We had 4 more creative friends join us for Retreat 2019..Bonnie, Lin, Colleen and my
daughter Jeani.  We had the best of times:-)

Here are 2 of my favorite cards...Enjoy!

Cut Up Stamping Technique that I led.
Card I made using the technique after making DOX ink with Baby Wipe background
that Bonnie led.

I used Kia's Distress Oxide Inks and baby wipe video for my inspiration.
Thank you Kia (aplaceforkia).

Distress Oxide Inks:Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry
and Abandoned Coral. Ink pad to craft mat and spritzed with water
then smooshed onto Photo paper. Wiped off with baby wipe when dry.

Let dry again and then stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.
Made sure dry by blotting with paper towel.

Cut out 1/2" diagonal piece and removed.
Added white craft foam to two pieces and added top piece to
card front.  Then stamped sentiment using MISTI.

Attached bottom piece and done!
Loved the results.  Two awesome techniques:-)
********

My 2nd card using DOX Blending and heat embossed image led by Lin.
Another favorite finished card.  More cards to share in future posts:-)

I used K. Werner's Blended Distress Oxides #7 You Tube Video
to choose my DOX colors: Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves.

I used makeup brushes or you can use mini sponge blending tools.
When done with background, I stamped and heat embossed PB flower image.
Popped up main image with white craft foam onto cardstock and added PB sentiment.
Loved the results. Hugs...

Hosted by the very talented Trina (Phamtastic Design) and this months
wonderful Guest Designer, Helen (Helen's Craft Haven).
You still have until the 24th to play along:-)

My Christmas Stocking Card.

I found this beautiful Alcohol Ink on Acrylic background in my stash.  I used Ranger
reds and pinks Alcohol Inks.  I also added scrunched white tissue paper to the back
to bring out the colors.

Here is a link to one of my favorite cards using this technique with the Deets.

I die cut the Memory Box Large Circle Burst Die and
attached the background to SU card front with scotch tape.

I was happy to finally use my Faux Enamel stocking that was in my stash.
I die cut the stocking with CUTplorations Warm Hands Warm Hearts Die
out of Stathmore 350# Mixed Media paper and used an electric grill to melt layers
of SU Vintage Verdigris EB Powder (ret) and then added Ranger Gold
EB Powder and melted.  So much glittery sparkle in the stocking:-)

Popped up the stocking with foam tape, stamped Penny Black Holiday Snippets
sentiment and popped up with foam tape and Done!

Thank you Trina for a fun Stocking Challenge. Hugs..

Guest Designer Michel (I Card Everyone).
Wonderful samples in our growing gallery by our talented followers too.

You have until the 24th to play along.

 Stenciling on Distress Oxide Background!

I used the same technique as on my CAS Stencil Card Challenge May Launch card.

I used Kia's Distress Oxide Inks and baby wipe video for my inspiration.
Thank you Kia (aplaceforkia).

I added my Distress Oxide Inks one color at a time onto T.H. Glass Mat,
water spritzed with T.H. spritzer and Smooshed onto SU Glossy CS.
Then dried each layer of ink with heat tool.

Distress Oxide Inks used: Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Tattered Rose, Shaded Lilac,
Wilted Violet and Broken China.

After A2 background dried I die cut with CUTplorations "ATC Builder Die" and
got 2 ATC's for my launch and reminder cards.

I placed ARTplorations "Roses" stencil over background and secured with
masking tape.  Then used a damp sponge dauber to color the rose flower
thru the stencil with Wilted Violet DOX ink and the leaves with Lucky Clover DOX.

Then the magic: used baby wipe to wipe away the chalky residue
caused by the spritzed Distress Oxide Inks to give the image bright shiny colors.

Set aside to dry and Stenciled an A2 Glossy Card front with ARTplorations
"Bloomdala Bliss #4" using the large stencil in the set and Hickory Smoke DOX.

Added White Craft Foam to ATC and stamped onto Glossy CS the
Papertrey Ink,  "Ways to say:Thinking of You" sentiment using Archival black ink.

Attached to stenciled card front and Done!
I am loving this technique.

You have until the 24th to play along with us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge.

Such a beautiful Spring color.

secured with masking tape.  Used sponge dauber to add Distress Oxide Inks
through the stencil using Shaded Lilac and Seedless Preserves DOX inks.

with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

A Close Up

Used CUTplorations Crazy Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die
to cut down image and give it a nice frame.

and Linky Party.  You are invited to add your wing-themed projects to the Linky

I am adding my bookmark project to the Part Two STAMPgirls projects.

I used STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2 and Mixed Media Grunge stamp sets.

I cut a 2 1/2" x 6" piece of Strathmore 140# Mixed Media for my bookmark.
Next used 6 Faber-Castell Gel Sticks and scribbled one color at a time onto the Mixed Media.

Spritzed each color with water and smeared with my finger.  Added another color
and repeated the spritzing and smearing until bookmark completely covered.

Used MISTI to place the Mixed Media Grunge stamps on bookmark
and stamped the top and bottom borders with Archival Jet Black Ink.

When dry placed the Trendy Butterflies 2 butterflies and sentiment images and
stamped using MISTI and black ink.  Repeated stamping until images covered.

CAS Mix Up May Baby Wipes

I am playing along with the May CAS Mix Up Card Challenge.

Bonnie is hosting this fun challenge.
You will be so inspired by the DT and GD's sample cards.
There are plenty of video's if you need technique ideas too.

I am using Distress Oxide's and Baby Wipe + Stamping + Stenciling,
 Smooshing and Dies.

I used Kia's Distress Oxide Inks and baby wipe video for my inspiration.
Thank you Kia (aplaceforkia).  I am thrilled with the technique.

I began by using an A2 cut piece of SU Glossy CS to Smoosh on several
Distress Oxide Inks.  Drying between each color.
I used DOX's: Iced Spruce, Hickory Smoke, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs and
Aged Mahogany.

When dry I die cut with CUTplorations "ATC Builder Die" to get 2 backgrounds.
Unfortunately when I stamped on the 2nd background with Versafine Black
I did not dry and the sentiment really smeared.
My fault,  I should have used Archival Jet Black ink and then heated
because of the glossy surface of CS.  Lesson learned!

Next..the magical part..wiping off the chalky residue caused by the
Distress Oxide inks using a Baby Wipe.
Voila'..a bright and beautiful shiny image!

Then stamped SSS "Messages for Everyday" sentiments using Versafine
black ink and heat embossed with SU clear embossing powder.
Attached to ATC image.

Next stenciled on SU Whisper White card front with DOX Aged Mahogany
using Tim Holtz "Dot Fade" stencil and sponge dauber.

Die cut card front with SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frames (lg).
Attached to Whisper White 100# card base and
popped up main image with White Craft Foam and Done!
Loved the results!!!

You have until the 24th to play in the fun challenge.  Hugs..

CAS Stencil Card Challenge: Stenciling over Colored BG

You have until the end of the day May 31st to comment.
I will announce the winner on June 4th and contact you:-)

Back to our Stencil Challenge!

CAS Stencil Card Challenge for May hosted by our talented Sue.

The challenge is to Stencil over Colored Backgrounds.
The beautiful and creative samples by our DT and GD Michele (I Card Everyone)
will inspire you along with the videos.

My Card!

I tried a new background technique I learned from Kia's (aplaceforkia) recent
You Tube video Distress Oxide Inks and baby wipes. 10:27.

You can use photo paper or glossy paper.  I used SU Glossy Cardstock.
I Cut an A2 size of CS then added Distress Oxide ink to my T.H. Glass Mat and spritzed
lightly with water and Smooshed one color at a time, drying between colors.

I used these Distress Oxide Inks: Cracked Pistachio,
Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough for the background.

I used CUTplorations "ATC Builder Die" to die cut 2 ATC backgrounds.

Next I placed the ARTplorations "Fairy Tale Forest" stencil over ATC,
securing with masking tape and sponged with DOX Faded Jeans.

Now for the Magic...Swiped ATC with a baby wipe to remove the Chalky Residue.
This really brightened up the shiny image!

I die cut the CUTplorations "Hugs" in the middle of the baby wiped ATC then
die cut "Hugs" again with White Craft Foam and Inlaid using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Popped up main image with Craft Foam and attached to die cut layer, which I popped up
with foam and attached to
SU Whisper White 100# CS card base and Done!

Here is my ATC background after stenciling dried.
Left side swiped with baby wipe.  The chalky residue on right before using baby wipe.

Loved the new Distress Oxide and Baby Wipes technique.  Thank you Kia.
You will be seeing more backgrounds with this technique soon:-)

Enjoy and hope you get to join us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge.
You have until the 24th to play along. Hugs..

STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge Anything Goes: Optional Color Twist: Lilac

Time already for STAMPlorations March CAS Card Challenge Anything Goes:
Optional Color Twist: Lilac.

Here is my card using

Lilac is a beautiful color for late Spring, Early Summer.
I cut an A2 size card front from SU Crumb Cake CS to start my card.
Then die cut with CUTplorations Crazy Double Stitch Rectangle
Nesting Dies.

I always love seeing how Crumb Cake or Kraft CS will change the original ink colors.
I sponged the Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves onto the CS using
T.H. Mini Blending Tool.  The tone was just a bit muted.

Then placed ARTplorations Fairy Tale Forest Stencil over sponged card front securing with
masking tape.  Next used blending tool to add the DOX Lilac ink.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the lilac showed over the Seedless Preserves.

When dry I stamped sentiment and coffee cup image from Coffee for All Seasons
in MISTI. Heat embossed and watercolored cup and saucer with DOX inks.
Attached to Crumb Cake card base and done!

A quick CAS card design that I really liked:-)

We would love to have you join us at our CAS Card Challenge.
