My Twofer Leaves Cards, Enjoy...
My 1st card for my Twofer Leaves Challenge.
I used the same Altenew "Leaf Canopy Die" for both cards.
I die cut Strathmore Mixed Media paper using Penny Black "Leaf Stitched Frames" die. Then masked the frame with 3M masking tape and blended Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio ink using make up brush.
Used MISTI and stamped the Altenew "Leaf Canopy" leaves with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder.
Next die cut the leaves and covered with Clear Versamark then sprinkled with Ranger Distress Embossing Glazes Fossilized Amber and Cracked Pistachio and heat embossed with heat tool.
Used Connect glue to attach die cut leaves. Stamped the sentiment from the same set using MISTI and Archival jet black ink.
Then masked the frame and sponged background with using make up brush Distress Oxide "Salty Ocean". Removed masking and attached to SU Basic Black CS to make images pop. Attached card front to SU Whisper White cardbase
and Done! Loved the shine on the heat embossed leaves.

My 2nd Card using the same die cut leaves, but different techniques.
I began by die cutting my leaves with Strathmore Mixed Media paper then sprayed liberally with water and sprinkled on Brushos crystals: yellow and green. Sprayed again with water and then blotted slightly with paper towel.
Then turned leaves over and blotted onto Strathmore MM paper several times to make a printed paper background, which gives a cool artsy impression. You can see a few partial leaves looking images😊 Set leaves aside to dry.
Then stamped outline with Archival Jet Black.
Next I die cut the layer with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle and stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Leaf Canopy set. I added a SU Basic Black CS layer then die cut it with the next larger MB Stitched Rectangle.
Added both layers to SU Whisper White 100# cardbase.
.
Then die cut the leaves with SU Basic Black cardstock and attached dried leaves and off set them to give a black shadow effect. Attached leaves with dimensional and Done! Loved how this more Clean and Simple card turned out.
Hope you can join Dolly at this month's Twofer Challenge too.
Love and Hugs..

That's such a lovely leafy image, Nancy ... set against the shiny black silhouette and soft, deep, background sponging, it really pops! What a cool, artsy effect you created on your hello card ... the die cut printing and variegated brusho colour in the leaves adds such a fabulous sense of texture! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our Guest Designer at Twofer! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteTwo GORGEOUS leaf cards Nancy!! Love both of your cards but especially the 2nd one with the Brusho's and the print making background...just lovely!! Thanks so much for playing along with us this month as a GD and inspiring all our players...you did a FABULOUS job!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteLeaves were the first thing I thought of when I saw the challenge this morning. Your techniques for both cards are stunning. I love the idea of two embossing glazes on the leaves and it looks gorgeous. The brushos make a beautiful look too. I love them both.
ReplyDeleteThose leaves are such fun, I especially love the print making...it adds such interest and movement.
ReplyDeleteTwo great card Nancy. You have definitely mastered that print making technique xx
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed admiring your cards, Nancy. Fantastic twofer! You've picked a very nice motive and used stunning techniques on both cards. Stamping with die cuts is incredible and the idea to put black die cut for a shadow effect under the coloured motive is just genious. Friendship card is great too. You achived a lot of "drama" with perfect color como and heat embossing in black.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sonja
Thank you so much Sonja for your sweet comment. I do Love the Twofer Challenges. Hugs..Nancy
DeleteTwo fabulous cards, Nancy. I especially love the second one - great print-making with the die cut for your background - such a lovely fresh look that makes me think of spring.
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Nancy, your brusho printing has to be my favourite. I love those colours :)
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic and a creative take on the Two-Fer. The first one has such vibrant color and I just LOVE the background on your second print. Thank you for the reminder to drag out my powdered inks again.
ReplyDeleteAs pretty as these are, Nancy, I feel like they are even prettier and cooler in person! I love both designs and the different techniques you used to make them both detailed and organic. Both of them deserve frames and hanging! Thank you for being one of our fabulous Guest Designers this month at TCC #36! Love, Dolly
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Nancy. This set is one of my most favorite leaves sets ever. You've used it so beautifully on both cards! Using that leafy frame on your 'friends' card really draws the eye into your amazing focal point. The black inked/heat embossed leaves is stunning. The leaves on your 'hello' card reminds me of Fall leaves. I love that watercolor-y look. Thank you for joining us as a Guest Designer at Twofer this month. Stay safe. Bev
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on guesting Nancy x. Fabulous design on your friends card and a wonderful and effective technique on your hello card. Both cards are unique and glorious Nancy x.
ReplyDeleteHey, congrats on your guest spot, Nancy! What an awesome couple of cards with your leaf die! Your print making looks fantastic with it. I would have bet money you'd choose leaves for this month's challenge!
ReplyDeleteFirst, congratulations on your win at Twofer! Love both of your leaf cards, Nancy! I'm impressed with the two colors of embossing on these leaves and the silhouetted leaves in the background! The Brusho colored leaves are amazing and I love the printed leaves in the background in the same colors! The black shadow really makes these leaves stand out!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your print making CAS Mix Up Challenge, Bonnie:-) I am going to use that technique more often. Thank you for your sweet comment too. Love and Hugs, my friend. Nancy
DeleteTwo amazing leaf cards Nancy! LOVE the first one with the gorgeous framing. Having the silhouette topped by the glazes die-cut adds so much depth to the design. The two colours of glazes look fantastic on the die-cut. Your second card is so cool with the printed background. Love the look! Beautiful design with your tilted panels --- the black adds so much wonderful contrast. xx
ReplyDeleteOops ... meant to say ... congrats on being Guest Designer this month at Twofer!! xx
ReplyDeleteCongrats and two fabulous cards... I got to say I love the background brushos on the second card
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Nancy - especially the one with that wonderful watercolour background. I'm so bad at joining in with the twofers but I'm hoping that even I might be able to get on top of this challenge! Vicky x
ReplyDelete... and how lovely to see you guesting at the Twofer Challenge too! Congratulations on your win! Hugs, Vicky x
ReplyDeleteCongrats on GD! These are beautiful leaf twofers. Love the shine from the embossing glaze on the first. Great print making background on the second with a cool design.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being chosen as Guest Designer, Nancy! I love this stamp set and you used them in completely different ways! I can imaging that the shine from the glaze embossed leaves and the heat-embossed silhouette is prettier in real life. Mixing the glaze embossing powder gave depth to the leaves. And I love the artsy Bruso print making card! Simply stunning! The tilted black matte enhances beauty of the gorgeous image on the white panel. Fabulous twofers, my dear friend! Hugs.. Hideko
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment, my friend. It was fun ending up with 2 very different cards for different occasions. All the shine really is pretty. Love and Hugs...Nancy
