I am still in the making Christmas Cards Mode, our December CAS Watercolour Anything Goes Challenge is perfect for adding more Christmas Cards!
I am so excited that my friend Hideko (Papercraft Boutique) is our Guest Designer this month. Be sure and check out her beautiful card along with our DT's cards.
Here is my No-Line Watercoloured "Perfect Pear"!
I had so much fun watercoloring my Penny Black "Perfect Pear" image using Distress Inks.
I began by placing my Arches Hot Press watercolor paper in MISTI.
I placed my stamp on the paper and closed MISTI door and then opened to begin coloring this beautiful stamp with Distress Inks.
I inked up the entire stamp with Tea Dye Distress Ink and stamped onto Hot Press paper. This was dark enough to show all the details of the stamp. Next I swiped Peeled Paint onto my craft mat and used my SU Aqua Painter to paint only my leaves adding more color to areas of leaves I wanted darker.
When done I added Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade to the lighter areas for a touch of Fall color using the same technique.
Then I began watercoloring the pear using Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon starting with the light and then onto the darker shades.
Next I used Vintage Photo to watercolor the stem of the pear.
Then used Prisma color pencils to add veins to the leaves and lightly outline the pear.
The stamp has a few splatters and I drew a few more using SU Delightful Dijon marker.
Next I stamped the Noel using Vintage Photo.
I placed my Penny Black Antique Frame over my finished pear and die cut the image cutting off just
a bit of the bottom leaves and decided then to cut the next size larger die for a frame.
The main image is popped up on fun foam.
I showed my card to my DH, Denny and he said, "You painted that...? That is
the most gorgeous card you have ever made..well, at least in the top 5!"
That made my day!
I have hidden the card in a safe place and it will be Denny's Christmas card.
We will both be happy...now I can keep my card in the family:-)
Enjoy and Happy Holiday Stamping.
You have until the 24th to join the CAS Watercolour Challenge.
Hugs...
