CAS Mix Up August Challenge

I have been so inspired by the Paper Towel technique cards this month hosted by Loll!
All the DT, GD and Gallery samples are Gorgeous!
Be sure to check them out Here and Loll's Video.

I am also playing in the CAS Watercolour Challenge: Colorful Butterflies
hosted my Marcia!  More gorgeous cards by the DT and GD.

Using Paper Towel + Stamping + Die Cuts + Heat Embossing

I found this beautiful paper towel in my stash that I had used to mop up
Distress Oxide Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass
and Mermaid Lagoon.

Then I remembered this beautiful sparkly die cut Memory Box butterfly
that I had in my stash that had the same alcohol ink color tones:-)

Die cut the card front with the largest rectangle SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame
and then die cut the smallest frame, which is square.

Attached the paper towel over the die cut square using Connect Glue and die cut again.
It worked perfectly then inlaid the square and attached with scotch tape on back.

Placed card front in MISTI and stamped and heat embossed STAMPlorations Bloom
Happy sentiment and added blue and green rhinestones from my stash.

Next popped up card front onto card base with white craft foam.
Added colorful sparkly butterfly with dimensionals.
The butterfly solid wings was die cut out of a glittery Alcohol Ink Acetate background.

Next added a new STAMPlorations Clear Sticker:Hey Sunshine sentiment
and Done! I loved the results and how quickly my card went together.

You still have until the 24th to play along with this awesome challenge!  Hugs.

CAS Stencil Card Challenge Reminder: Sprays

Time for our CAS Stencil Card Challenge Reminder Challenge
hosted by our very talented DT girl Robyn.

We have two special Guest Designers this month
Hilary (fiddling about) and Amy (Miss_Lomax_Art).

Here is my stenciled card using Distress Oxide Sprays!

I used an A2 size of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and taped down Artplorations
"Roses" stencil.  I was not very successful at keeping my sprays from leaking under the stencil
in places,  but planned on die cutting my image down for a CAS design.

I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Sprays
and when dry die cut with Memory Box Stitched Rectangles Die.
Placed stencil over image to outline with black Fine Tip Sharpie.

Before cutting stenciled roses I got a monoprint image for a future card:-)
It turned out beautifully!

Totally covered my image with Versamark and heat embossed with clear eb powder.
You can see the shine in the right light!

Framed image with die cut SU Calypso Coral Coredinations CS (ret).
Popped up main image with White Craft Foam.
Attached to SU Whisper White 100# CS and stamped and heat embossed
Penny Black "Smile all Season" sentiment and Done!

You still have until the 24th to play along with this fun CAS Stencil Challenge.
Thank you Robyn for hosting this month.  Hugs...

CAS Christmas Card August Challenge: Glitter

Another wonderful Christmas Challenge hosted this month by Loll!

Gorgeous Glittery cards by the awesome DT and the very talented Guest Designer,

My CAS Christmas Card.  Yes,  there is Glitter,  but it is Wink of Stella
and we all know how it is impossible to photograph.
The wreath and bird are so glittery:-)

I placed the Strathmore Mixed Media card front in MISTI.  Off set the
Penny Black "Tweet Wreath"  stamp on the card front (it is a large wreath).

Stamped the wreath with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and spritzed with water
then stamped the card front. Stamped again with DI Pine Needles.

When dry removed card front from MISTI.
Colored the open leaves and berries with Zigs and water brush.

Placed card front back in MISTI to arrange bird on leaves.
Colored  bird stamp with Zigs and spritzed with water.
Then stamped bird on scrap of MM paper.
Colored eye with 03 black art pen and white under eye with white gel pen.

Removed card front from MISTI and die cut the border with Penny Black
Leaf Stitched Frames,  which  I am loving!

Placed card front in MISTI...again!!  Stamped and heat embossed the PB
"Smile All Season" sentiment. Attached to card base and covered the wreath
and bird with Wink of Stella Glitter and Done!

Loved the results so much that I made 3 more cards now that
I had the design figured out and all my supplies out:-)

I loved the CAS design and the pretty glitter.
Thank you Loll for a wonderful challenge.  You have until the 24th to play! Hugs!

CAS Mix Up August Challenge: Paper Towel Transfer

I have been a fan of Loll's Paper Towel Transfer Technique
and was so happy when she made a Video of the Technique.  I finally had
good luck following her tips:-)

Be sure and check out the creative cards by the DT and the GD Betty (created by bjk)

I began by using a paper towel that was saturated with yellow Distress Oxides that I
used multiple times to wipe up excess inks from my glass mat.
Again,  I used Loll's video for my technique.

I placed saturated paper towel over Strathmore Bristol paper and sprayed with water.
Next pressed with my fingers over wet paper towel to transfer inks.
It is so cool how the pattern from the paper towel shows up on the background.

Then I die cut the background when dry using my new Penny Black "Leaf
Stitched Frames" die.  Then placed in MISTI and covered
Magenta "Large Daisy" stamp with Distress Oxide "Carved Pumpkin" and
spritzed with water for a watercolor look.  I stamped a 2nd time for good coverage.

Set background aside to dry and stamped and heat embossed Pinefeather Press
"Ways to Say Thinking of You" sentiment.

Attached a Bristol paper layer that I had die cut with the frame die
and popped up the main image with White Craft Foam and Done!

Thank you Loll for your wonderful challenge and video:-)
You have until the 24th to play in this fun challenge.  Hugs..

Celebrating National Coloring Book Day all Month!

Celebrating National Coloring Book Day all Month+Linky Party and Giveaway!!!

Click on the STAMPlorations Special Post link to read the details and to download
a free Bloomdala Bliss A2 Card Front from Shery.

We just got a new printer that Denny got all set up so I could play along:-)
I had such a fun relaxing time coloring my free Digi image with Zigs.

I printed my Bloomdala Bliss Sampler image at 80% of the A2 size so I could
add a border to my finished card. I used Ninnah 80# Bright White CS,
which went thru my printer easily.

Then colored with Zigs without using an aqua brush, since I was not
using watercolor paper.

When done I trimmed off the black border, placed in MISTI and stamped
sentiment from Dee's STAMPlorations "Healing Herbs" set.
Popped up on White Craft Foam onto retired SU pinkish CS that I had
die cut with CUTplorations "Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangles Die"
which is back in stock:-)

Added image to SU Whisper White 100# Card Base.
Added one rhinestone to center of flower and Done!
I loved how the image pops and hope you like it too.
Thank you Shery for the free digi and the chance to relax with my coloring:-)

You have all month to play along.

Also you have all month to participate in the August Sale!

Happy Stamping and Coloring...Hugs!

CAS Stencil Card Challenge: Sprays

Come join us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge using Sprays hosted by
the very talented DT girl Robyn!

We have two very creative Guest Designers this month.
Hilary (fiddling about) and Amy (Miss_Lomax_Art) plus of course our talented DT girls.
Be sure and check out their beautiful card samples and there are videos
if you need help with techniques.

My Distress Oxide Inks Sprays card.

And a Close Up showing the pretty Shimmer from the craft spray!
Much more Shimmer in real life.

My positive image did not work out,  but...

I took a look at the Magenta Sunflowers Stencil and realized I had
a lot of the Picked Raspberry ink still on the stencil and did not want it to
go to waste so turned the stencil over onto a piece of Whisper White 100# CS,
which gave a beautiful monoprint of the sunflowers:-)

When dry I sprayed with Sheep Shimmer Craft Spray:Frost.  So pretty.
Next sprayed a scrap piece of Whisper White CS with Wilted Violet.
Then die cut piece with CUTplorations Birthday Word Die.

Stamped SU It's Your Birthday "happy" sentiment using Wilted Violet.
Popped up main image with White Craft Foam onto SU Whisper White 100#
card base and did the same with die cut Birthday that was attached to die
cut foam and popped up "happy".

This was a fun CAS Stenciled card using sprays.  Hope you get to join our challenge
this month.  You have until the 24th to play along. Hugs...
