Happy Holidays dear friends and thank you for your comments and playing along with us this year.
Grateful for you!
This SSS "Tumbling Leaves Stencil" is one of my favorites gifted to me by a very special friend. I attached to Strathmore Mixed Media paper with 3M masking tape. Much of the stencil is Off the Edge.
I used a Makeup Brush to blend the colors with Distress Oxide Inks then realizing .... Whoops I did not use watercolors..no problem easy fix.
I replaced stencil and used Derwent Watercolor Pencils to color the leaves.
I loved the results. Next I stamped the T.H. Wildflowers silhouette image using Versamark ink and heat embossed with my new T.H. Distress EB Glaze: Cracked Campfire and heat embossed. Another gift:-)
I then used Spellbinders "Rectangle Hemstitch Die" to die cut the A2 border. Used MISTI to stamp the STAMPlorations "Bloomfully Thankful" sentiment. Attached cardfront to SU 100# cardbase and Done!
We would love to have you join our challenge. Love and Hugs..

ReplyDeleteWhat I wanted to say was that your pencil coloured stencil looks fab and the Wildflower silhouette is simply a stunning colour!
That was a good save with the pencils and what a beautiful result, love it xx
ReplyDeleteGreat save, Nancy, and it turned out so beautiful! Love the silhouette stamped over top, and the glaze is a dream. Gorgeous all over!
ReplyDeleteGreat save Nancy with a fabulous result. Such a unique and beautiful card x.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Nancy! I love the tumbling leaves stencil (one I happen to have also) and the colors you used! The wildflower, embossed in crackling campfire, gives such a pretty look along with the hemstitch framing!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite stencils too and I love how you've done it in Fall colors, Nancy! That fiery red flower is gorgeous and so is the pretty framing!
ReplyDeleteGreat catch with the watercolour pencils :) Beautiful fall colours and love that stencil.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully stenciled and watercolor penciled leaves, Nancy! The big stencil is perfect for the off-the-edge design. The added wildflower silhouette is so pretty and the colors beneath the glaze slightly showing through is so cool! Love the wonderful design! Hugs.. Hideko
ReplyDeleteGreat save adding the watercolour pencils to the stencil! Love the layering of the wildflower using the embossing glaze!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty Nancy with the leafy stencil background and the wildflower silhouette over the top. Also, every time I see that hemstitch die, it flies straight to the top of my wish list!! I love reading about your creative process and can definitely relate to getting all carried away and realising I'm off brief lol! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful soft and delicate card. Derwent and Nancy to the save, well you've created a beauty. The design is clean and an air of freshness, I can see why you love this stencil. I will miss you dear Nancy, but will come visit regularly, our paths will most certainly cross again, stay SAFE xx

Great work with watercolouring your leaf stencil with watercolour pencils. I love the soft shades of Autumn and then the bold colour of your wildflower stamp. Gorgeous framing with the hemstitch die. xx

DeleteSo pretty! Great save Nancy and a wonderful off the edge card!
ReplyDeleteI love how you changed this to a watercolor. Very clever and it inspired me since I sometimes forget it has to be water color for the challenge. The fall colors look so beautiful and the embossed die cut adds to the beauty of the card.
