CAS Stencil Card Challenge: Baby Wipes Techniques.
This month hosted by our very talented Julia!
Julia has shared a video and instructions for baby wipe techniques.
You will be inspired by the Design Team and our amazing Guest Designer,
Sarah (Funky Fossil Designs)!
My stenciling over the Distress Oxide baby wipe background.
I used a piece of SU Glossy Cardstock to smoosh Distress Oxide inks onto. I had
used ink pads directly onto Glass Mat and then spritzed with water.
I dried between layers smooshing a couple more times.
I used Distressed Oxides: Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Shaded Lilac and
Blueprint Sketch. When dry I wiped off chalky film from the DOX's with baby wipes.
Then burnished background with paper towel to bring out the shine.

Next secured ARTplorations by Sanna "Peacock Feathers" Stencil
over the background with masking tape. I used Sharpie Ultra Fine Black pen
to trace over stencil.
to trace over stencil.
Then die cut the image with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Die.
Next I added a new STAMPlorations Clear Sticker sentiment from the "Hey, Sunshine" set.
Popped up main image with Craft White Foam.
Die cut a white layer of Glossy CS and popped up with Foam and added each layer
to SU Whisper White 100# card base.
I had a leftover image background and so punched a couple of pretty butterflies
using SU retired butterfly punch. Shaped the butterflies with stylus and
added colored tiny rhinestones from my stash. Attached with dimensionals
and Done!! I was very pleased with the results.
Thank you Julia for a fun challenge. You have until the 24th to play along:-) Hugs..

ReplyDeleteThis is so artsy, Nancy! Love the imagination you have to design this. Your soft pastel colors are such an eye catcher. Love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, Nancy! Love the colors. I have many times used regular ink on glossy cardstock and it turns out very nice. No baby wipes needed, of course. Bet the oxides blend like butter on glossy. Still need to try it!
ReplyDeleteSi cool to use the glossy card stock Nancy, and love the wonderful colour combo you used. Burnishing with a paper towel is such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteA clever way to use your stencil on that lovely DO background Nancy... very pretty card, hugs Robyn

ReplyDeleteI just love these pretty pastels shades smooched together, Nancy! I imagine the shine is very lovely in person and I really like how you added the stenciled loops and matching gorgeous butterflies!! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteThis is SO PRETTY, Nancy! I love the beautifully layered smooshed colors. Before I read your blog, I almost heard you saying "Dry between the layers". :-) Tracing the peacock feathers stencil is a brilliant idea. The shape of the feathers is a little abstract so in sync with the smooshed background. The matching butterflies are beautiful and adds perfect dimension to the card.
ReplyDeleteHugs.. Hideko
