CAS Mix Up Stencil Gesso Challenge Reminder

Time for our CAS Mix Up Stencil Gesso Challenge Reminder . You are going to LOVE all the creative and beautiful CAS Gesso stenciled cards by our talented design team!
Thank you Hilary for a fun and creative challenge!

Beautiful cards in our gallery by our talented followers too😄

Here are awesome Gesso tutorial Videos chosen by Hilary

Video Tutorials:
Creative Ways to Use Gesso by Tiffany Sorlario (7:04)
Distress Oxide Gesso Resist with a Twist by Gerry van der Velden (11:35)
Gesso Resist by Kim Schofield (6:11)
Gesso Resist Background by Eileen Godwin (31:02)
Lavinia Stamps and A Gesso Resist by Eileen Godwin (first 12 minutes)

My Reminder Gesso card.  I had so much fun with this technique.

I am Loving Hilary's CAS Mix Up Stenciling with Gesso Challenge:-)
Thank you again Hilary for such a fun and easy technique.
I will definitely be using this Emboss Resist Gesso technique again!

I used ARTplorations "Bold Florals Slimline Stencil" for the Gesso technique.
I used masking tape to tape the stencil onto Fabriano 140# Cold Press watercolor paper.
Then used the same Emboss Resist technique that I used on my Gesso Launch Card.
I was again inspired by Eileen Godwin's Video.

Added a little Golden's Gesso white acrylic paint onto my glass mat.
Then used TH Sponge to add a thin amount of the Gesso thru the stencil,
using Eileen's technique.  That gave me smooth white flower petals. Let dry.
Removed and washed the stencil immediately in warm soapy water.

Next replaced stencil and used Altenew Mini Blending Brushes to add Distress Oxide
Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick and Shaded Lilac and removed stencil.

Tip: I could not wipe off all the stray inks from the Gesso flower petals so I replaced the stencil and added another thin layer of Gesso, which took care of ALL the stray
inks on the white petals!

Next die cut the image with Memory Box Circle Stitched Die and die cut a
2nd larger circle from SU Basic White 110# Cardstock.

Popped up main image with craft foam and attached with Connect Glue to the
white larger circle.  Attached main image circles to SU So Saffron card base.

Added die cut CUTplorations "Smile" that is double layered for extra thickness
and added stamped with Archival Jet Black ink  Altenew "Label Love" Hello and Done!

I loved how this card Pops and the bright White flower petals and die cut Smile
against the bright yellow card base.  Hope you do too:-)

You still have until the 24th to play along.  Such a fun and easy Gesso Technique.

Love and Hugs,

CAS Christmas Card Challenge Wreath

I am joining in the June 2022 CAS Christmas Card Challenge: Wreath!

I am so happy to be joining the CAS Christmas Card Challenge again.
After a break the awesome challenge is open again💕

I used ARTplorations Wreath Stencil,
SU Sizzix Brick Wall 3D Stencil and CUTplorations Christmas Sentiments Die.

I am looking forward to all the amazing and inspiring CAS Christmas Cards by the
fabulous DT and their Guest Designer Sue (Sue's Card Craft).

I used the SU Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder for my background.

Next placed my NBUS Brutus "Stick and Stamp Mat" from SSS onto my glass mat
with the sticky side up.  Placed Strathmore Mixed Media brick wall over the
awesome Mat.  Placed the ARTplorations "Wreath Stencil" over the brick wall.
No need to tape down the stencil.  The mat is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2".  I have used the mat several
times already and is a MUST HAVE Tool!  I use it for assembly cards too!

Now the fun...I used a palette knife to spread Dream Weaver paste.  Removed stencil and
washed with warm soapy water immediately.  Let paste on wreath dry.

Then placed stencil back over the wreath and painted using
#2 paint brush to paint the leaves and berries with Gansai Tambi Gem
colors: green and red.  Painted until happy with the coverage. Let dry.

Die cut the CUTplorations Joyful from red glitter paper and popped up with 100#
white cardstock using Connect Glue and attached below the wreath.

Added very old retired SU Riding Hood Red ribbon and attached card front
to SU Basic White card base and Done!
Loved all the shine from the paint and the texture from the paste😊

Thank you CAS Christmas Challenge girls for all your inspiration and getting us
back on track for adding to our Christmas card stash😊

Love and Hugs,

STAMPlorations Preview of 8th Birthday Bundle #1

Be sure and check out Shery's Preview Post on STAMPlorations using 8th Birthday Bundle #1.

Shery asked if any of the STAMPgirls could share projects using the new 8th Birthday Bundle #1.

I was happy to share  two cards that I made using 3 of the new Birthday Bundle #1 products on the 1st card and 2 new Bundle products on the 2nd card.

Blossom Sprays #4  4x6 stamp
Radiate Happy 3x5 stamp set.
Design Blox Template #5 stencil

I masked the Design Blox Template #5 stencil over Mixed Media paper
using 3M masking tape.
Then watercolored with Magicals powders,  which I reconstituted with a wet paint brush.
Added a bit of water with the brush to a stencil opening and then painted  with the wet brush dipped into the Magicals paint.  I did one opening at a time and made sure none of the colors were next to each other.  Removed the stencil carefully after letting the images dry. Loved the shine from the Magicals.

A few of the images paint seeped under the stencil so I just added a bit more paint to get cleaner lines.
Next time when watercoloring I will spray the back of the stencil with light tacky Pixie Spray.

Next placed background in MISTI and stamped the Blossom Sprays #4 and Radiate Happy
sentiment using Versafine Ink and Heat Embossed with Clear EB Powder.

Trimmed stenciled background and attached to A2 Basic Black Cardstock, which made the
background Pop!
Attached to White 100# cardstock and Done!  Loved the results😊

******************

My 2nd card
Radiate Happy 3x5 stamp set
Art Border Die #1

I used a Brushos background from my stash for my die cut Art Border #1.

Then used CUTplorations Basic A2 Panels Nesting Dies to cut the middle panel and the frame.
If you look closely you can see the beveled edges,  which is a nice finishing touch.

Stamped the sentiment from the Radiate Happy stamp set.
Then attached all the pieces using Connect Glue to the Basic White A2 100# card base and Done!

BTW,  the Art Border #1 is exactly 5 1/2" long.  Perfect for an A2,  5 1/2' x 4 1/4" card base.
Of course the Art Border can be easily trimmed too.

I will also be adding 2 more cards for our Day 1,  8th Birthday Celebration!
Really, really fun products for creating projects😃

Shery will soon be sharing more Previews of her new Birthday Bundles with more samples of
projects by a few of the STAMPgirls.  Stay Tuned!

Love and Hugs..

CAS Mix Up May Stencil Rainbow Ink Blending Reminder

Challenge hosted by our very talented Susan.
Be sure and check out the beautiful Rainbow colored CAS cards by our talented Design Team and Guest Designer.  You will definitely be inspired!

Using Stencil, Distress Oxide Inks, i-Crafters i-Brushes and Die Cuts.

Die Cut SU Whisper White 100# cardstock with Memory Box Stitched Circle Die then attached my ARTplorations Bloomdala Bliss #5 Stencil over circle using 3M masking tape.  Then the fun began.

Used Seven of my Ten i-Crafter i-Blending Brushes to blend the Distress Oxide inks.  I Love how the finger dauber brushes are colored so I know immediately,  which brush to use for the different color families.

I started with Candied Apple and went in this order carefully blending the DOX's around the circle image.  DOX: Candied Apple, Spiced marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Worn Lipstick.

Removed the stencil and LOVED the results😊

Next Die cut a larger stitched circle using SU Tangerine Tango cardstock and glued rainbow image onto colored cardstock.
Placed SU 100# card base in MISTI and stamped the STAMPlorations Life in Full Color stamp set sentiment using Archival Jet Black ink.

Popped up circle image with craft foam and attached to card base and Done!
I was very pleased with the CAS design and colorful stenciled Rainbow colors.

Hope you get to join us this month at CAS Mix Up Stencil Rainbow Blending.
Thank you Susan for a fun and colorful challenge.
This was my 1st try at stencil rainbow coloring and I loved how both my cards turned out.  I will be using the technique in the future I am sure😀

STAMPlorations May Extra Stencil Challenge

STAMPlorations May Extra Stencil Challenge has begun with fabulous projects by our Design Team'  We would love to have you play along. You have until the end of April to play and comment.

Clear Stickers Spring Magic

I positioned the ARTplorations Peeking Dahlias Stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media paper and secured with 3M Masking Tape.  Then used a sponge dauber to apply Clear Versamark thru the stencil on just the top flower.  Carefully removed card front from masked stencil.

Sprinkled center of flower with a combination of Distress Embossing Glaze Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for a light brown color.  Then removed excess Embossing Glaze powder onto copy paper and carefully poured excess powder back into tiny jar to use another time.   Then heat embossed the brown Glaze.  Used the same technique for each color of Distress Embossing Glaze: Rusty Hinge,  Fired Brick and Fossilized Amber.

Replaced card front under masking tape and added Clear Versamark to bottom flower.  Removed card front and repeated the same steps and heat embossing techniques.  Loved the shiny beautiful colors on both Dahlia blooms.

Die cut the frame with the largest A2 Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die.
Attached to SU Basic White 100# card base.  Then added the Clear Stickers Spring Magic sentiment and Done!

My card will be going to my dear 92 year old girlfriend,  Daisy!
She has always been an avid gardener and loves ALL Flowers.

Enjoy our Spring weather and getting outside to play in the dirt!  Love and Hugs..

STAMPlorations March Stencil Challenge

Time for our March STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes.

We would love to have you join us with your Stencil project!

ARTplorations Sanna designed  Flowers1 Stencil
ARTplorations Flourishes Stencil
Monika's Flexi-Template
STAMPlorations It's a Girl Thing: Kindness (sentiment)
I used a new to me technique for my background by following Eileen Godwin's Video for the stenciled with Gesso EB Resist Technique.

I sprayed the back of Monika's Rectangle Flexi-Template with Pixie Spray and centered it over a Strathmore Mixed Media A2 cardfront.  Then placed sprayed ARTplorations "Flourish" Stencil with Pixie Spray and placed over Template and attached 3M masking tape for the wide frame.

I put a dab of Gesso on glass mat and spread thinly with a paint brush.
I used a small makeup sponge to carefully pick up Gesso from mat and apply thru stencil.  Removed stencil and let Gesso dry.

Used i-Crafter i-Brushes with a sweeping motion and light touch to add Distress Inks: Scattered Straw, Barn Door,  and Broken China.  Then replaced stencil and using a damp paper towel carefully removed ink from the stenciled images. Removed stencil and let dry.

Next placed part of Sanna Flowers1 stencil over background and outlined the flowers with Staedler Black permanent ink.  Removed stencil and filled in flowers with the same pen.  Voila'...I got a Silhouette image😊
Stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations "It's a Girl Thing:Kindness" and Archival Jet Black Ink and MISTI and Done!
I was very pleased with the results  and hope you like it too.

Be sure and check out our Design Team Projects too.
Love and Hugs..

STAMPlorations December Stencil Reminder

Welcome to STAMPlorations December 2020 Stencil Reminder Challenge.
Our last Stencil Challenge for 2020.

We are all looking forward to New Stencils and many more new STAMPlorations products in 2021.  You will be inspired by Shery and her very talented
Design Team Girls!

You still have until the end of December to play along.
Wishing you a safe and Blessed Merry Christmas,  dear friends!

Shirley The Bee's Knees STAMPlorations Christmas Reindeer (sentiment)
Sanna Lippert Designs ARTplorations Christmas Wreaths Stencil

I used another alcohol ink background from my stash.  I am so happy that I made a bunch of alcohol ink backgrounds using what I thought would work for possible Christmas cards.  It sure makes for easy card designs:-)

I die cut the panel with one of the Basic A2 Stencils Nesting Dies.  Then attached my Sanna Christmas Wreaths Stencil over the panel and secured with masking tape. This was my 1st time to outline only 1/2 of the stencil and include the small wreath.  Then outlined the leaves and berries thru the stencil with an 03 Black Art Pen.

Removed stencil and used Derwent watercolor pencils to color in the red berries and then colored berries with Prismacolor pencils for richer dark red berries.

I then used Staedler black pen to outline all the leaves and berries.
I popped up the panel using craft foam and attached to die cut red cardfront that I had die cut with the Basic A2 Stencils Nesting Dies.  Love this set.  There are 10 dies in the set.  I then nested 2 of the nesting dies to make a thin black CS frame for the panel.

Stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Reindeer stamp set onto white cardstock,  trimmed and popped up with craft foam,  attached to cardbase and Done!

Enjoy and Happy Holidays,  dear friends.  May 2021 bring control of the pandemic through out the world and Peace.  Love and Hugs..

Be Sure and check out the awesome projects by the Design Team!

STAMPlorations Holiday Mocha Feels sentiment

A fun project using Distress Oxide inks on Mixed Media paper for the background,
along with a die cut frame in my stash.
I attached the Tropical Leaves Stencil with masking tape to the background.

Next used make up brushes to blend the inks.  then removed stencil and
traced the leaves with a Staedler black pen to make the leaves pop.

Popped up image with craft foam and attached to 100# white cardbase.

Set card aside and used makeup brush to blend  Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and
Evergreen Bough Distress Inks over the new material Craftplorations Tropical Leaf.
Stamped "Holiday Mocha Feels" sentiment with Archival Black Ink.
Attached leaf to card image with Connect Glue and Done!

Loved how well the Tropical Leaf, which was cut from the new material blended the Distress Oxide inks.

Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party-May 6

STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop & Party has begun!!!

You are going to Love all the awesome Spring Themed projects by many
of our DT STAMP girls using Spring Themed Stamps, Stencils and/or Stickers!

Here is my 1st card sample!
You will see more of my samples on the encore posts: May 20th and May 27th!

I kept with bright and colorful Spring colors and a simple design.

Sprayed back of stencil with Pixie light tacky adhesive.  Works great for stencils,
especially if you are doing any watercoloring.

Attached stencil to Strathmore Mixed Media paper and secured with masking tape.

I colored the stencil with Zigs Real Brush pens.
Removed stencil and washed with warm soapy water to remove most of
adhesive and all the watercolors.

I did a little surgery on the Spring Magic sticker so it would fit nicely.
I Love the versatility and the fonts on Shery's stickers and I now have many sets:-)
I got hooked on Christmas Stickers last year,  which saved me so much time.

I enjoyed my relaxing time watercoloring the bright colored floral image
and then taking minutes to finish my card using a 5 1/2"x 5 1/2" format.

You have until the 31st to comment and add your linky Spring Fling projects.
Hugs......
