STAMPlorations Color Blooms Blog Hop Linky Party

Here is my 2nd card for the STAMPlorations Color Blooms Blog Hop.

Also for STAMPlorations Anything Goes Challenge

After playing in the 1st Color Blooms Blog Hop I ordered Shery's Coloring Book that has 34 pages of Gorgeous Flowers to color with any medium.  I chose my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to color one of the dahlia pages.  I loosely colored the flowers with my crayons smudging with my finger after coloring a few petals at a time.  I then cut out a 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece from my 8" x 10" coloring  book page.

I sprayed the page with Shimmery White spray.  Not only did the spray give the flowers a beautiful shiny shimmer,  but gave the flowers a pretty watercolor look.  So much prettier IRL..but isn't that always the case!

I mounted my piece when dry to a piece of SU Black Basic CS and then to a SU Whisper White Thick Card Base.  Added my STAMPlorations "Blooming Buds" by Dee sentiment and 2 NUVO Crystal Clear Drops..glittery white.

I plan on taking my coloring book on future trailer camping trips...what a fun and creative toy for evenings :-)

Enjoy...and Thank you for visiting and especially for your comments.  Hugs...

  1. This is so pretty, Nancy! Love the sketchy coloring look you gave to the dahlias :o) I should have mentioned it early on the Color Blooms hop page that projects created using the pages from the actual Color Blooms coloring book can be linked there -- your beautiful card reminded me to add that bit of info :o) Thanks for coloring with us, and have a great Labor Day weekend!

  5. Beautiful colours! And what fun to have that colouring book to play with. One of my sisters is addicted to colouring books - I should get her that one and tell her to turn the pages into cards!

  6. The Distress Crayons give a completely different look and the way you've used them it looks like an artist's sketch. Lovely card!

  8. Ah, so you are supposed to smudge the TH crayons? I wish I could say that about some other media that I have (accidentally) smudged and that didn't look good. The crayons sound like a fun thing to play with, and definitely great for camping.
