Now it is Time for our CAS Mix Up Reminder Cards!
You will be so inspired by our DT and talented GD Marianne's (Marianne's cards 'n stuff) samples.
Here is my card using Canvas, Stamping and Dry Embossing over scrap of Alcohol Inks on Foil.
I am so happy with my photo. I did not even need a close up. The shine on the Alcohol ink and foil and texture from the Canvas showed up beautifully. Our dear friend,
Bonnie gave all of our DT samples of Canvas last Spring.
They are perfect for our February CAS Mix Up Challenge hosted by Joanna:-)
Several months ago I dropped Alcohol Ink onto foil (Reynold's Wrap) and added blending solution (or can use 91% rubbing alcohol) and then I spread around ink with a palette knife. Then Smooshed with Yupo (can use glossy paper) paper in the alcohol ink. I got several backgrounds.
My friend, Christine showed me how to save the foil with the leftover alcohol ink for another cool technique. My card is the beautiful result of what I would normally throw away.
Thank you for the save my friend.
I cut a piece of the leftover foil to tuck around a piece of thick cardstock.
Then dry embossed with my SU Happy Heart (ret) EB folder.
Added fun foam to the image and plenty of adhesive tape to the back of foam.
Added SU Silver thread to the sticky back for a bit of embellishment
and attached 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Canvas to SU Thick Whisper White Card Front.
Next attached my sentiment which I had stamped using Archival Jet Black ink onto canvas using MISTI. It took 3 stampings for complete coverage. Attached sentiment to scrap of fun foam,
then added a SU Candy Dot (ret) and Done!
I loved the results..especially all the pretty shine!
Our CAS Mix Up Challenge ends on the 24th so plenty of time to still play along. Be sure and check out all the very creative cards using Felt, Cork and Canvas. Thanks again Joanna for your awesome challenge.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great foil save, I couldn't wait to read your blog. Your card definitely caught my eye. Such a beautiful shine with various shades from your AI. Your "petite" canvas is perfect for your sentiment, great stamping. The silver thread ties it all together, thank you Nancy xx
ReplyDeleteHow do you seal the AI on the foil?
Amazing result, so pretty and creative. Love the idea of dry embossing the foil and using the inks....A Stunning result x
ReplyDeleteawesome texture on the canvas and love your AI foil background with the hearts. Fun way to use everything :). I also love your silver loopy thread.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shine and texture on your focal panel! Love the canvas sentiment and the canvas layer on your card base!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice effect with the foil, and you have backgrounds to spare! Love the canvas covering your card, too. Lots of pretty texture and color on your card, Nancy!

ReplyDeleteThe foil piece makes a powerful impact! Love your card!
ReplyDeleteanother stunner! something else to try....
ReplyDeleteWhat a great AI foil save, Nancy! The shiny AI result looks interesting by itself but dry-embossing the foil makes it even more interesting. The impression of the sentiment is clear and crisp. It was worth stamping 3 times, wasn't it? The organic-feel canvas card front is a great contrast to the metallic center panel & silver thread too! AND the photo is fabulous! Hugs.. Hideko
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a stunning result and so perfect!
