Christmas in July Tissue Paper

My 4th card for this month's CAS Mix Up Tissue Challenge :-)  But celebrating Christmas this time!

Using Stamping, Alcohol Ink Acrylic Tissue Paper, Die Cuts

Who would guess that tissue paper techniques could be so much fun and creative :-) Not only I am loving the creativity and all my finished cards using my stack of tissue paper backgrounds,  but...our wonderful DT and GD Sue  are too.  And...our Gallery is growing daily!!!

My card was so easy.  I die cut the corner of  my card front using my Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media Christmas Die set.  There are 2 more dies in the set for more future Christmas cards.

Next I placed my Alcohol Ink Acrylic Tissue Paper background from my stash behind the die cut card front.  Then I die cut SU Cucumber Crush CS using the same die again and inlaid the green leaves.  Worked great.

Next I die cut the Merry using a scrap piece of my background and stamped the christmas.  I plan to make more of these cards for Christmas.  I love the CAS design and still have plenty of Christmas colored backgrounds in my stash :-)

Here is the link to my 1st tissue paper card using the same background technique.  It has the detailed steps if you are interested.

I am adding my card to a couple of Christmas in July Challenges.....

CAS Mix Up January Liquid Colours

Wishing all of you creative stampers a very Happy and Healthy 2017.   The CAS Mix Up January Challenge is Stamping + Liquid Colours + Your Choice.

I used Stamping, Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper and my choice..Die Cuts

Here is a Close Up to show all the beautiful Alcohol Ink Colours....

I am sharing a wonderful Alcohol Inks on Yupo Paper Video by our very talented Loll (Stamping with Loll).  I made my background piece using Ranger Alcohol Inks: Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange and Watermelon and spritzed with Blending Solution on a sheet of foil.  Then smooshed my Yupo paper...just like Loll.  I spritzed the remaining ink with more Ranger Blending Solution and smooshed another piece.  The 2nd piece turned out lighter.  Both backgrounds are very pretty.

I then took my 1st alcohol ink sample and die cut using my new SU "Sunshine Wishes Dies".  The heart, love and flower are from the die set.  There are 7 dies in the set.

I then die cut my SU Whisper White card front using my CUTplorations "Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies" using the largest die 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

I placed my card front in my MISTI and arranged the SU "Sunshine Sayings" stamps and heart, love and flower dies.  Next I stamped my SU splat image from the same set (behind the heart) using Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral.  Next stamped the sentiments using Archival Jet Black ink.

Added my Alcohol ink die cuts and Swan Lake Little Things sequins using SU Fine Tip Pen.  I placed a large clear block over my sequins for a secure attachment.  This works great!

I then attached my card front to my SU Whisper White Thick card base.  This card will be used as a Thinking of You card,  but could be used for several different occasions.

I hope you can join our CAS Mix Up January Liquid Colours Challenge.   There are Amazing samples by all the DT and our very talented Guest Designer Trina (My Crafting Closet)  You have until January 24th to play along with us.  Don't forget to make your card Clean and Simple.

Happy New Year and Happy Stamping my friends.  Hugs

CAS Die Cut Copper Tree

Here is my CAS Mix Up June Reminder Card using Stamping + Die Cuts + Acrylic Block Watercolor Stamping with Zig Markers and Alcohol Inks on Copper Tree.

This card was so much fun...I know I say that a lot,  but anytime I am stamping I am having fun!

I was playing around with swiping my Zig Markers onto my Acrylic Blocks and then spritzing with water and Stamping onto Arches 140# Cold Press W/C paper,   I  also played with some die cut copper pieces.  Coloring them with Adirondack Alcohol Inks.  I used Salmon and Pink Sherbet Alcohol Ink to bring out the pinks and orange glow on my heated copper die cut tree.

The Sizzix "Medium Pine Tree" Die Cut was laying next to my watercolored piece and I said, "Wow,  I like that..."  Yes,  sometimes I talk out loud to myself!  I Die cut the layers using my MB Stitched Rectangles and Die Cut the SU Christmas Greetings Peace.  I Die cut the Peace twice for extra thickness using Arches Cold Press and W. White Thick then used my Zigs to color the Whisper White Thick layer.  I assembled my card using dimensionals and used my SU Fine Tip Glue Pen for my Die Cut Peace.

I realized after all that assembling that I had not stamped an image...not sure if my acrylic stamping counted so.....I searched my Christmas stamps and found the perfect little stamp "& Love"  from SU's  "Holly Jolly Greetings."  One thing I never get rid of are Sentiment Stamp Sets! I used my MISTI for perfect placement and Archival Black Ink for my "& Love." This set is still available and is in the new SU Annual Catty June 1st 2016 to May 31st 2017.

I am so happy with how my Die Cut Christmas card turned out.  Hope you like it too.  Enjoy and Happy Stamping. You still have until June 24th to join our  CAS Mix Up June Challenge :-)

Ivene's 100th Birthday!

Close Up of Shimmer on Ivene's 100th Birthday Card!

My twin sister Margie and I have been invited to our Godmother Ivene's 100 Birthday Party :-)  Now that is a HUGE accomplishment !  I had so much fun using my new SU "Number of Years" stamp set along with the SU Large Numbers Thinlits Die Set.  The stamp set has 29 photopolymer stamps and the Die set has 11 Dies.  Both very versatile!

I used SU stamp pads and markers and my MISTI to color and place the images exactly where I wanted them.  I then added Wink of Stella to the tiny flowers and painted "gold" Viva Inka Gold over the So Saffron die cut numbers.  The flowers and numbers shine beautifully.  So pretty IRL!

Isn't Ivene a classic tough Norwegian born in North Bend, Oregon ?!?  Love you Ivene !

My card is for 2 favorite Challenges:

CAS Alcohol Stenciling Inlaid Hello !

I had so much fun trying out a new "Alcohol Ink Background" using Adriondack Alcohol Ink Refills and a Ranger "Dylusions" Stencil.  My girlfriends Loll, Bonnie and Susan were playing with alcohol inks too.  I went to SCS Tutorials Alcohol Ink Backgrounds for a starting point.  This was my 1st time to use Tim Holtz Adironndack Alcohol ink refills and "Yupo"polypropylene paper.  I was able to get both at my local stamping and craft store :-)

Even though I ended up doing my own thing with the inks,  the tutorial was very helpful.  I wanted to incorporate a stencil so I placed my stencil over the Yopo paper and dropped 3 colors of ink over the stencil then blotted with paper towels without removing stencil until ink dried .  I kept the colors light.  Then when dry I replaced the stencil and painted very loosely with a paint brush Christmas Green Acrylic paint over the background.  I loved the effect so stopped there !  I used my entire 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece for my finished card.

I die cut 2 layers with my MB Stitched Rectangles dies and then die cut and inlaid my SU Hello "Greetings" Thinlits Die after die cutting and painting with the acrylic paint.

I added a Dream brad from my embellishment sewing box and a rhinestone.  Really fun and creative card and yet CAS with Mixed Media.  My only stamping was inside my card.  My card is for two favorite  Challenges.
