CAS Watercolour Bird on a Mug!

Birds and Spring Go Together!
The perfect Challenge Bonnie...Thank you!

Distress Oxides and New Stamp Sets, what fun!

Recently I received a new order from STAMPlorations and and had
so much fun playing with my new stamp sets!

I began by Splashing (Video by Loll) a background using Distress Oxides inks:
Fossilized Amber, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans.

Then had so much fun stamping my images using my 3 new stamp sets:
all available at STAMPlorations.

Next I framed my piece with SU Perfect Plum Core-Dinations CS (ret)
and popped up with fun foam.

Such a quick and fun 5" x 5" square card.  I sent my card to Shery Russ,
owner of STAMPlorations,
which she has received and she said, "brightened her day".

Be sure and check out the awesome samples by the CAS Watercolour DT and GD.
You have until the 24th to play along.  Hugs...

CAS Watercolour Reminder: Bird!

You still have until the 24th to play in our CAS Watercolour Bird Challenge!
There are so many beautiful Bird cards from our awesome DT and Guest Designer.
Be sure and check them out!

Recently I played making several ATC's (Artist Trading Cards..2 1/2" x 3 1/2").
I used my CUTplorations "ATC Tag Builder" die to die cut my Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

Then the fun began watercolouring the cards.
On this ATC I used TH Distress Oxide inks: Fossilized Amber, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron.

I used Loll's Smooshing and Splashing Techniques on each ATC just varying the colors.
The trick to Distress Oxides is to ALWAYS let each layer dry.
When done I did flick a few water drops with my hand.

BTW,  if you want a real creative treat,  go to Loll's (Stamping with Loll) blog and click on
her Tutorial Button.  Loll's videos are short, professional and filled with samples:-)

Next I stamped my STAMPlorations "For the Birds" bird using Archival Jet Black ink
using my MISTI and added a doodled border with my 05 art pen.
Then stamped my sentiment in MISTI.

I die cut an ATC window in my 4" by 5 1/4" SU Thick Whisper White layer
and popped up with foam tape onto card base.

Used Tombow glue inside aperature and placed ATC.  Then attached my black die cut MB "Woodland Branch" that I partially cut down with end of branch on outside of frame.

I added a rhinestone eye for my pretty bird and Done!

Sharing another card I made recently using a red version of my ATC background.
I still have 2 more backgrounds to play with in the future:-)  Enjoy!

Do hope you can play in our CAS Watercolour Bird  Challenge.
Hugs..

CAS Mix Up April Reminder

Time for our CAS Mix Up Reminder Card Samples from our DT and very talented
Guest Designer, Hideko (Papercraft Boutique)

Here is my Rubber Band Technique + Stamping + Die Cuts Card.

I found an unused card front layer that I had watercolored with Distress Inks
onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper in my stash.

I had used the inking direct to acetate block technique.  I used TH Distress Inks: Barn Door, Peacock Feathers and Broken China and then spritzed with water
and stamped onto my mixed media paper.
Then used my aqua painter to help spread the ink around.

Next I masked my piece and added narrow rubber bands to my brayer,
then rolled my brayer over my Versamark pad and heat embossed
with Wow Bright White EB Powder.

Next I die cut the piece using my PB "Antique Frame" die.
Then die cut 2 MB "Sketch Daisy Dies" using SU Black CS and attached together
with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen for a thicker flower.

Attached flower over heat embossed Rubber Band background with Tombow
liquid glue.  It is a stronger glue and worked great.

To my surprise,  I stamped my SSS "Bouquet of Thanks" sentiment
with Archival Jet Black ink several times using MISTI
and it worked over the heat embossed background:-)

Popped up my main image with Fun Foam to SU Thick Whisper White card base and Done!

I really liked the results and was happy to use a background from my stash:-)
I am really liking the Rubber Band Techniques for a different and easy CAS background design.
Thanks so much Julia for choosing this technique. You have until the 24th to play along!
Hugs..

CAS Mix Up Rubber Band Birthday Card!

Another Rubber Band technique card.
Such a fun technique for our CAS Mix Up Challenge
hosted by Julia. Awesome samples by the DT and GD Hideko.

Here is my card!
Playing with my new Bisters Pigment Powders and Rubber Bands!

I began by using a paint brush to carefully add small amounts of Yellow Bister Powder on Fluid 100 Hot Press paper and then Red Bister powder
around the outside of the Yellow.

Then the magic began by spritzing water with my TH Mister over the powder
and watching the powder explode with different colors.
I loved the results.

I then wrapped small rubber bands around a small square acrylic block and stamped
with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow Bright White EB powder.
Then turned my block and repeated process to get the look of a flower.

I then die cut the Bisters piece using my AliExpress stitched partial circle die.
Next used the same die to die cut the SU Very Vanilla Thick card front
and attached image on the back with scotch tape.

I found a small die cut flower in my stash that had been colored with magicals.
It was perfect for the center of flower and matched the red Bisters perfectly.

Next I placed my card front in MISTI and watercolored my PB sentiment
using reconstituted Red Bisters and a paint brush.  A perfect watercolored match.
Then stamped "greetings" with Archival Black Ink.

Popped up my card front onto SU Very Vanilla Thick card base with fun foam and Done!

I had no idea Rubber Band Techniques were going to be so much Fun!  Thanks Julia.
You still have until the 24th to play along.  You will be glad you did:-) Hugs...

Focusing on Sentiment!

It was fun making a Christmas card Focusing on the Sentiment

Here is my Red and White Christmas Card.

I used Strathmore Bristol paper and sprinkled lightly with
Color Burst Pigment Powder: Alizarin Crimson and spritzed with water.

After drying with my heat tool,  I spritzed with reactivated Lindy's Magicals spray using Peony Scarlet Red.  It has a pretty glimmer.

Dried again and smooshed some SU Real Red diluted reinker to tone down the pink.

Next I stamped my STAMPlorations Typografia Christmas Stamp: "Christmas in the Heart"
as my focus sentiment using Stazon Black ink.

Die cut my piece using my CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die.
Added a few sequins and popped up using fun foam.

I am happy to have another card for my Christmas Stash:-)
If you like sales be sure and check out Shery's at STAMPlorations this month!

CAS Christmas Card Challenge: Ornament!

I am thrilled that Loll and Bonnie have started their new
CAS Christmas Card Challenge. You have until the 24th to play.
Be sure and check out the gorgeous cards from the Design Team and Guest Designer.

Here is my Faux Enamel Ornament Card!

I had so much fun making faux enamel ornaments!

Aren't they amazing?  I ended up making 9 more ornament cards using the same design as above!

I used an old electric grill with a small heat resistant craft sheet (cut from larger sheet) laid onto low medium heated grill.

My twin sister,  Margie took my photo while I was making ornaments:-)
Eat Sleep Create Repeat!

I took photo of Margie die cutting!

I used this YouTube Video for my faux enamel technique.

I die cut SU Coaster Board (Ret.), which is a little lighter than chip board
using my SU "Holiday Ornaments" Dies.

Then I layed one ornament on the heated craft mat and used a small spoon
to add a generous amount of clear embossing powder.
Let melt, then added "old" mica powders in gold, blue and red.
Lifted off hot ornament with metal palette knife and placed on craft mat to cool.
I used the same technique on all my ornaments varying the colors of mica and glitter.

The more you play with the technique the more ideas you get.
I had overflow melted pieces that I saved and added to some ornaments while embossing powder was still hot and then melted and stirred the melted powder with a metal skewer for little designs.
Be sure and die cut extra shapes.  You can't make just one...guaranteed!

My CAS card design was very easy.
I used MISTI to stamp my SU "Ornamental Pine" (ret) pine branch
with SU Mossy Meadows and Garden Green stamp pads and Soft Suede marker.

Next I stamped sentiment from SU "Calm Christmas" (ret) in Versamark
and heat embossed with SU Gold EB powder.

Added gold cord to ornament and attached to card with Tombow glue
and popped up ornament with dimensionals.

Attached main image to SU Gold Foil
and attached to SU Thick Whisper White card base and Done!
I was very pleased with the results:-)

Enjoy and Happy Christmas Card creating!  Hugs...

CAS Watercolour Bird Challenge

Our April CAS Watercolour Bird Challenge is hosted by Bonnie.
Such a fun early Spring Challenge, my friend:-)
Be sure and check out all the fabulous Bird cards by our talented DT
and awesome Guest Designer, Stef (Perry Papercrafts).

You have until the 24th to play along!

Here is my card using 3 die cut birds on a branch!

I am loving my fairly new STAMPlorations "For the Birds" stamp set (my sentiment)
and coordinating CUTplorations "For the Birds" dies.

Bonnie's CAS Watercolour Challenge is perfect for both these sets.  You will be seeing more:-)

My birds and branch were die cut out of a Cling Wrap Brushos and Bisters pigment inks
background from my stash.  I used Brushos: Turquoise and Brown
and Bisters: Blue Black pigments on Strathmore Bristol paper, spritzing liberally with water,
tipping the paper to get the wet ink to run and blend.

Then placed a Cling Wrap (Saran Wrap) piece that was larger than the paper,
over the wet pigment inks and then scrunched up the wrap to move the inks around and add lines.

Next tucked the excess wrap under the piece and set aside to dry.
Be patient...can even let dry overnight.

I set aside my cool die cut birds and dry embossed my SU Thick Whisper White CS
background using my SU Woodgrain EB Folder for added texture.

If I was thinking ahead I would have stamped my sentiment 1st before the dry embossing,
but my MISTI saved me...I repeat stamped my sentiment and got perfect coverage
using Archival Jet Black ink:-)

Then I attached my birds using Tombow liquid glue and popped up
my main image with fun foam onto my SU Thick Whisper White cardbase and Done!

I was so pleased with the CAS design and Loved the Birds!!
Hope  you get to play along too.  You have until the 24th.

Hugs..

Here is my Brayered Rubber Band Gold Tinsel heat embossed card!

I did a major reorganizing in my craft room recently and found this leftover piece of Brayered Rubber Band Gold Tinsel from 6 years ago.  I knew we were going to be doing this technique soon.   So this card was such a CAS quick and easy card to design.  I loved the results too!

Thanks Julia for hosting this really cool technique.  I am looking forward to making more cards with this technique.  I just wrapped narrow Rubber Bands around my brayer.  Brayered
my Versamark pad and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel EB powder.
It is such a pretty shiny and glittery Gold background for my die cut Thank You.

I die cut my window with my Dianamics Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die.
Die cut the main image layer with my PB Antique Die.
Next placed my layer in my MISTI and stamped my sentiment with Archival Black ink.

Then attached my Rubber Band layer behind my window and attached my black die cut PoppyStamps Thank you.  I die cut 2 black cardstock Thank you's for more thickness.
I used Tomboy glue to attach Thank You,
weighting down with my acrylic block until dry.

I then popped up my main image with fun foam and attached to SU Thick WW Cardstock.
I hope you join us for this really fun and easy technique.
