2023 Valentine for Denny

2023 Valentine for Denny made with Love💖

I  used a Spellbinder Square Hemstitch Die to cut the alcohol ink on Yupo
paper background that I found in my stash.
Then die cut the SSS Stacked Hearts from Yupo so the whites would match.

I attached the pretty background to Yupo using double stick tape.
Then the challenge, attaching the die cut hearts over the background using
Gina K Connect Glue.  The hearts were not sticking!  I finally realized I needed
to weigh down the die cut Stacked Hearts,  which I did with my large SU
acrylic block for several minutes.  Worked great:-)

My loving sentiment, etc is on the inside of the card😍

I added a Yupo layer over SU Basic White card base so all my white layers
matched perfectly!

I  received a beautiful potted orchid from Denny that we get to enjoy for a couple
of months as it is FULL of many buds and a few blooms😄

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day too💘

Love and Hugs..

  3. Oh Nancy, what a strikingly beautiful card! Love your beautiful background, the delicate hearts just pop off that red. I also love how you matched your whites, it is a very elegant looking card. Orchids are beautiful flowers, if one is good, they can keep it going. I'm not so good at keeping one going. LOL Enjoy that orchid and glad you had a nice Valentine's Day! Hugs, Brenda

    1. Thank you Brenda for your sweet reply. I can keep orchids growing, but never can get them to rebloom even though I water once a week with fertilizer 3 out of every 4 weeks. Anyone know something else that works? Hugs..

  4. That 'found' alcohol panel is lovely behind all the hearts, Nancy. Isn't it a pain to match whites? There are so many variations.

  5. You pulled it off at the 11th hour and it turned out gorgeous! Clean and crisp. Glad you got the hearts to stick because they really are pretty against the background. I'm sure your orchid will look amazing in the window of your log home with the beautiful view outside.

  8. What a pretty CAS valentine card for Denny! I love that you let the color red show through the stacked heats die-cut apertures, instead of coloring the hearts in red. The white hearts and the outline of hearts pop against the beautiful AI panel. Using Yupo paper for the stacked hearts to match the color of the white panel is a great idea. Enjoy your beautiful orchid for the next few months! :-)

  9. You had the perfect background to show off these pretty, delicate hearts, Nancy! I'm sure Denny loves it, especially the sentiment inside! I've never had an orchid but I see them in the stores and they are beautiful. Something to enjoy and celebrate your love!

  12. Beautiful card that I know Denny would love. There's nothing like alcohol inks to create the most gorgeous backgrounds. Love the addition of the die-cut hearts. Great tip about weighting it down to let the glue set. Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Enjoy the gorgeous blooms from your orchid. xx
