Splitcoaststampers TLC675 hosted by Karen!

Our dear friend, Karen (Snippet) is hosting the Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC675)
this week.  Her technique is "Acetate Inking."

Here is Karen's card!

Here is my card using the same technique!

I already had die cut my CUTplorations "Art Happens" out of a scrap piece of Alcohol Ink on Yupo  that I planned to use. So I chose Distress Ink colors that were close to the same colors for my Acetate Inking background.
I used Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Seedless Preserves and Mermaid Lagoon.

I used Karen's photo tutorial and description of Acetate Inking
and followed closely for my background.
My only difference was I used Distress Inks and not Distress Oxide inks.

Next I stamped my Mug over my inked background using Archival Jet Black ink and my MISTI.  Then die cut my main image with CUTplorations
Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

Attached my die cut sentiment using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and attached main image to fun foam and to SU Thick Whisper White card base.
My last step was to trace around the "Art Happens" with my 05 Black Art Pen and then Done!

I really had fun with this quick "Art Happens" card design..
Thanks so much Karen for always inspiring us!!

Be sure and check out Karen's TLC675 on SCS.  The growing gallery is inspiring too!

  6. Art does happen on your card, Nancy! Beautiful and fun acetate inked background! You did well with matching the Distress ink colors with the Alcohol Inks. I think the extra step of tracing around the die-cut sentiment with your black pen makes a big difference in definition. It's subtle but effective! Hugs.. Hideko

The acetate inking technique looks very cool. I like the effect! There is so much fun to be had with inks and paper!
