Here is my card using my brand new (yesterday) CUTplorations "Luggage Tags Nesting Dies". I love all 3 sizes of the tags. I used the middle and smallest dies for my card. The largest tag in the set is the same size as the Artplorations Luggage Tag Stencil, which I have several. So fun getting new toys.
Here is the link to my 1st card using this alcohol ink bubble wrap technique and also a photo of the 3 extra backgrounds I made. One of those backgrounds I used for this new card. Already having the backgrounds and my new tag dies made this card so quick and easy. Putting the sequins on took as long as the rest of the card..lol!
I did my technique a little different than Darnell's. I dropped my Alcohol Inks onto the inside of a padded envelope, which has smaller bubbles than your normal bubble wrap packing material. I then spritzed my inks with blending solution and laid my Yupo paper over the ink with a piece of paper towel over the Yupo and pressed down with my hands to get a good impression.
I stamped my Fond Expressions sentiment using my MISTI and Archival jet black ink. I then heat set to make sure it did not smear. Do not use too much heat because you can warp Yupo paper.
I added a SU Pool Party ribbon and white baker's twine. I used SU Fine Tip Glue Pen to attach my sequins and weighted them down with an acrylic block. I also die cut another small tag out of SU Coaster Board (ret) and attached to Yupo top tag for more dimension and glued to the larger tag,
which was attached with foam tape.
My card is for several challenges besides NBUS #10.

ReplyDeleteGreat design Nancy! Your AIs are such cool colours, and they have made fantastic tags. Especially love the smaller top tag that has some colour, but also lots of white space for your sentiment. xx

ReplyDeleteSmart lady xx
Your bubbles have so much detail--amazing for a smoosh technique. At first I thought it reminded me of a cobblestone wall, but looking at it sideways, it reminds me of those indoor fountains that are hung like a frame on a wall, where the water gently cascades down and it is full of tiny bubbles. This is so striking.
ReplyDeleteI liked how my card inspired you Judy. Denny thought they looked like tire tracks...although he did like all of my bubble wrap cards..esp. the colors :-) Thanks so much my friend for ALL your recent comments...wow! Hugs..
DeleteNancy this looks amazing. I love the colours, and the bubble wrap gives such great texture. I must give this a try. Thank you for playing along with the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge xx
