June is a wonderful time to enjoy the Ocean. Thank you Bonnie for hosting this months
I live only 45 minutes from the South Western Oregon beaches and discovered
I do not have any beach scene stamps, but my dear friend Darnell came to my rescue.
She gifted me an Inkadinkado stamp set "By the Seashore".

Now onto my Ocean Card!
I made a watercolored background and stamped and heat embossed my image. Simply CAS!
Here is my card...
I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and used the Wet on Wet coloring
technique with a wide paint brush. Then let dry overnight. I love how the colors
ran into each other. The bottom represented sand, then ocean, then sunset sky.
I die cut my piece with Memory Box Stitched Circle die then placed in MISTI and stamped
my image with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink and heat embossed
with SU Clear EB powder.
Next I popped up circle with fun foam onto SU Whisper White Thick CS.
Attached circle with tombow glue and rounded the bottom corners of card base.
I loved the background and how easy my card went together:-)
You have until the 24th to play along.
Be sure and check out all the CAS Watercolour DT cards and our awesome
Guest Designer, Robyn (Waterlily Cards)card.
I guarantee you will be inspired! Hugs...

Great post, Nancy! I'm so glad I had my camera to capture that sunny and delighted afternoon enjoying Susan's scones and her beautiful gardens! And your ocean inspiration card is so beautiful! I love how well you blended your sand, ocean, and sunset elements with your paints!! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteIt was a very special day enjoying "High Tea" in Susan's gorgeous gardens with very special friends:-) Thank you for your sweet comment, my friend. I so loved being your roomy and meeting in person, Dolly. Love and Hugs...
DeleteIt's funny how we live so close to the beach and yet I, too, have very few beach stamps. Maybe because it's usually too cold and windy at our local beaches. They're beautiful, but we don't hang out there much and so don't make that association in stamping. I much prefer the woods and mountains and gardens! You did create a beautiful sunset and the stamp is awesome. Perfect for your CAS cards. Thanks for sharing another photo of Susan's garden. You know I love it!
ReplyDeleteHurray...I got a notice of your comment by clicking on notify me:-)
ReplyDeleteI always thought I did not have beach/ocean stamps because I could just go the our beautiful beaches. We prefer in the Winter when all the tourists are gone. Our rain gear and boots are always handy!
I agree...garden, woods and mts are wonderful for photo shoots:-)
TFS your wonderful comment my friend. Always appreciated. Hugs
Beautiful colors on your lovely watercolored circle Nancy - and that simple sentiment stamp is perfect over it! Julia xx
