CAS Mix Up Metal Reminder cards hosted by
The very talented Mac (The Sweetest of Peas). Be sure and check out
the amazingly creative cards by our DT and talented GD, Pat (Colourful Card Creations).
There are also several videos showing metal techniques to inspire you.
Using Alcohol Ink on tin foil + Stamping + die cutting and Bisters Stencil Monoprint.
I have been saving my tin foil I have used for Alcohol Ink smooshing.
I made this card in February 2018 using a scrap of foil and then
dry embossed after seeing my friend Christine use this cool technique.
dry embossed after seeing my friend Christine use this cool technique.
I had planned to use the same technique on my Metal Reminder card, but decided
I really liked the crinkles on the folded up foil in my stash.
I found in my stash this cool "Dots All Over" ARTplorations Stencil Monoprint
Background from our CMU August monoprint challenge:-)
Background from our CMU August monoprint challenge:-)
I die cut the background.
I then die cut several leaves from the Alcohol Ink stained foil. Chose the oak leaf
and then die cut all the leaves with Black CS. Saved the extras for a future project.
Attached the foil leaf to the black leaf using Tombow Glue
and weighted down with an acrylic block to dry.
I stamped the sentiment and die cut, then popped the leaf image up on dimensionals
and added the sentiment layer.

Sharing a close up so you can see all the gorgeous shine and dimension of the leaf!
I am so happy with my foil leaf card. Thank you so much Mac for an awesome Challenge!
Hope you all get to join the fun too. You have until the 24th to play along!
Hugs..

Love those stenciled colorful dots behind your beautiful wrinkled fall leaf Nancy! Lovely mix of fall colors on your leaf - and it looks great with the black framing around it! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteYour crinkled alcohol inked leaf is so pretty, Nancy! I love the rustic look the folds give and all those pretty fall leaf colors for the dots in the background!
ReplyDeleteThe crushed foil makes a gorgeous leaf Nancy. The alcohol ink colours are beautiful and perfect for this time of year. The black layer adds a nice shadow to give your leaf lots of dimension. And of course, it all looks fabulous on the dotty background. Great work!! xx
ReplyDeleteWOW, an impressive leaf. Love the colourful stencilling behind, it compliments the centrepiece brilliantly. So appropriate for this time of year. Great dimension in your beautiful design, xx
ReplyDeleteSimply breathtaking Nancy. Beautiful result you achieved here. Thanks for sharing how you made this amazing card.
ReplyDeleteNancy your colors through the stencil are so pretty. I just adore all those specks of colour, and I love your leaf. i still love saving foil to use this way :)
ReplyDeleteI love both cards, Nancy and using aluminum foil has been my favorite for years. What cool die cuts it makes when crinkling it up. Your leaf is just gorgeous! Love the dotted monoprint in the background too!
ReplyDeleteOh such fabulous cards Nancy! I love the crinkles in that gorgeous leaf and you gave it the perfect BG too!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the Black cs frames the crinkled leaf, and the fun multi-coloured dotty background!
ReplyDeleteI love the crinkles! I read once that tin foil helps sharpen your dies. Don't know if that's really true. How could it be? The polka dots are cute with this, and the colors coordinate perfectly. Also love the sentiment. The script is great and it's something I say all the time. Good to have sentiments that sound like your own words. Thanks for your birthday wishes and congrats, Nancy. I'm thrilled to be back with Power Poppy on this super easy schedule. It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh Happy Day, my friend! TFS your sweet comment. BTW, I think the foil was suppose to help sharpen punches, but I never thought it helped! Hugs..Nancy
