Already time for our CAS Stencil Card Challenge Reminder Cards
Loving all the gorgeous and creative cards by out talented DT and in
the growing gallery by our friends:-)
My Card using Lindy Magicals with a leaf stencil.
I made my Magicals Powdered Ink stencil background at our May 2018 Retreat.
I used Loll's Lindy Magicals, so do not know the names and Christine's
leaf stencil. Again no name, but think it was a TCW Stencil.
I tried hard to get a close up photo of the Lindy Magicals shimmer, but no luck.
If you are familiar with Lindy Magicals you know there is gorgeous glimmer on my card.
All I did was die cut my background with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Die
and used MISTI to stamp with Versafine Black ink my STAMPlorations
Say it Big "Simple Life" sentiment and heat embossed with SU Clear EB powder.
Next popped up image with fun foam onto SU Whisper White Thick CS card base.
And Done!
My 2nd card using the negative Stenciled Magicals background.
Loll's Stencil Powdered Video (8:16) is a great example of how to make positive and
then a negative background at the same time.
Always a plus to end up with a Twofer!
I finished this negative background by die cutting the card front with Penny Black
Antique Frame Die and set aside. Then die cut the SU Whisper White Thick card front.
Next place die cut image in MISTI and stamped and heat embossed
SSS sentiment (Bouquet of Thanks).
Attached white frame to card base with 3M foam dimensionals.
Then Inlaid main image and added die cut frame.
I loved the de-pressed look of the card front.
Like my 1st card I could not get a photo of the pretty Magicals Shimmer.
Enjoy and hope you play along with our new CAS Stencil Card Challenge.
You have until the 24th to play along.
Hugs...Nancy

Striking colour variant of the Lindys Nancy and such a fabulous leaf stencil. Great to get the positive and negative cards. The bold sentiment on the first card looks so striking against the fabulous background x.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you used on your stencil for these two cards Nancy - the positive print looks great behind that bold black sentiment - and the negative print is more light and airy! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous leafy stenciled panels, Nancy. I love both the positive stencil card with the large black sentiment ... and the negative stencil (monoprint) card with the antique framing. Both are gorgeous! Stenciling makes for very fast cards, which is a bonus! Great challenge Nancy. Lots of beautiful powdered inks stenicled cards in the gallery! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Loll. I am loving the amazing and creative cards in the gallery too. I am also Loving your CAS Stencil Card Challenge:-) Hugs..
DeleteTwo wonderful twofers, Nancy. The leafy stencil is beautiful and your colour choices are perfect. The large black sentiment is a nice contrast on the first. Love the framing with the Antique Frames in the second. xx
ReplyDeleteI LOve the colors that you've added to your mix, Nancy! Looks like I'll have to drop by to try them on for size - don't I just wish!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous cards! xx

I made my Stenciled Magicals backgrounds last May at our retreat. Sorry I do not know what colors I used. LOVED the results on my finished cards. WE do have fun! Hugs..Nancy
DeleteIt's so much fun seeing the retreat makes pop up throughout the year. I love that leafy background :) Two beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteWas the leafy background your stencil, Christine? I wish I knew the name. It might have been a retired stencil. We sure do end up with LOTS of backgrounds and techniques to play with thru out the year:-) Can't wait to see you again in May, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
DeleteThanks for hosting this totally fun and inspiring challenge Nancy, there are so many different techniques using powdered inks with magical results.. love the colours on your cards (which ever Magicals they were) and gorgeous stenciled background only needed your bold sentiment to make it a real eye catcher.. reverse print is way cool too
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Robyn for your sweet comment. I am loving all the gorgeous and creative cards in the gallery. Hugs..Nancy
DeleteLovely stenciling and great colours - love the way you get two out of one by using the negative and positive! The new stencil challenge is such fun.
ReplyDeleteI agree, such a fun and inspiring challenge. Thank Susan for your sweet comment. Hugs..Nancy
Delete2 gorgeous cards Nancy, love the colours, don't have magicals but I can imagine they shimmer beautifully in real life. Fun challenge thank you, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Nancy, you do amazing things with the powdered inks! Lovely colours and design.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Lindy Magicals, but if you say it shimmers and glimmers I certainly do believe it! I can clearly see how beautiful and warm the colors are, and I do love the leaf pattern. The positive/negative cards are a real plus. After putting all that ink on the stencil you might as well get another card out of it!
ReplyDeleteI still have the cards so can show you IRL, my friend. We need to get together in the near future. Hugs..Nancy
DeleteBoth cards are so amazing! Love the pos-neg technique! Powdered inks are now on my want list!
ReplyDeleteGreat soft colors and beautiful cards. I love that frame around the second card.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful card, my friend! Love the colors of the Lindy's you used and I know they shimmer beautifully! Isn't it fun to get two gorgeous pieces with one use of this technique!
ReplyDeleteThis is just YUMMY, Nancy! The colors are glorious and I know the shine and shimmer of the Magicals! I love both designs and sediments! I'm especially loving the way you cut the frame and then reset it on your second design ... gonna make note of that idea, so thank you! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteBoth are beauties dear friend. Brushos just don't get this incredible pigment granulation. Hmm, maybe they should be on my bucket list ;)
ReplyDeleteSame stencil but 2 different and wonderful presentations, brilliant on your part. Loving this colour palette. TFS xxx
Both leafy stenciled panels are gorgeous, Nancy! The Magicals' colors and effect are wonderful. With shimmer IRL, they must look much more amazing. The large black sentiment is so effective on the colorful panel. And I love the de-pressed look of the second monoprint card. You achieved creating a totally different feeling from the first one by using the feminine antique frame die and the small (and thinner font) sentiment. Fantastic towfers!
ReplyDeleteHugs.. Hideko
You rock that technique Nancy... These are two beautiful and arty cards!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, these are GORGEOUS samples of that technique. I'm really loving what you've created. Both are works of ART!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are inspiring. I particularly like the second one, such a great idea to cut the frame like that, it works brilliantly xx
ReplyDeleteBoth are beyond beautiful Nancy. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe sentiments are perfect for your two backgrounds (which are wonderful!).
