Debossed Inky Resist Technique by the Group of 7 Cardmakers

Debossed Inky Resist Technique

Here is my finished card using The Debossed Inky Resist Video that the GO7 provided!

I highly recommend that you watch the video several times and go to the GO7 Girls
sample cards for more awesome technique samples.

I used Altenew Pine Forest 3D Folder for my Debossed image, then heat embossed
with WOW Opaque Bright White EB powder.

Next Smooshed the Debossed Inky Resist 3D Folder
Image trees with Faded Jeans, Rustic Wilderness, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks
and then the same Distress Oxide inks following the video directions.

I did not like the smooshed inks above the trees,  but was happy with the inks below
the trees.  I trimmed down the trees A2 image.

Luckily I had smooshed the leftover inks on my glass mat onto Mixed Media paper.
I used one piece to add a background to my trimmed Debossed Inky Resist trees.
Then I was happy with the results.

Stamped the SSS "Messages for Everyone" sentiment Get Well Soon onto a scrap of
the background then attached using Connect Glue.

Attached the main images to SU Basic White cardbase and Done!

Now that I have one background created using this artsy Mixed Media
background technique...I can't wait to make more
with different Dry EB Folders:-)

Thank you for visiting and do try this cool technique!!
Love and Hugs,

  2. Gorgeous pine forest card, using the debossed inky resist technique, Nancy! The colors of your smooshed ink background are so beautiful! Great idea to trim down the trees and to leave the area you liked. I thought you separated the trees from the background on purpose! The ink-smooshed sentiment strip pops beautifully against the opaque bright white trees. You and Group of 7 ladies inspired me to try the technique! :-) Hugs.. Hideko

  6. Great card, Nancy. I love the color combination you used and that e/f is really pretty. I'm so glad you tried it. Some folders work better than others and I had several not good ones that didn't make it!

  8. I do want to try this technique, but it won't be for another week or so. The results are different every time and the description of the process seems different. Definitely going to watch the video. I love how your card turned out! Cool idea to cut the trees panel to make a layered card. The blues are beautiful. Bet you'll be trying this again!
