CAS Stencil Challenge: Monoprint

The CAS Stencil Challenge: Monoprint is being hosted by the very talent, Linda.

Stencil Monoprinting is one of my very favorite techniques!

Here is my CAS Monoprint Card.

I placed ARTplorations "Leaf Prints Stencil" over Strathmore Mixed Media and
secured with masking tape.  Then sprinkled Brushos Brilliant Red and Orange
pigment powders thru the stencil.  Generously spritzed with water.

Next removed the stencil carefully by lifting the edges of the masking tape.
Then flipped over onto A2 mixed media paper and placed paper towel
over the stencil and rubbed the ink gently around with my hands and
lifted off stencil.

Important Tip: Carefully blot the excess ink off the 1st Positive image
layer and the Monoprint layer. Then let Both images dry.

I should have taken photos of both backgrounds before I blotted them and let them dry.
Next time...promise...if I remember!

I die cut part of the monoprint background using my new to me Reverse Confetti,
Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cuts Die.

Next stamped and heat embossed in MISTI the Altenew "Leaf Canopy" sentiment.
Popped up the main image with white craft foam
and attached to SU Whisper White 100# Card Base and Done!

I loved the artsy look of the leaves and the framing.
Hope you can join us at CAS Stencil.  You have until the 24th to play along!  Hugs..

  14. This is such a cool way to give a stencil card a different look. I didn't notice the leaves at first and wondered by it was called Leaf Print. I must have been temporarily blind, 'cause now it's so obvious. I love the red, too!
