My Beach CAS Card
I cut a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
Then masked the borders using masking tape.
Next used Distress Oxide inks and make up brush to blend all my colors.
Starting with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber and then Antique Linen.
Next blended in Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch then Shaded Lilac.
Then spritzed liberally with water using T.H. Distress Sprayer and blotted
excess water with paper towel. This gave the watercolor effect.
I dried with heat tool.
Placed card front in MISTI and stamped the sweet Inkadinkado "Down by the
Seaside" image, which included the sentiment using Archival Black ink.
Don't we all wish we could be down by the seaside on a hot Summer day?
I added the stamped birds from the same set.
To finish the image I used a Staedler Black Pen and ruler to add the frame and Done!
Thanks to my dear friend Darnell (aka Dolly) I had one beach stamp set that
she kindly gave me at our 2018 Retreat. Thanks again Dolly:-)
We would love to have you join us with your CAS watercolored beach cards.
Love and Hugs...

Love that sky, it turned out brilliantly. That little boy with his bucket reminds me of when my kids used to love searching the beach at low tide xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Hilary. We live only 45 minutes from the beach, so spent years going to the beach with our kids. Wonderful memories and yes, they always had a pail in their hand for their beach treasures:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
DeleteGorgeous beach scene Nancy. LOVE your watercoloured background ... so peaceful and relaxing. Great work with that Staedler pen! xx
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet beach scene Nancy, Love your NBUS stamp :)
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, this is a familiar scene, but not for many years. We still go to the beach, but now it's with the dogs. How sweet this is, Nancy! I love your blended and spritzed background, and the silhouette stands out beautifully against it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun beach scene, Nancy! Love the look of the ink blending and spritzing that's so perfect for this stamp! Those were the days when we took the kids to the beach and they collected all the treasures from the sea! A wonderful reminder, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a wonderful little scene Nancy, your background is lovely and I really like the stamp - reminds me of collecting shells when I was a child. Great card
ReplyDeleteYour card really caught my eye, Nancy! I LOVE this. The sponging is so well done and what a wonderful image and sentiment. The black border is great - something I will try instead of cutting 1/16 inch mats. This is such a peaceful scene.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, nostalgic beach scene. Your sea and sky blended so beautifully and I love the movement of the sand. Great card!
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a walk on the beach that doesn't include bringing home a pocket-full of 'treasures', Nancy! Oh my goodness is this a precious stamp! and you've created a lovely, beachy home for it!

ReplyDeleteFantastic beach scene, Nancy! I especially love the colors and visual texture of the ocean and the sky! The black sweet silhouette and the sentiment beautifully stand out against the background. The hand-drawn think frame adds definition.
