Favorite Fall Flower

I love the STAMPlorations "Helenium Large" stamp flower,  which is a daisy like flower perfect for Fall stamping:-)  I have always loved the colors of Fall and just about all Fall Flowers,  so have chosen this flower as my Favorite Flower to celebrate...The Flower Challenge's 1st Birthday!

Congratulations to Aileen and her awesome Design Team!

Here is my "A Little Bit of Sunshine" Helenium card!

My card is also for CAS Mix Up October Layering Stencils + Stamping + Your Choice..die cutting and fussy cutting Challenge hosted by Julia!  You have until Oct. 24th to play along!

I layered 4 stencils using Distress Oxide Inks and my Clarity Brush onto Arches Mixed Media.  Then stamped my STAMPlorations Helenium flower using Archival Black ink onto Strathmore Cold Press paper that I had smooshed with Distress Oxides: Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber and Candied Apple.  I used all these colors except the Candied Apple for my stenciling.

I then fussy cut my flower and spritzed with water and moved the water with a paint brush to blend all the colors for a pretty Fall Flower.

Next I die cut my layer with my Penny Black Antique Frame and sponged the edges with Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade.   I popped up my flower with dimensionals.  Then placed my layer in my MISTI and stamped my Penny Black Happy Snippets sentiment.

I finished my card by popping up my layer with fun foam and adding Wink of Stella to my flower.

Done and I really liked the results.  Hope you do too.  Happy Fall my friends...Hugs!

  5. Beautifully layer-stenciled background, Nancy! And I LOVE the smooshed rich fall colors of the Helenium! You can see yellow, orange, red, and the mix of those colors here and there in the flower. The sponged edges bring the flower into focus in a subtle way. Hugs.. Hideko
