Time for our Group of Seven Cardmakers September Dry Embossing
Click on link above for all the technique details and card samples by the cardmakers:-)
The Video is a must see!!!!
I began by creating 6 backgrounds using Distress Ink Re-inkers,
I finished 4 backgrounds into cards and I am saving the other backgrounds
for future cards:-)
I loved all 4 cards, but I think this is my favorite:-)
I went step by step following exactly the video for each background!!!
Card #1 Supplies
Stamps: None
Paper: Fluid 100 Hot Press Watercolor Paper, Neenah Solar White Crest Smooth 5" square cardbase.
Inks: Distress Ink Refills: Wilted Violet, Broken China, Tumbled Glass Scattered Straw. VersaFine Clair Nocturne Pigment Ink.
Accessories:Glass Mat, # 12 paint brush, Spellbinders "Beautiful Blooms" 3D EB Folder. STAMPlorations HUGS Die. Craft Foam to pop up image. Connect Glue.
TIP: I used the tip in the video to use paper towels and rubbing alcohol to clean the black ink off the 3D EB Folder. It worked great..just be sure to have enough paper towels handy. You can control the messiness:-)

WOW is right, Nancy! Gosh, you really got bright colors - do you know I don't own ONE distress reinker! I love that your images almost glow - happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLooks like this was a fun and creative time spent with your Group!

Your cards are AMAZING, my friend. I LOVE the vibrant colours of your images --- WOW indeed! :) I agree with you, the first is my favourite because of the colours. The others are gorgeous too, but I guess I'm a purple fan! :) You got amazing coverage with the black background ... good idea to wait for the right ink to use. I think other pigment inks might work and I will experiment with this more as I have a few black inks I haven't tried yet. :) LOVE the card you made especially for Denny ... happy 58th, my sweet friends!! xx
ReplyDeleteNancy you did have fun with this technique :) All your cards are beautiful and I love your colour combinations. Yes I agree Versafine Clair works really well because it's so juicy and stays wet longer.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, Denny's going to love his card xx
I just love the embossing folders you used for your cards Nancy - as well as the mix of ink colors - particularly adding the Scattered straw in with the blue and purple on your first. You certainly go wonderful coverage with the black as well - I agree Nocturne Versafine Clair works best on these. wonderful tips as well! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so vibrant using reinkers. Your cards are all stunning, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards - all of them!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards!! Love them!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! The technique looks so interesting, but I, too, have no reinkers! thank you for sharing all your tips!
ReplyDeleteYou made four gorgeous cards, my friend! Your color combos are beautiful and work perfectly with the embossing folders with this technique! Happy Anniversary to you and Denny!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, love the second card with the vibrant reds and oranges, reminds me of the Eucalyptus trees when they are burning... shame that many require fire to regenerate and for seeds to be viable. Thank you for the inspiration, Megan in Aus
ReplyDeleteEvery one of your cards came out beautiful. I love your color choices and the embossing folders you used. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAll four cards are absolutely WOW cards, Nancy! You've achieved wonderful results with this technique. The color combos of the inks are so beautiful on each card, and the black ink coverage of the backgrounds is excellent. I love how you used the same background pieces for your die-cut sentiments. It adds a sense of cohesion to the cards. Thanks for your inspiration, as always! I hope to try out this technique myself sometime soon! Hugs.. Hideko
ReplyDeleteTFS your sweet comment, my friend. I can't wait to see your twist on this cool technique. I had wonderful results following the video. I thought Bonnie's most recent card she made using her own twist was really cool and less messy:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
DeleteYou got great results from the technique, Nancy. Beautiful colours on all of them, but I'm with you - the first one is my favourite too.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, these are fabulous and to think I almost missed them too. So glad I double checked as I was clearing out my emails. xx
ReplyDeleteIt has been so cool how several of the GO7 girls have used different variations of the original technique too. I think you would really have creative fun trying out the technique too, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
DeleteWOW factor is right! You got amazing results. Thanks for all the tips. I don’t have that exact black pigment ink so have not tried it for fear of staining my EFs. May need to go shopping. 😉😂*lol*
ReplyDeleteAnd happy 58th anniversary to you and Denny!
Thank you, Trina for your sweet comment. My new pigment ink sure made a difference. I just used Devid's tip on his video and cleaned my 3D EB Folder immediately with rubbing alcohol and paper towels...cleaned right up:-) I hope you get to try the technique, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
DeleteOh wow Nancy, the colours you used on all four cards really pop against the black! I really want to have a go with this technique but have no distress inkers OR black pigment ink! Might have to go shopping...! Happy anniversary! Hugs, Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicky for your sweet comment, my friend. Can't wait to see more photos of Eva and Lulu playing together..must be a busy playful time for you now that you have 2 full time beautiful loving Golden's:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
DeleteOMGosh, Nancy, these cards are all gorgeous! I love the second card as well as the first, but you must know the first is my favorite. It wowed me when I opened the envelope. Totally amazing. You did this technique so well. I just had to stop by and comment even though we've talked. I'm trying to get back on track here. Hugs!
