CAS Christmas Challenge: Christmas Birds

The CAS Christmas Card Challenge is Christmas Birds,  hosted by the
very talented, Christine.  This months Guest Designer is Anita.
You will love Christine and Anita's wonderful bird cards.

Here is my Dove Christmas card.

I used a SU retired beautiful Dove from the "Calm Christmas" stamp set.
I had tucked this die cut SU retired Christmas designer paper in the
stamp box several years ago:-)

A very QCAS card design.
I used my MISTi to stamp the Dove onto the DP with Distress Oxide
Fired Brick ink and because the ink stays wet for awhile I heat embossed it
with SU Clear EB Powder.  I love how it made the dove pop and shine.

Next stamped STAMPlorations Shirley B's "Layered Christmas Sentiment"
with Archival Jet Black Ink.

Attached main image to SU Whisper White 100# CS and popped up with
Craft Foam and attached to SU 100# CS and Done!

My card is a CAS 5" x 5" format,  which I do not use very often,
love the more elegant look.

Hope  you get to play in the CAS Christmas Challenge too.  An awesome
challenge for adding to your Christmas stash:-)

Love and Hugs...

Twofer Card Challenge #29: Butterflies

There is still time to play until the 24th.  So many Gorgeous and Creative Twofer
Butterfly cards by Dolly's talented DT and Followers:-)

I was totally inspired by DT Girl,  Marcia's post to stamp and pencil color on Tan paper
and her Split-4 Technique,  which makes 4 card fronts.

Hope you like my cards,  Marcia, Dolly and friends!

I used the same stamped and die cut butterfly from the STAMPlorations "Fluttery"
stamp set for both cards.

I stamped with  Versafine black ink the pot of flowers and butterfly
onto the Tan Mixed Media paper,    Then die cut both with the "Fluttery" die cuts.

Then the fun began using Prismacolor pencils to color the images.
I loved the ease of pencil coloring over the Tan MM paper.

Next I die cut the pot of flowers into my tan card front and inlaid my colored image.
Then die cut the card front with CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch
Rectangle Nesting Dies.

Stamped the sentiment and  shaped the pencil colored butterfly with stylus
and then popped up the butterfly with mini dimensionals and
attached to 100# white cardstock and done.

I loved the rich colors I was able to achieve with the pencils on Tan MM paper!
******************

Here is the Split-4 Stamping Technique Video by Creative Treehouse that
Marcia shared on her blog .  I used the same SU "Forever Fern" stamp set.
Be sure and check out the video.  A fun and easy technique to get 4 card fronts
to finish into cards.

To finish my card front I die cut my border with the
Spellbinder Hemstitch die and stamped the sentiment from the same fern set.

Next stamped,  die cut and Zigs colored the butterfly,  which I shaped with a stylus.

Next I attached card front to a layer of SU Garden Green CS and
attached to SU Whisper White 100# Card base and done!

Sharing a photo of the 4 card fronts I made using the Split 4 technique.
The top 2 card fronts are upside down so you can see how I stamped in a circle
the Forever Fern images.

Thank you again Marcia for inspiring me to try the techniques I used for my Twofer cards!
Thank you Dolly for the pencil coloring technique and your awesome Twofer Butterflies
Challenge.  Thank you for reading my long post!
Hope some of you are inspired to try these techniques.
Stay Safe and Creative,  my friends.  Love and Hugs...

CAS Mix Up Distress Crayons

Bonnie's hosting CAS Mix Up Gelatos or Crayons Cards Challenge with awesome samples
by our DT and very talented Jenny (My Paper Epiphany)

I was thrilled to see Bonnie's Challenge.  It inspired me to get out my rarely used
T.H. Distress Crayons:-)

Used Distress Crayons + Stamping + Dry Embossing, Sponging and Die Cut

I had so much fun watercoloring my stamped images using my Distress Crayons.
I used the technique from this YouTube Video by Debbie for Ranger:6:32.

I used Strathmore Mixed Media Paper to Dry Emboss my SU "Woodgrain" EB Folder and then lightly colored with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Crayons.
Then moved each layer of color around with Baby Wipes.

Die cut my background with MB Stitched Rectangles Die.
Then stamped my SU "Flowering Fields" (ret) using Archival Black Ink.

Next added a little crayon color to my craft mat and spritzed with water.
Using one color at a time and a #2 paint brush,  colored each flower.
I used Distress Crayons: Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron,
Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire. Sponged Edge..with Vintage Photo.

When dry, stamped and colored the butterfly and added Signo White Gel Pen
to the the white flowers.  Stamped the Hello with MISTI.

Popped up main image onto SU Thick Whisper White CS using fun foam and Done!
I LOVED the results.  I had no idea how easy it was to use the crayons for watercoloring
and how much pigment was in the crayons.  The Colors move beautifully with a paint brush.

You have until the 24th to play along with your Gelatos or Crayons!
Be sure and check out the videos on the CAS Mix Up Challenge. Hugs..

Stamps: SU Flowering Fields (ret). SSS Bouquet of Thanks sentiment.

Time for our CAS Mix Up February Challenge hosted by our DT member,
Joanna  (Jo-Jo'sSpot).
Joanna always has the most creative and textured CAS mixed media cards!

Here is her Fun challenge!

Here is my card using Cork + Stamping + Die Cuts and EB Folder.

I started by dry embossing my SU hearts border (ret) onto the Gemund Woodland CS
Card Front. Then added the cork trim from my stash to the bottom of the card front.

Next die cut Woodland CS card front using SU "Sunshine Wishes" heart die.  Used same die to die cut the Cork.

Next I used a scrap of white Woodland CS and sponged with Distress Inks: Festive Berries and Barn Door.  Then Die Cut with same heart die.

I attached card front to SU Thick Whisper White card base, so I could inlay
the red die cut heart and inlay die cut cork heart.

Then die cut the LOVE from same die set and attached.
Stamped sentiment using my MISTI onto back of scrap of Woodland CS,
so the colors would match, attached sentiment and Done!

My 1st Valentine for the holiday:-)  Fun using the cork that I have had forever!
Speaking of forever.. the punched heart was my very 1st Michael's purchase years ago!

Merry Christmas Die Cuts!

Are you finished with your Christmas Cards?

This is one of my last Christmas cards for 2017 and I Love it!
Such a fun way to end the year:-)

There was still one NBUS die from my T.H. Mixed Media Christmas
Dies set just waiting to be used.  Also a pretty Alcohol Inks on Acetate background with shades of  green,
that was sitting next to the die.  They were meant for each other!

Merry Christmas to all my 2017 Stamping friends!

Sharing a Close Up of the shine and glitter!

As many of you know...I Love Alcohol Inks on Acetate with Tissue Paper background.
And I love Dies.  I die cut the holly leaves and berries (notice the detached holly pieces) and set aside.

Next I die cut the leaves and berries on SU Thick Whisper White CS and then die cut the border using Penny Black "Antique Frames" (largest) die.

Then die cut the same Antique Frame on another piece of SU WW CS to attach under the die cut holly layer.  Then the fun began..adding all the die cut pieces like a jigsaw puzzle.

I wanted red not green berries, so I die cut the holly leaves again using SU Cherry Cobbler CS
and carefully placed the red berries.  All the inlay pieces were attached with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Next I die cut my sentiment with Poppystamps "Old Fashioned Merry Christmas" Die using Cherry Cobbler twice for Merry and Green Alcohol Ink scrap twice with WW CS for Christmas.
Attached 2nd layer to Merry and Christmas and then attached to card.

Popped up main image with Fun Foam and Done!
Love the results.

Enjoy and Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday Season with family and friends!

Hugs,

CAS Mix Up December - Your Choice

Our last month of CAS Mix Up Challenges for 2017. Hosted this month by Loll!

Ina (Little Bits of Craft) is our crafty Guest Designer for December.
Be sure to check out her beauty and the DT's samples.

Stamping + Monoprint Stenciling, Heat Embossing, Die Cutting and Dry Embossing
are my choices!

Close Up showing Heat Embossed sentiment and holly Stenciled Monoprint!

Here is my Stencil Monoprint Technique.

Turned over ARTplorations Mini Holly Stencil onto my craft mat and swiped the back of stencil with Distress Oxide Inks:
Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Charm.

Spritzed ink liberally with water.  Then placed CUTplorations ATC Tag Builder Die Cut, Strathmore Bristol paper layer over inked stencil.  Used a paper towel to rub firmly over the paper to get a good impression of the Holly Stencil.
If you look closely to the photos you will see the holly and berries designs.
I really like the 3 shades of green too.

Next I placed my background in MISTI and stamped the STAMPlorations Typografia Christmas "Christmas in the Heart" sentiment with Versamark, removed from MISTI and heat embossed with SU Cherry Cobbler EB powder.

Framed with SU Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and popped up with fun foam onto SU "Softly Falling" Dry Embossed Whisper White layer.
Attached to SU Thick Whisper White card base and done.

I was inspired after seeing Karen's (Snippets) recent Christmas Stencil Monoprint Card to use a Stencil Monoprint design for a Christmas Card.
Here is Karen's beauty! Thank you for the inspiration my friend.

I made a 2nd card using Typografia Christmas "Peace, Love and Joy".  Two quick and easy cards for my stash.  Getting very close to enough cards:-)  Then I can start baking!!

Enjoy and do come and play along with us at CAS Mix Up until the 24th..."Your Choice"!

Day 6 Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll & Friends!

Loll is half way thru her Twelve Day Christmas Tag Event!

Six more days of inspiring tags from Loll and her Guest Designers.

But you have until the 24th to link your Christmas Tags!

Here is my Day 6 Holly Tag!

I love how my sweet holly tag turned out using a favorite SU retired 2 step stamping set..."Watercolor Winter".  I used it with a trendy technique...placing my die cut tag in my MISTI and arranging the solid leaves and berries stamp and coloring with Garden Green and Real Red markers then spritzing lightly with water and stamping.

Next I arranged the lined stamp and stamped over the leaves and berries with Archival Jet Black ink.  I loved the watercolor effect.  I used the same steps for the stamped upper part of the tag.

I kept the tag in MISTI and arranged 2 sentiments from Penny Black "Holiday Snippets" stamp set and stamped with Archival Jet Black ink.  Added Real Red silk ribbon and white twine.  Done.

A pretty little tag for a tray of cookies:-)

Hope you get to play along in Loll's tag event.  A fun way to get your Christmas Tags done ahead!
So much awesome inspiration from Loll's and her Guest Designers daily Tags!

Splitcoaststampers TLC656 Watercoloured Tissue + Embossing

Sabrina is hosting this weeks SCS TLC656 Watercoloured Tissue plus Embossing Challenge.

I love any tissue paper technique,  so had to play along:-)

Here is my Watercoloured Tissue Paper plus Metallic Gold heat EB card!

I used Loll's (Stamping with Loll) wonderful Tissue Paper Watercolouring & Techniques You Tube Video for my background technique. Do not miss Loll's awesome video.  You will learn so much and be hooked on tissue paper techniques:-)

I used SU Daffodill Delight, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango Classic Dye Inks to watercolour my tissue paper.  I swiped the inks onto my craft mat, spritzed with water and layed my 6" x 6" piece of tissue over the inks and then carefully picked up and layed onto a paper towel.

Next let dry then scrunched up into a ball and opened leaving lots of  scrunched wrinkles.   Brushed Golden's Gel Medium onto a 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of mixed media and attached carefully my scrunched watercolored tissue paper.  I weighted down with an acrylic block for good attachment.

I then used my embossing buddy on my piece and carefully rubbed Versamark ink on the raised ridges,  sprinkled on Gold Tinsel EB powder and heat embossed.  Wow...Lots of pretty gold glitter!

Added a twice die cut CUTplorations Birthday Word Die and attached with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and weighted down with acrylic block until dry and secure.  Stamped my "Happy" sentiment from SU "It's Your Birthday" using Melon Mambo ink and attached with same glue and weighted down.

When everything was perfectly dry and secure I popped up on a piece of fun foam and attached to SU Thick Whisper White card base and Done!

Thank you Sabrina for a fun tissue paper technique.  So pleased you liked my sample for the DTGD17 Challenge.  Here are My DTGD17 Tissue Cards.

CAS Watercolour Silhouette CASE!

I had so much fun CASE'ing my CAS Watercolour DT girlfriend, Karen's (Snippets) beautiful acrylic stamped watercoloured background and silhouette stamped beauty!

Karen's Gorgeous card!
Click on "Snippets" above for Karen's description!

Here is my card using Karen's technique.  TFS and always inspiring me my friend!

I inked my long acrylic block with Distress Inks: Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves.   I used only one color then spritzed with water.  Next I swiped one color at a time onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

After dry I stamped using Archival Jet Black Ink onto SU "Just Believe" stamp 2 times reinking between stamping.  Then stamped off for a light background image.

Then I placed my piece in MISTI  to stamp my 2 new Penny Black "Happy Snippets" sentiments. There are 37 choices of sentiments in different fonts that you can mix and match for many occasions. This is a very versatile set,  which are my favorite!

Next I die cut my piece using another new PB product.."Antique Frame" Dies. Then die cut mixed media paper with a larger  antique frame.  I popped up my main image onto that frame using fun foam.

Then attached the layers to my SU Thick Whisper White card base.  I loved the results.  Thank you again Karen for your beautiful technique and inspiring card.

My card is for our CAS Watercolour September "Silhouette" Challenge.  I just had to play again!

CAS Watercolour July Butterfly Challenge

Playing again in the CAS Watercolour Butterfly Challenge.

Who can resist butterflies?  They are everywhere the month of July.  They love all our flowers this time of year.  The colors, shapes and sizes are so beautiful.  Can't say I have ever seen a butterfly like the colors I chose,  but I really wanted to try the Bister Powders that my girlfriend Christine shared with me at our Retreat in May.

What do you think?   Kind of an artsy look for my butterflies and background?

I took a piece of Mixed Media paper and lightly sprinkled on the blue Bister and spritzed with water. Let dry and then did the same with the black Bister.  I really liked the background.

I then die cut my stitched circle and punched out the butterflies with my Bister background and again with SU Basic Grey CS.

Next I shaped the butterflies using my bone folder and attached the butterfly layers using my SU fine tip glue pen.  I added drops of Nuvo white blizzard drops to the butterflies and set aside to dry.

Then I die cut my card front and added a fussy cut layer.  I attached the circle layers using fun foam and added to card front.

I attached my 3 butterflies and added the stamped and fussy cut sentiment to the circle background.  I am not sure it is a favorite card,  but I do like it.  I will definitely be using the Bister's again.  Thank you Christine for sharing.  It will last me a long time.  A tiny bit goes a long way :-)

Be sure and check out all the awesome CAS Watercolour Butterfly cards from the DT and our GD. You have until July 24th to join the fun.  Enjoy your Summer & Butterflies!  Hugs..

CAS Mix Up July Tissue Paper

I am playing along again with the July CAS Mix Up Tissue Paper Challenge.

The DT has discovered there are so many fun techniques using Tissue Paper. I smooshed using Distress Oxides onto  Deli Paper.  Let dry between layers and smooshed again...several times until I got the background I liked.

Here is my finished card using my background.

I did not glue my background onto a piece of cardstock.  I just tucked the sides under and added scotch tape.  I liked the added texture.

I die cut a frame using Shimmery White CS and attached the tissue background then popped up with fun foam.

Next I die cut my "happy" twice for extra thickness and stamped the birthday using Archival Black ink and added a few sequins.  Then I attached my card front to Very Vanilla CS.  The Shimmery White CS looks best with vanilla because it is an off white. I love the subtle shimmer.

That was it...so easy and I loved the texture from the tissue paper and layered Distress Oxide Inks.

I did not use a video for my card technique.  Just did my normal smooshing technique and instead of watercolor paper I used deli paper :-)

Be sure and check out the amazing cards, techniques and videos on the CAS Mix Up Challenge.  You will definitely be inspired ! You have until July 24th to play along.  Happy Stamping..Hugs..
