Playing again in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge Trees hosted by Hideko.
Thank you Hideko for a wonderful challenge using one
of my favorite Christmas Themes:-)
So many beautiful samples by the very talented DT and GD,
You have until the 24th to play along.
My 2nd Christmas Card for the challenge.
Close up of Nuvo Glimmer Paste and Wink of Stella.
Since my previous card post uses a different background and both
qualify for the challenge. I decided to share both.
I used the same CAS design for both cards, but used an Alcohol ink background
on Yupo paper for this card, which gives a much different look.
Also used metallic gold Pinata Alcohol ink
The other difference..I inlayed the Die cut background pieces.
I discovered it was very tedious with all the tiny pieces between the tree branches.
I only made 2 cards with this design, then because of Denny's suggestion
I added a square cut background for the other 3 cards on my previous post.
Much Quicker!!!
I love the glitter and shine from the stenciled Nuvo Glimmer Paste and W of S.
Enjoy and hope you get to play along too. Hugs..
Supplies:
Stamps: SU retired Christmas Greetings.
Paper: Whisper White Thick CS. Yupo paper.
Inks: Alcohol Inks. Archival Jet Black.

WOW!! Another beauty. LOVE this design. The AI panel is GORGEOUS Beautiful colours and love the bits of gold. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas! xx
ReplyDeleteThe AI background on Yupo has a very different look from the previous card with AI acetate tissue background, doesn't it? This is also fantastic and I love it! Gorgeous mixture of the inks makes a beautiful dreamy sky. The inlaid design makes the card look really CAS, but I understand that it took a long time to put back all those tiny pieces in. "Otsukare sama deshita!" The glitter and the shine are so pretty and festive. Thanks so much again for sharing with us at CAS Christmas! Hugs.. Hideko
ReplyDeleteAnd, 'You' have done it again, Nancy! I think this one might be the prettiest one so far, but don't quote me because I love every one of your backgrounds! The blend of 'blues' and bits of gold is so striking and works perfectly with these beautiful trees...I'm so impressed!!!
ReplyDeleteWow ...stunning background and the most beautiful card Nancy. Glorious shine and shimmer from the paste and the inlaying looks fabulous with that pretty die cut x.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful background for this die, Nancy! This is going to be a favorite die, I predict!
ReplyDeleteNow that background is a stunner, love the soft dreamy sky and again I got to get that die :)
ReplyDeleteAnother glorious card using the same die cut - I have to say this one is my favourite as I absolutely love those colours and the beautiful streakiness in the sky like Northern Lights! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Christmas with this version as well!
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty, this time with a gorgeous AI background in my favorite blue color, Nancy! I applaud you for a fantastic job inlaying all those little pieces. Still loving that die! Thanks for joining us again at CAS Christmas Tree challenge. x
ReplyDeleteLOVE this card Nancy!! Your Al ink background almost looks like mountains to me and with the trees in the foreground, well it is just absolutely GORGEOUS!! I know how tedious all the inlaying can be with smaller die cut pieces, but the look is so intricate and lovely, so great job using that technique on this card too! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteNancy, that background is absolutely gorgeous with your white trees and snow. Thanks for joining us this month at CAS Christmas Tree challenge.
