Time for our April CAS Mix Up Challenge: Paper Piecing hosted by the very talented Linda (Life in the Craft Lane). Be sure and check out the awesome cards by our Design Team and our talented Guest Designer Bonnie (Paper Crafter at large) too.
This challenge will give you the wonderful opportunity to use some of your treasured Designer Papers too😊
My card using Paper Piecing, Fussy Cutting, Heat Embossing, die cutting and Stamping.
I looked thru my treasured favorite Designer Papers after choosing this Impression Obsession F16363 Hydrangea flower stamp. I found a 12" x 12" single sheet of Bohemia Designer Paper that I bought when our local stamp store went out of business several years ago.
I was pleased with the green and blue diagonal striped distress colors that worked out beautifully for the hydrangea.
I stamped the Impression Obsession flower image with Versafine black ink onto SU Whisper White 100# CS and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder.
Then stamped the Designer paper with the same image, ink and EB Powder and heat embossed. Next I used SU Papersnips to fussy cut the flower and stem. Set aside and die cut the image layer with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Die.
Next placed the image layer in MISTI and stamped the STAMPlorations "Life is Sweeter" sentiment designed by Dee using Archival Jet Black ink. Attached fussy cut flower with Gina K Connect Glue. Placed a large acrylic block over flower to secure it.
I then used a slightly larger MB Stitched Rectangle die on a leftover piece of the same Designer Paper to frame the main image. Attached to main image and then to SU Whisper White 100# Card Base.
One last step...blue gems from my stash from Joanne's years ago.
I placed them in the center of each flower. So simple and so pretty😊
Thank you Linda for such a fun easy challenge that I look forward to using again. I have always liked fussy cutting and heat embossing.
We would love to have you join us. You have until the 24th to play along.
Stay safe and Creative. Love and Hugs..

ReplyDeleteYou could not have chosen a better designer paper for your hydrangeas! It looks super! Fussy cutting is not my favorite thing but it's been a long time since I did paper piecing. Now you make me want to try that again.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous hydrangea, Nancy! Love the pretty paper that's the perfect colors for your flower! A lovely card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for my hydrangeas to bloom. Likely, they won't be as pretty as yours, though. You papers were the ideal choice. Impressive fussy cutting skills, as well. Lovely creation.
ReplyDeleteLove the dp you chose, Nancy - and also the fact that you bordered with it as well as using it for the hydrangea. A beautiful card featuring one of my favourite flowering shrubs!
