water.
Then let the paste dry overnight.

Next I used Gansai Tambi Gem Colors Watercolor paints and painted the roses using
#2 and #3 paint brushes.  Adding several layers until I was happy with the results.
The paints leave a beautiful shine..especially the Yellow Gold.
I also used the pink and green Gem colors and let dry.

Next die cut the image with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle and used MISTI to
stamp the Penny Black "Happy Snippets" sentiment with Versafine Black ink
and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder.

Popped up the main image with craft foam onto MM paper and card base
and Done.  I was very happy with the pretty textures and colors.

This card went to my dear friend Daisy who loves flowers and
celebrated her 93rd Birthday recently:-)  She loved the textured flower.
