CAS Mix Up June: Embossed Vellum

This is Loll's 1st month of her consolidated CAS Mix Up Challenge!
hosted by the very talented Susan (Cat's Ink Corporated)
Our very talented Guest Designer is Bonnie (Paper Crafter at large)

After 4+ years it was time for Loll to simplify her challenges and her life:-)
Loll is going from 4 challenges to Two!

She combined CAS Mix Up, CAS Watercolour and CAS Stencil Challenges into
One CAS Mix Up Challenge with the 3 challenges rotating each month
on the 1st day of each month and the reminders on the 15th.

The CAS Christmas Card Challenge will still be every month:-)

The Design Teams have been reorganized with a few girls deciding to retire,  but
I am sure they will be playing along as often as possible.

We are so happy your life will be more simplified Lolly:-)
Personally..I am excited to be able to play in all your challenges now that they
have been consolidated.  So much inspiration by all the new Design Teams also.

Here is my Embossed Vellum CAS Card...Enjoy!
Thank you Susan for inspiring me to get out my SU Vellum Cardstock:-)

I cut an A2 size piece of Vellum and dry embossed with SU "Layered Leaves" Dynamic
EB Folder.  Then chose a Spellbinder Hemstitch Rectangles die cut frame to
die cut the vellum.

Then placed vellum upside down (debossed side) on SU piercing mat and used SU
stylus to trace with a bit of pressure over all the leaves and stems to raise the dry
embossed leaves even more than the EB folder.

Next used the larger end of stylus to go over the entire leaves. It gives a
wonderful white line texture to the leaves.
Then colored the raised leaves with 2 Green Zig watercolor pens.

Attached vellum layer using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen
to SU Whisper White 100# cardstock.  The green leaves hid the glue:-)
Added die cut Hemstitch frame and stamped Penny Black sentiment.

Popped up image layer using white craft foam onto Whisper White 100#
card base and Done!  Loved the results:-)

I am so happy to be back on the CAS Mix Up Challenge,  which now includes
the CAS Watercolour and CAS Stencil Challenges...Perfect!!

Congratulations on your new revamped Challenges,  Lolly!

We would love to have all our followers and hopefully new followers join us.
You have until the 24th to play along!  Hugs..

  5. Nancy, I don't know if you know this about me, but I ADORE vellum!! I love how you've managed to emboss yours without tearing - hmmm is there a trick I don't know about? Loving the simple leafy goodness of your design, my friend!

    1. I used SU Vellum CS, which a bit thicker than most vellums. I also use SU stylus, which has 2 different size tips that have nice rounded ends. Could that be the trick? Hugs..

  8. So cool to double down on the dry embossing. What a standout this makes. Your scroll script on the sentiment lends to the movement, as does the dots in the frame.

  19. Would never have thought to emboss with a stylus after running it through with an EF, but it looks great. Great idea to colour the leaves from behind too. Beautiful card and design.
