Here is my Mixed Media Love tag for Day 2 that I made for my twin sister Margie to use as a bookmark!
Margie loved her bookmark:-) It has a lot of layers and textures, but is still flat enough for a bookmark.
I started by die cutting a Tim Holtz #8 manila tag using my new CUTplorations Luggage Tag and using the largest tag of the 3 in the set. Then the layers began...
Layer #1 & #2..Golden's white Gesso and when dry I added a 2nd layer of Gesso using my palette knife.
Layer #3...mixed 3 acrylic paints: passion, fuchsia, purple on my non stick craft sheet with my palette knife. After applying paints to tag I used a plastic card to spread the textured lines. Then let dry.
Layer #4...Placed ARTplorations "Bold Florals" mini stencil over tag and added Goldens white EB paste using palette knife. Removed stencil and washed immediately. Let tag dry.
Layer #5..stamped STAMPlorations "Scribbly Splattery Grunge" set images using Archival black ink.
Then I used the same acrylic paint on a piece of scrap SU Whisper White thick CS and die cut my heart and love with my SU "Sunshine Wishes" Dies. Attached to tag using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen. Weighting down the die images with my acrylic block.
I added my SU ribbons for the final touch. I also die cut another tag with SU WW thick CS and attached to the back for a nice clean look and a sturdier bookmark.
Hope you check out Shery's newest STAMPlorations Blog Hop. So many awesome tags each day by her amazingly talented DT members. Lots of her usual prizes too! Happy Tag making. Hugs...
