My New Years Resolution...to start my 2019 Christmas Cards in January!
I love the CAS Christmas Card Challenge for inspiration
and amazing CAS Christmas designs by the very talented DT and GD.
Christine is hosting this month and chose Blue & Silver for her theme.
Here is my card
The most difficult part of my card..photographing the dry embossed silver foil!
Out of at least 20 photos I got One with the true colors and not too much glare.
But that is all I needed, right?!?
I die cut the SU Silver Foil paper with Penny Black Antique Frame Die.
Next dry EB the snowflakes with Sizzix EB folder.
I have never tried that before and it worked great.
I used CUTplorations Warm Winter Wishes Phrase for a die cut sentiment.
I die cut the phrase twice with Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
Then die cut a 3rd time and painted with reconstituted Lindy Magicals
Tweedle Dee Denim.
Attached all layers with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and weighted down with large
acrylic block until dry.
Popped up Silver foil background with Fun Foam and attached to
Gemund Woodland CS for added texture.
Attached Warm Winter Wishes to foil with Fine Tip Glue Pen
and weighted down with block and Done!
Thank you Christine for a fun Christmas Challenge. Card #1 for 2019:-)
You have until the 24th to play along.
Hugs..

Beautiful, beautiful card Nancy!! Love the embossed silver layer (and yes, it is hard to photograph!!) and the lovely Lindy's Magicals die cut sentiment! And YAY...your 2019 Christmas card collection is started!! Thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us at CAS Watercolour!! :0)
ReplyDeletethe photo was worth all the effort Nancy, love your embossed foil the snowflakes are the perfect background for your sentiment. thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteIt was worth the time and effort to get this great photo, Nancy! The dry embossed snowflakes on the silver foil look beautiful. I've never dry embossed foil paper, but this card inspired me to try it. I love both the style and the color of the die-cut Lindy Magicals sentiment! It'll be on my shopping list. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe layers of different textured paper (watercolored, dry embossed foil, and woodgrain) are what make this cool card. TFS, my friend! Hugs.. Hideko
Nancy, this is wonderful! For those of you that stack die cuts, I'd love to learn it without having a mangled, distorted mess. Love your enthusiasm as you create these fabulous cards. It's contagious.
ReplyDeleteI use SU Fine Tip Glue Pen for die cuts. It is especially helpful with detailed die cuts because you can just add tiny dots of liquid glue and then my other trick...weight down with acrylic block and let dry. Only takes a minute or two. These tips make working with stacked die cuts sooo much easier and less stressful:-)Thank you nancy for your sweet comment. Hugs..Nancy L
DeleteThis is gorgeous Nancy!! I LOVE how the silver is your main colour with just the small highlight of blue. Really elegant! The silver foil takes embossing so well. Those snowflakes are very deep and so crisp and clean. Beautiful card, my friend. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
ReplyDelete... and thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI know just how difficult photographing that must be but you got a great shot of a fabulous card Nancy!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! It can be so hard to photograph the gloss and get it all just right, but you succeeded and it looks fabulous! Love the embossing and chunky sentiment on the wood grain card base. I have just the thing I wanted to make for this challenge, but not sure I'll manage. Too many irons in the fire. Love getting a head start on Christmas. You go, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteFabulous blue and silver! Such a great icy winter look!
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning card, everything worked perfectly to turn out a gorgeous Christmas card! Thank you for sharing this at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWell doe you on starting your Christmas cards and what a wow card it is. The dry embossed flakes on the super shiny foil looks fabulous. Hard to photograph but it truly looks amazing on line X
ReplyDeleteThe snowflakes embossed on the silver foil make a gorgeous card, Nancy! I love the deep impression of the snowflakes and the wood grain background grounds them beautifully! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning design, Nancy! This is a run-your-finger-over-it kind of card! It's so textured and, of course, I also love how schparkly it is! Hope your new year is starting out great!! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteWow, Nancy. This is striking and you managed to capture its beauty in the end. The EF dry embossing on a woodgrain card base provides so much fabulous dimensions. Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas. x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous effect with the foil embossing and good pic! The watercolour blue sentiment really pops and makes the card:)
ReplyDeleteI know that I am cheap but I use the foil that comes on top of my yogurt or sour cream container
