Sept Dry Embossing with Re-inkers Watercoloring

Time for our Group of Seven Cardmakers September Dry Embossing

Click on link above for all the technique details and card samples by the cardmakers:-)

The Video is a must see!!!!

I began by creating 6 backgrounds using Distress Ink Re-inkers,
I finished 4 backgrounds into cards and I am saving the other backgrounds
 for future cards:-)

I loved all 4 cards,  but I think this is my favorite:-)

I went step by step following exactly the video for each background!!!

Card #1 Supplies
Stamps: None
Paper: Fluid 100 Hot Press Watercolor Paper,  Neenah Solar White Crest Smooth 5" square cardbase.
Inks: Distress Ink Refills: Wilted Violet,  Broken China, Tumbled Glass Scattered Straw. VersaFine Clair Nocturne Pigment Ink.
Accessories:Glass Mat,  # 12 paint brush,  Spellbinders "Beautiful Blooms" 3D EB Folder.  STAMPlorations HUGS Die.  Craft Foam to pop up image. Connect Glue.

TIP:  I used a different Black Pigment Ink,  but did not work well.  I ordered Versafine Clair Nocturne Pigment Ink from Amazon and received it quickly:-)  I used the Nocturne over my 1st try and I got a sharp Black image...  Again...follow the video and you will have awesome results!!!!!

TIP:  I used the tip in the video to use paper towels and rubbing alcohol to clean the black ink off the 3D EB Folder.  It worked great..just be sure to have enough paper towels handy.  You can control the messiness:-)

You have until the end of the month to play along with our Stencil Challenge!

Be sure and check out all the Stencil Challenge STAMPgirls projects for inspiration.
We would love to have you share your projects in our linky.

I chose a favorite ARTplorations Sanna Lippert Designs Barley Stencil
for a mixed media October Autumn Stenciled Style Card!

I do Love the Fall Season and Fall colors😊
I used a Tone on Tone Blending Technique to add Distress Oxide inks to
Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
I used these DOX inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo
and Bundled Sage.  Applying the ink with makeup brushes and continuing to blend the colors
until I was happy with the background.

Next I spritzed the card front with water using Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and
blotted dry with paper towel.  Loved the added subtle texture.

Then placed the stencil over the card front and secured with 3M Masking Tape.
Dabbed the stencil with Clear Versamark and Heat Embossed with Distress Embossing Glaze.
Using: Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen, Crackling Campfire, Weathered Wood and Rusty Hinge.
I let the glaze powders mix with each other and then heat embossed.
I saved the leftover mixed powders in a tiny jar and named Fall colors:-)
The colors and shine are beautiful.

Then die cut the card front with

I made a small background with the same Distress Inks , spritzed with water, trimmed
and added the Happy Happy-Clear Stickers sentiment and popped up with craft foam.
Next attached card front to SU Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and Done!!!

Enjoy and Happy Autumn Season and Colors, my friends.

Love and Hugs....

STAMPlorations Preview of 8th Birthday Bundle #1

Be sure and check out Shery's Preview Post on STAMPlorations using 8th Birthday Bundle #1.

Shery asked if any of the STAMPgirls could share projects using the new 8th Birthday Bundle #1.

I was happy to share  two cards that I made using 3 of the new Birthday Bundle #1 products on the 1st card and 2 new Bundle products on the 2nd card.

Blossom Sprays #4  4x6 stamp
Radiate Happy 3x5 stamp set.
Design Blox Template #5 stencil

I masked the Design Blox Template #5 stencil over Mixed Media paper
using 3M masking tape.
Then watercolored with Magicals powders,  which I reconstituted with a wet paint brush.
Added a bit of water with the brush to a stencil opening and then painted  with the wet brush dipped into the Magicals paint.  I did one opening at a time and made sure none of the colors were next to each other.  Removed the stencil carefully after letting the images dry. Loved the shine from the Magicals.

A few of the images paint seeped under the stencil so I just added a bit more paint to get cleaner lines.
Next time when watercoloring I will spray the back of the stencil with light tacky Pixie Spray.

Next placed background in MISTI and stamped the Blossom Sprays #4 and Radiate Happy
sentiment using Versafine Ink and Heat Embossed with Clear EB Powder.

Trimmed stenciled background and attached to A2 Basic Black Cardstock, which made the
background Pop!
Attached to White 100# cardstock and Done!  Loved the results😊

******************

My 2nd card
Radiate Happy 3x5 stamp set
Art Border Die #1

I used a Brushos background from my stash for my die cut Art Border #1.

Then used CUTplorations Basic A2 Panels Nesting Dies to cut the middle panel and the frame.
If you look closely you can see the beveled edges,  which is a nice finishing touch.

Stamped the sentiment from the Radiate Happy stamp set.
Then attached all the pieces using Connect Glue to the Basic White A2 100# card base and Done!

BTW,  the Art Border #1 is exactly 5 1/2" long.  Perfect for an A2,  5 1/2' x 4 1/4" card base.
Of course the Art Border can be easily trimmed too.

I will also be adding 2 more cards for our Day 1,  8th Birthday Celebration!
Really, really fun products for creating projects😃

Shery will soon be sharing more Previews of her new Birthday Bundles with more samples of
projects by a few of the STAMPgirls.  Stay Tuned!

Love and Hugs..

STAMPlorations May Extra Stencil Challenge

STAMPlorations May Extra Stencil Challenge has begun with fabulous projects by our Design Team'  We would love to have you play along. You have until the end of April to play and comment.

Clear Stickers Spring Magic

I positioned the ARTplorations Peeking Dahlias Stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media paper and secured with 3M Masking Tape.  Then used a sponge dauber to apply Clear Versamark thru the stencil on just the top flower.  Carefully removed card front from masked stencil.

Sprinkled center of flower with a combination of Distress Embossing Glaze Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for a light brown color.  Then removed excess Embossing Glaze powder onto copy paper and carefully poured excess powder back into tiny jar to use another time.   Then heat embossed the brown Glaze.  Used the same technique for each color of Distress Embossing Glaze: Rusty Hinge,  Fired Brick and Fossilized Amber.

Replaced card front under masking tape and added Clear Versamark to bottom flower.  Removed card front and repeated the same steps and heat embossing techniques.  Loved the shiny beautiful colors on both Dahlia blooms.

Die cut the frame with the largest A2 Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die.
Attached to SU Basic White 100# card base.  Then added the Clear Stickers Spring Magic sentiment and Done!

My card will be going to my dear 92 year old girlfriend,  Daisy!
She has always been an avid gardener and loves ALL Flowers.

Enjoy our Spring weather and getting outside to play in the dirt!  Love and Hugs..

CAS Christmas Challenge Rainbow

CAS Christmas Card Challenge for April is hosted by the very CAS talented Trina!  She is asking us to use Rainbow colors on our CAS Christmas Cards.  There are awesome cards by the Design Team and Guest Designer, Izzy.  Be sure and check out this fun challenge and add to your Christmas Card Stash!

Here is my CAS Rainbow Card.  Enjoy!

I am always so inspired by Trina's Phamtastic Design very Clean and Simple Christmas Card Designs.

Much to my surprise...I was thrilled and pleased to create a very CAS Christmas Card😊
Thank you Trina for always inspiring me and hosting the creative CAS April challenge.

I found a beautiful metallic shiny Magical's  background in my stash.  I used several Magicals powders that I reconstituted with water,  but I did not write down the colors.  I Die cut it using SSS Winter Trees Die.  I used scotch tape to keep the pieces attached then die cut a piece of MM paper and attached to the Magical's trees for added dimension.  Next set aside the rainbow colored trees.

Then die cut the CUTplorations Stitched Snow Hills out of SU Basic White Thick 100# cardstock.
Attached snow hills to SU 100# card base.  Stamped STAMPlorations Christmas Joy sentiments and then attached the die cut trees and Done! QCAS design😊

You still have until the 24th to play along with the CAS Christmas Card Challenge.
Love and Hugs

Stamps: STAMPlorations Christmas Joy sentiments.

Time for our STAMPlorations Stencil Anything Goes Challenge!
Be sure and check out the talented Design Teams stencil projects too.

We would love to have you join our challenge and commenting is always appreciated.

ARTplorations Slimline Flair Stencil.
STAMPlorations Happy Birthday.
CUTplorations Birthday Word Die.

A fun birthday card using the ARTplorations Slimline Flair Stencil. .
I laid the stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media 4" x 9" card base and secured with 3M masking tape making sure I only covered the frame around the stencil so the result would be a white frame on the finished card.

Next used i-Crafter i-Brushes to apply the Distress Oxide Inks: Cracked Pistachio,  Twisted Citron and Broken China.  Then removed the stencil.

Next Die-cut the CUTplorations Birthday Word Die  , Birthday word die out of same paper.
Sponged the same Distress Oxide inks onto the Birthday word then die-cut another word and attached to the colored word for added dimension using Gina K Connect Glue.  Attached Birthday to card.

Then stamped "Happy" using Happy Birthday stamp to a scrap and heat embossed with Broken China Ranger  Distress Embossing Glaze, which added a nice shine. Added sentiment to another layer of paper that I had sponged with Twisted Citron and popped up with craft foam and attached above the Birthday and Done!

Loved how well the colors blended thru the stencil using the i-brushes.

Enjoy and you have until the end of the month to add your stencil project and comment for prizes:-)

Love and Hugs..

STAMPlorations March Stencil Challenge

Time for our March STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes.

We would love to have you join us with your Stencil project!

ARTplorations Sanna designed  Flowers1 Stencil
ARTplorations Flourishes Stencil
Monika's Flexi-Template
STAMPlorations It's a Girl Thing: Kindness (sentiment)
I used a new to me technique for my background by following Eileen Godwin's Video for the stenciled with Gesso EB Resist Technique.

I sprayed the back of Monika's Rectangle Flexi-Template with Pixie Spray and centered it over a Strathmore Mixed Media A2 cardfront.  Then placed sprayed ARTplorations "Flourish" Stencil with Pixie Spray and placed over Template and attached 3M masking tape for the wide frame.

I put a dab of Gesso on glass mat and spread thinly with a paint brush.
I used a small makeup sponge to carefully pick up Gesso from mat and apply thru stencil.  Removed stencil and let Gesso dry.

Used i-Crafter i-Brushes with a sweeping motion and light touch to add Distress Inks: Scattered Straw, Barn Door,  and Broken China.  Then replaced stencil and using a damp paper towel carefully removed ink from the stenciled images. Removed stencil and let dry.

Next placed part of Sanna Flowers1 stencil over background and outlined the flowers with Staedler Black permanent ink.  Removed stencil and filled in flowers with the same pen.  Voila'...I got a Silhouette image😊
Stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations "It's a Girl Thing:Kindness" and Archival Jet Black Ink and MISTI and Done!
I was very pleased with the results  and hope you like it too.

Be sure and check out our Design Team Projects too.
Love and Hugs..

Heather Telford Winter Wonder Class

I signed up for Heather Telford's Winter Wonder on-line class and finished 2 cards using her Midnight Skies technique from her first lesson.  I LOVED how they turned out and I am sharing my 1st card with CAS Mix Up January Splatters Challenge.

My Midnight Sky (Northern Lights) Christmas Card
using silhouette stamped image, snow splatters, die cut and watercolors.

I was Thrilled with my Midnight Sky using Heather's 1st technique from her 1st lesson. I have never been successful at making night skies until I followed Heather's instructions.  She is an amazing teacher.  I highly recommend Heather's class,  which is still available.

I used Arches Hot Press 100% Cotton Watercolor Paper and Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot.

Stamped the Penny Black "Dressed in Snow" trees using Archival Jet Black ink and MISTI.  Then splattered snow with acrylic White Posca Pen.

I trimmed my finished image to 3 3/4" square and added CUTplorations Stitched Snow Hills Die for the snow bank.  Stamped Penny Black "Smile all season" sentiment and snowflakes.  Attached snowbank to main image.

I punched out a 1/4" circle for the moon and attached after my Midnight Sky was finished so I would know exactly where I wanted to place my moon.

Popped up Midnight Sky using craft foam and attached to 5 1/2" square SU Whisper White 100# card base and Done!
I LOVED the results.

There was a learning curve...I made 3 backgrounds that I tossed because I was not following Heather's instructions closely enough.  But after my practice pieces my final Midnight skies turned out beautifully:-)

*****************

My 2nd card is not really CAS so I am not sharing on the challenges,  but I am sharing with my Blog friends:-)

I used the same Midnight Sky technique from Heather's online class,  but used different brighter Distress Inks: Chipped Sapphire,  Seedless Preserves, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Black Soot.

Used MISTI to stamp the Penny Black "Winter Moment" silhouette image using Archival Jet Black Ink.  Then splattered stars with White Posca pen acrylic paint.

Added STAMPlorations Clear Sticker "Shine Bright" sentiment and 1/4" punched circle for the moon.  Attached to SU Whisper White 100# card base and Done!

I was just as pleased with this Midnight Sky as my 1st card:-)
Heather adds very detailed steps and many card samples for all three of her lessons.
You will see a few more cards in the future using her techniques.
Thank you Heather for sharing your watercolor creativity!

Love and Hugs,
