CAS Mix Up Cling Wrap Magicals!

Isn't it fun trying new techniques!

I am adding another new Cling Wrap Technique
to our CAS Mix Up January Challenge!

Here is my Birthday card using Magicals Mica Powders with Cling Wrap!

Here is a close up of my Magicals Mica Powder Cling Wrap background!
The shiny crinkles are so Beautiful!

To make my background I added a bit of one color of my Lindy's Stamp Gang Prairie Wildflower Magicals Set, which was from SSS,  onto my craft mat
and spritzed liberally with water.
Next I smooshed my Strathmore Mixed Media paper into the ink.

While still wet I added a 2nd Magicals color and then placed a larger than my paper piece of
Cling Wrap over my wet inks and scrunched up the wrap to make crinkles.

I left my piece to dry for a couple of hours.  Removed the wrap to see a gorgeous
shiny, crinkled background:-)

I used my SSS "Birch Column" Die to cut my Gmund Woodgrain CS from CutCardStock that was a gift from my dear friend, Leslie (Running with Scissors) along with matching envelopes:-)  Thank you again, Leslie.

As most of you know my DH Denny is a lover of all nature, but especially trees and CAS designs.  He is also having a milestone birthday this month...75..OMG!

I attached the birch tree column using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and
then stamped the OMG using MISTI and hand drew the 75 and Done!

A fun card to make and look at with all the shine and textures from the Magicals, cling wrap and pretty paper.

Enjoy and we would love to have you join us this month at CAS Mix Up.  There are so many Stunning cards and techniques from our very talented DT and GD Christine (It's a card days night).

You have until the 24th to play along! Hugs...

I am adding my card to CAS Watercolour  January Challenge: Happy Birthday.

  5. OMG what gorgeous woodgrain cs Nancy. Perfect match for the birch tree cutout and now the background - love the colours you used for this super technique and such a beautiful result. I am going to visit a craft friend in a few weeks for a 10 day craft retreat at her house (just the 2 of us) and must remember to try her Magicals out.
