CAS Mix Up Alcohol Ink Lift

Playing in Bonnie's awesome Alcohol Ink Lift challenge again:-)
There are video tutorials and gorgeous samples by the DT and GD!

Alcohol Ink Lift + Stamping + Die Cut

I was happy to find this beautiful Alcohol Ink background in my stash.
I used Rangers: Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, Raspberry and Wild Plum inks.
Dropping inks onto Yupo paper and using Blending Solution to move the inks.

I die cut my piece with a SU Square die cut.
Placed in MISTI and inked Magenta C0705N Leaves with Alcohol Ink Lift.
Then stamped image in MISTI.  Let air dry and buffed with paper towel.
Repeated process 2 or 3 more times drying and buffing each time.

Loved how the paper towel lifted off the color from the leaf for a beautiful image.
Then stamped SSS sentiment in MISTI with Versafine black ink
and heat embossed with SU Clear EB powder.

Popped up image and sentiment with White Craft foam
attaching with gina k Connect Glue and attached to Gemund Woodland 110# CS.

Added sequins and Done!  Loved the Results:-)

Thank you again Bonnie for an awesome challenge.
You have until the 24th to play along. Hugs...

Twofer Card Challenge #18: Garden

I could not miss out on the Twofer Card Challenge: Garden!!

My dear friend, Hideko just sent me several die cut herbs from the
Alexandra Renke Rosemary and Thyme Die Set:-)
Perfect timing for the Twofer Challenge...Thank you again Hideko.

My Cards

I kept my 1st card very Clean and Simple!

I watercolored the die cut Rosemary and Thyme using Distress Inks:Lucky Clover,
Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers.  Then stamped the STAMPlorations
"Healing Herbs" jar in Peacock Feathers onto SU Vellum CS and fussy cut.

Next I die cut my frame using the new Penny Black "Leaf Stitched Frame",
which I used on both cards and used the Rosemary and Thyme dies on both cards too!

Placed card front in MISTI and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Arranged herbs in jar onto card front and attached to card base and Done!

**********

My 2nd card

I had fun coloring the die cut Leaf Stitched Frames on my layers with Zigs.

On the main image I used the washi tape from my stash to ground the die cut herbs,
which I had watercolored with Zigs.  Much brighter than on the 1st card.

Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from "Healing Herbs".  Added a few
sequins,  popped up with foam and Done!

Thank you again Hideko for your thoughtful herb sprigs.  So perfect for my Twofers.
You still have until the 24th to play along.  Loved this challenge, Dolly:-)  Hugs...

CAS Stencil Card Challenge Reminder: Alcohol Inks/ Alcohol Lift

Time for more inspiring CAS Card Samples by our talented DT and our
Very talented Guest Designer Janet (Swanlady Impressions).

Our DT girl Cathy is hosting this creative challenge.
You have until the 24th to play along at CAS Stencil Card Challenge.

My die cut CUTplorations Perched Bird!

I dropped drops of Ranger Alcohol Inks onto Yupo paper starting with light to darker
shades of Alcohol Inks.  I used Lemonade, butterscotch, Rust and Teakwood.  Adding
Blending Solution and tipping the Yupo paper to make the inks run and blend.

I also used blending tool with Blending Solution on sponge on the background.
I did not add any greens inks,  but with all the combos of yellows and browns I got
a really soft shade of green for the center of the background.

When inks dried,  I used a paper towel to burnish the background,  which added
a shine and smoothed out the excess inks.

Then I die cut with CUTplorations "Perched Bird Die".  I loved how placing the die
just right,  I was able to get a brown beak, back and branch:-)

Then die cut White Craft Foam with the bird die and attached to die cut bird with
Gina K Connect Glue.  Next I placed my new to me TCW "Raven Mosaic"
Stencil over bird and used a mini blending tool with sponge to gently
pounce a small amount of Ranger Alcohol Ink Lift thru the stencil.

Tip: Add a small amount of Alcohol Ink Lift to sponge.  Too much and it can seep under
the stencil.  Your background will dry very slowly too.  You can also use 97% or 99%
Rubbing Alcohol to lift ink if you do not have the Ink Lift product.

Next I placed my card in MISTI and stamped Penny Black "Special Sentiment"
sentiment several times to get good coverage on the Gemund Woodland 110 # CS.

I was very pleased with the results.

My 2nd card using my Alcohol ink negative background!

I wanted to share what my original Alcohol Ink background looked like.
I die cut the 1st bird in the area that was the lighter green.

I die cut 2 birds..one out of white craft foam and one out of SU Whisper
White 100# CS and stacked with Connect Glue.
Inlaid bird in background and attached at an angle.  Added sentiment and Done!

I did not use a stencil so this card is not for the challenge.
I think both cards will make fun guy cards:-)

Hope you will be able to play in our CAS Stencil Card Challenge too.  Hugs..

CAS Watercolour Card Challenge: Birthday Surprise!

CAS Watercolour Challenge Reminder Cards and perfect timing as today is
sweet and very talented Bonnie's Birthday!

Happy Birthday, dear friend!

My bouquet of flowers for Bonnie:-)

I know Bonnie likes Blue,  so I had fun finishing a stamped on Mixed Media paper
and colored with
Derwent Watercoloured Pencil hydrangea image,  that I had made at our Retreat.

I stamped with Versafine black ink Impression Obsession F16363 again,  watercolored
with pencils using Dolly's technique...and fussy cut.
I held the Derwent Watercolour pencil in left hand and swiped a slightly wet
#4 paint brush over the tip of the pencil and painted the image adding layers until
pleased with the result.

Attached shaped fussy cut hydrangea with SU dimensionals.
Then die cut a circle from SU Whisper White 100# CS.
Snipped off a straight edge on top and bottom of circle
and wrapped with SU retired Washi Tape and popped up with dimensionals.
Then used W/C pencils to ground the vase.

I found an old SU sentiment from "On Your Birthday" stamp set that fit perfectly
into the space.  Stamped, Heat Embossed on CS, fussy cut and attached.

Hope you get to play along and wish Bonnie a Happy Birthday too:-)
Have fun at your Birthday Celebration, my friend.

You have until the 24th to play in the CAS Watercolour Challenge.  Hugs...

CAS Christmas Card Challenge: Snowflakes

The perfect Christmas Challenge: Snowflake to make multiple cards for my stash!
Thank you Bonnie for hosting this challenge.
The talented Jane (Onions and Paper) is the Guest Designer this month:-)

My Snowflake Card!

I bought this Memory Box "Watching Deer" circle die on our Retreat visit
to a local BC craft store.  I thought it would be perfect for multiple Christmas cards
for my stash..so perfect that I made 10 cards for my stash:-)

I used Distress Oxide Inks: Fossilized Amber, Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch and
blended onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper using makeup brushes.
I did 10 (3 1/2" x 3") backgrounds.

Next used SSS "Falling Snow" Stencil to add Nuvo Glimmer Paste "Moonstone"
with palette knife to the 10 backgrounds.
Very important to wash stencil with warm soapy water when done.
Set backgrounds aside to dry away from my work area.

Die cut the "Watching Deer" Die out of SU Whisper White 100# CS.
Placed in MISTI to stamp and heat emboss the PB "Smile All Seasons" sentiment.

Attached backgrounds to back of die cut card fronts using scotch tape
and then attached card fronts to card base and Done:-)

You have until the 24th to play along with the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.
An awesome challenge for adding to your Christmas Card stash!

Enjoy and Hugs...

STAMPlorations Celebrating!

July is World Watercolor Month!
Come and join the fun at STAMPlorations Linky Party!

I was inspired by Shery's background for her STAMPlorations Badge!

I used one Distress Oxide Ink at a time using the smooshing technique.
Starting with the lightest Squeezed Lemonade, then Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon,
Blueprint Sketch, Abandoned Coral and Wilted Violet.

I smeared DOX onto glass mat and spritzed with water then smooshed
Mixed Media paper onto mat.
After smooshing  the color in several areas of paper then changed to a new
DOX color after letting previous color dry.

Die cut background with CUTplorations Crazy Running Stitch Rectangles Die.
Next placed card front in MISTI and stamped with STAMPlorations
Say It Big: "Sunshine" stamp with Versafine and heat EB with Clear EB powder.

Popped up with White Craft Foam onto card base and Done!
Loved the colorful background that looked so Summery:-)

You have until July 31st to play along in the fun Watercolor Linky Party.
Wishing you all a bright and beautiful Summer of creating. Hugs..

CAS Stencil Card Challenge: Alcohol Inks/ Alcohol Lift

Already time for a new CAS Stencil Card Challenge.
Our DT girl Cathy is hosting this creative Challenge.

You will find inspiring CAS Cards by our talented DT and this
months very talented Guest Designer Janet (Swanlady Impressions).
Also helpful video's on the challenge post.

We would also like to Welcome Viv (Viv's Visuals) to our CAS Stencil family.
Viv is a very talented CAS card designer,  who often plays in all our CAS Challenges.
Viv is from the UK.  You will Love her beautiful smile and Creative CAS cards:-)

My 1st CAS Card using Alcohol Inks background with Alcohol Lift over a stencil. Enjoy!

I used the Ellen Hudson Backgrounds with Alcohol Inks Technique Video for my card.

I began by die cutting a piece of Yupo paper with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Die.
Next dropped drops of Alcohol Ink onto sponge pad that was attached to Mini ink blender.
Sponged the colors going from the lightest to darkest Alcohol Inks
with a pouncing technique.

My Ranger Alcohol Inks:  Sunshine Yellow, Flamingo, Rasberry, and Wild Plum.
I let the background dry,  then burnished with a paper towel to remove excess ink
and add shine to the background.  I loved the color combo.

Then I placed my new TCW "Tiny Circles" (gift from Loll) stencil over my background
and added a small amount of Ranger Alcohol Ink Lift
onto a T.H. Mini Blending Tool sponge.
Be careful not to add to much of the Lift solution so it does not go under the stencil.
Also very difficult to dry if you use too much.  You can use 92% Rubbing
Alcohol or Blending Solution if you do not have the lift product.

TIP:  Let background dry completely before burnishing again with paper towel.
The stenciling will rub off even if you just touch your image if NOT dry!

I die cut my Alexandra Renke Snowdrops and attached with gina k. Connect Glue also
a gift from my dear friend Loll. I am in love with this glue, especially for dies!
I added sequins to balance my image.

Popped up my image with White Craft Foam and attached to another die cut layer.

Added PB "Special Sentiments" using Versafine black ink and my MISTI and Done!

I will be using this fun technique again soon.  Thank you Cathy for hosting.
You have until the 24th to play along.  Hugs..

CWCC July 2019 Dolly's Blueberry Birthday:-)

Special Event

Please join us in celebrating Darnell's Birthday!!

One more part to this special event.
The team has made special cards for Darnell's birthday,
along with our Guest Designer Leslie,
and several Featured Designers (friends from the retreat).

During our retreat, Darnell (Dolly to us) was up early one morning
and decided she wanted some frozen blueberries.
Some how she spilled almost the whole, Costco-sized bag of
blueberries all over the floor.

Bonnie snapped these pictures.
See the swipe of blueberries on the right photo??  Dolly couldn't find a broom so she grabbed
a large piece of card stock to pick up the berries.  As they thawed, the blueberry juice
"smooshed" on the cardstock in a lovely design that looked perfect for card making.

Well, without Dolly knowing, we kept that piece of blueberry smoosh and cut it up.
Each Designer has used one piece in making Dolly's birthday cards. :)

Here is my Blueberry BG & Flower Bouquet Birthday card for our Birthday Girl!

Now that you  have the back story to my birthday card for my dear, silly girlfriend
how about more about my CAS card design?!?

After I got home I die cut the background with SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame Die.
Next used a die cut circle from my stash to stamp PB "Scented Message" with
White Versamagic and heat embossed with Wow white EB powder.
Watercolored with Zigs.

Was pleased to discover that Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink matched the blueberries!
Perfect for the PB sentiment.."Special Sentiment".

Popped up background, flowers and sentiment with craft foam onto
SU Whisper White 100# card base and Done!

Sending a Big Hug and Birthday Wishes to you Dolly my sweet,
silly and tons of fun girlfriend.
Love and Hugs...
