CAS Mix Up Bokeh Challenge Reminder

Be sure and check out the awesome CAS Cards by our DT and
our very talented Guest Designer, Viv (Viv's Visuals).

My card using Bokeh Technique, Stamping, Die Cutting, Heat Embossing.

I used the same technique as my Bokeh launch card with the help from
this Create a Beautiful Background with the Bokeh Technique video
by keenan Kreations (6:32).

I began by sponging Stathmore Mixed Media with Distress Inks:
Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and Candied Apple.
I was able to get a real saturated background and dried with heat tool.

Next I used Kaiser Craft "Bubbly" Stencil to sponge my different sized circles with
Versa Magic Cloud White pigment ink. Drying often with a heat tool
to avoid smearing, The video is really helpful for this Bokeh technique.

I then die cut the background with 2 sizes of Memory Box Stitched Circle Dies.
I made sure the outer frame matched up with the inner circle.
I attached Bokeh circle background to my Gemund "Woodland" specialty paper.

Next attached the Alexandra Renke Spring Flowers Dies and Magic Butterfly Die that were a
gift from my dear friend Bonnie. I did use my stylus to give shape to the butterfly.

Placed card front in MISTI and stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink
and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder and Done!

I learned from this background to make the Bokeh circles farther apart,
which I did with my launch card.  I still need more practice,
but have enjoyed learning the new (to me) technique.

You still have until the 24th to play along.
This is my last month on the CAS Mix Up DT,  but I will still be playing
along in this awesome challenge by Loll and Bonnie.

If you have checked out the new CAS Stencil Card Challenge by Loll

  6. Wow Nancy, this coral colour bokeh is the perfect soft BG for this lovely all white butterfly and flowers. What a great idea to double cut the circle, giving a beautiful frame without addition. Thanks so much Nancy for all your support. I've loved all your techniques making us better card makers. Though you'll not be far, you will be missed. Warm hugs xx

  7. Oh, Nancy, this is gorgeous! The bokeh background, the colors, the dies -- wow! I also love how you did your stitched circles with one a frame and a second circle inside so you got the doubled stitched look. You even matched up the stitches. Great detail! Love this!

  12. The coral Bokeh background is so pretty with the white flower and butterfly die-cuts, Nancy! I love how you used the stitched circle dies for your card. That framing is simple (not distracting) and yet adds so much interest.
You'll be missed but I know you'll be with us in the gallery. :-)
