CAS Triple Challenges: Stars, Thank You and EB Resist!

I created this shiny shimmery star background in minutes using a leftover die cut
Memory Box Stitched Circle Trees Die.

I already had this piece of SU Specialty DSP that had embossed stars.
All I had done was sponge the paper with Distress Ink Faded Jeans
and sprayed with Sheet Shimmer Frost Spray.

Then scotch taped to the back of the die cut tree scene.

Used MISTI to stamp and heat emboss the SSS Thoughtful Messages and done!

Literally a 10 minute card because of all the leftovers:-)
The card is a 4 1/4" square format.  Perfect for a Christmas gift thank you.

Since I had all my supplies and more leftovers out on my desk, I made a Twofer:-)

My 2nd card is for the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge.

The SU Specialty paper had copper embossed dots that looked like snow falling.
I had already sponged with Distress Inks: Broken China and Faded Jeans
and then gave it a light spray of water to blend the colors.
I think it turned out beautifully.  I did use my sponge to blend the colored streaks.
The DSP is a glossy paper so blends easily.

Assembled the same as Card #1.
BTW, did pop up main image of both cards with fun foam.

Stamped and heat embossed the Thank You on this card too and Done!

Just realized both cards are using an Emboss Resist Technique on the backgrounds.
So these cards qualify for the CAS Mix Up Emboss Resist Challenge too:-)

Emboss Resist, Stamping and Die Cutting.

You have until the 15th to play along in all the CAS challenges.
Thank You Loll, Bonnie, DT's and GD's for a Inspiring 2018 of CAS Designs.

Merry Christmas dear friends and wishing you a wonderful holiday season
with family and friends.  Hugs..

  2. As "Christmas approached, the town became gorgeous".
Christmas song flows, and a roadside tree is displayed with gorgeous neon.
I am excited just to walk the town. "

  14. Nancy, what a pretty shimmery star background for the first card! Faded Jeans and the Shimmer Frost Spray make a gorgeous color & texture for the crisp white die-cut trees! The background sky of the second card is so unique with the copper snowfalls. The ink blending is so smooth and the color combo of blue, copper, and white is fabulous! Love the square shape.
I used to buy a lot of DSP but haven't used them very much, so thank you for your inspiration! Hugs.. Hideko

    1. Thank you Hideko for your sweet comment. I have made myself NOT buy any DSP for a couple of years, but this was a freebie SAB paper I could not resist. I am now glad I ordered the beautiful paper. Perfect for the EB resist technique and CAS designs. There are still I think, 4 more designs I have not used. Hugs..Nancy
