CAS Christmas Card Challenge: Gifts!

Here is my CAS Christmas Card with colorful watercolored Gifts!

A fun CAS Christmas Card Challenge card hosted by Linda.
Lots of really creative cards by the DT and GD Leslie (Running with Scissors).

Sharing a Close Up of all the pretty sparkly snow on the tag.
I used Dolly's (Darnell) watercoloring with watercolor pencils technique that we learned
at our Retreat. Thank you Dolly...I love your technique:-)

I stamped with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear EB powder my STAMPlorations "Warm Hands and Heart" image onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

I did one color at a time, wetting lightly the area to color.
Then held the Derwent Watercolour pencil in left hand and swiped a slightly wet paint
brush over the tip of the pencil and brushed the color onto the image.
I loved the results...so easy!

When the entire image was colored and dry I die cut with "Warm Hands and Heart"Dies
and die cut a 2nd time White Craft Foam and attached with Gina K Connect Glue.

Next I die cut the tag with CUTplorations Stitched Tags Nesting Dies.
I placed SSS "Falling Snow" Stencil over the tag and used palette knife
to cover stencil with Nuvo Glimmer Paste.  Really sparkled!
Tip: Be sure and wash stencil in warm soapy water immediately!

While paste dried I stamped and heat embossed sentiment from same set using MISTI.
Then attached image and sentiment using Connect Glue
and added ribbon and twine from my stash.
Attached finished tag to SU Whisper White 100# Card Base and Done!
I was so pleased with my card that I made 3 more for my stash:-)
You have until the 24th to play along.  Hugs..

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge: Ombre

Gorgeous Ombre CAS Cards by the DT, GD and in the Gallery!

I made my card using the makeup brushes gifted to me by my dear friend
Trina at our recent 2019 Crafting Retreat!
They are perfect for the Ombre Technique hosted by the very talented, Bonnie!

My Distress Oxide Inks CAS Card!
My card was an early birthday card for my dear sweet friend, Bonnie:-)
She received her card yesterday.

I sponged the Distress Oxide Inks using the sponging brushes onto Strathmore
Mixed Media paper.  Sponging light to dark colors: Hickory Smoke, Iced Spruce
and Faded Jeans.  Then spritzed using T.H. spritzer.

Die cut Ombre background with Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Die.
Then arranged Alexandra Renke "Grasses" that I die cut using SU 100# CS.
This beautiful die set was gifted to me by my dear friend, Hideko:-)
Attached Grasses with Connect Glue a wonderful gift from sweet Loll.

I am thinking I should have made this card into a "Friend" card,  but it is
going to a special birthday girl Friend:-)

I stamped and heat embossed the SSS Everyday Sentiments in MISTI.

Next die cut the card front with same stitched rectangle die and
Inlaid my main image and attached card front to card base and Done!!

Loved the results.  Thank you to all my dear friends for your thoughtful Gifts:-)

You have until the 24th to play along with the CAS Mix Up Ombre Challenge.
Hugs...

So many beautiful sample cards by our DT and GD Chrissie (Simply One of a Kind).
You will definitely be inspired!

Here is my Beautiful watercolored stencil bird image with Pearl-Ex Powder!

How would you like to see the Gorgeous Shine from the Pearl-Ex?

Close Up with light shining on the pretty Magenta stenciled bird!

I secured the Magenta TM 43 stencil to my glass mat with masking tape.

Then mixed Pearl-Ex metallic powders with water on a palette.
Used Rose Gold, True Blue, Aztec Gold and Solar Gold.
Used a #2 paint brush to paint each color.  Drying between colors to
prevent any smearing.  Such an easy technique with Gorgeous Shiny results!

Next I die cut my image with SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame.
Placed card front in MISTI and stamped and heat embossed PB Special Sentiments.
Popped up main image onto SU 100# card base and Done!

I learned how to use Pearl-Ex-Powders at our recent Retreat.

CAS Watercolour Challenge: Blue

Gorgeous CAS Cards by the DT, GD and in the Gallery:-)

My Blue Watercolored Vellum Card

I made this card at our 2019 Retreat!  Susan led the watercoloring on Vellum
Technique.  I sprinkled Ultramarine Brushos powder on my SU Vellum Cardstock,
then spritzed liberally with water,  tipping the paper to move the ink.

I laid an acrylic block on the vellum to prevent some of the curling.
When dry I taped down to a die cut window frame.
Popped up with white craft foam and glued down the white die cut PB Iris.

I decided to leave off the sentiment and add later when I need the card.
I loved the simplicity and ease of making this card.
Thank you Susan for making me want to use vellum more often:-)

If you click on my Craft Retreat Photos Tab under my banner you will see
many more vellum samples we made at our 2019 Retreat:-)

Enjoy,  you still have until the 24th to play along at CAS Watercolour Challenge! Hugs..

STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge Anything Goes: Optional color twist, Mahogany

Time for our June STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge, Anything Goes
Optional color twist: Mahogany!

My card using:

Loll Thompson's You Tube Video Paper Towel Background: 3:45 was
my background inspiration!  Thank you Loll (Stamping with Loll).

I made my watercolored background on Strathmore Mixed Media paper,
which I had brushed with Golden's White Gesso and let dry.

I placed a piece of paper towel that I had used to mop up Brushos Inks
onto the MM paper and spritzed generously with water.
Rubbing with my hand to transfer the ink onto the paper.

Did this a couple more times to add more ink.
Loved the textured effect of the inks over the Gesso.

Here is a Close Up of the brush strokes and colors.

Die cut background with CUTplorations "Crazy Running Stitch Rectangle
Nesting Die" for subtle framing.

Placed card front in MISTI and arranged "Life in Full Color" sentiment and paint tube.
Stamped with Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany and heat embossed
with SU Clear Embossing Powder.
Next stamped and heat embossed the tiny Happy Birthday from
"Birds of Paradise" stamp set and popped up.

Tip: Distress Oxides stay wet long enough to heat emboss with embossing
powders.  I usually use clear embossing powder.

Popped up card front using White Craft Foam and
attatched to SU Whisper White 100# CS and Done!

I loved the results and will be trying this background technique again:-)

Enjoy and hope you get to join us.  You have until June 30th to play along.
See you in October for more CAS Card Challenges.

In the meantime,  I will be playing in some of Shery's fun Summer Events!

Thank you for your visits, my friends.  Hugs...

My Pearl Ex fussy cut stenciled Magenta "Sunflowers"!

A Close Up showing all the shiny Pearl Ex colors.

I stenciled my Pearl-Ex Magenta "Sunflowers" image at our recent 2019 Retreat
in Crescent Beach, south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
You will be seeing many more cards in the near future as
I make my card fronts into finished card designs.

Do check out our Eat, Sleep, Craft, Repeat 2019 Blog Hop  This is the link
to my post with a couple cards I made at our Retreat.
More photos of crafting girlfriends on my Craft Retreat Photos tab below my banner.

Nine of us are from CAS Challenges owned by Loll and Bonnie.

Back to my card.

I mixed 3 colors (yellow, brown and green) of Pearl Ex with Golden's Light Gel.
Placed stencil over white thick cardstock, secured with masking tape
and applied each color of Pearl Ex mixture using a palette knife.
Removed stencil and washed stencil and knife immediately.
Let image dry.

When home I fussy cut the sunflowers and attached to SU Whisper White 100# CS
and stamped Penny Black Happy Snippets sentiment using Versafine black ink.

I am very happy with my Quick CAS Stenciled card!

You have until the 24th to play along with us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge.  Hugs..
