STAMPlorations 5th Birthday June Celebration!

June has been an awesome 5th Birthday Celebration for Shery ,  the owner of
STAMPloration and her amazing DT!

I am CASE'ing my friend, Harriet's (allycatcards) beautiful ARTplorations
Stenciled "Flutter By" watercolored card.

Here is my Alcohol Ink Version.

What a difference ink and paper can make.  Harriet used watercolor paper and inks
and I used Yupo paper and T.H. Alcohol Inks.  I love both cards!

I have been working on a major purge of my craft room.
Today when I saw Design Team Harriet's
3 favorite and 3 new STAMPlorations cards it reminded me that I had
this beautiful stenciled "Flutter By" background in my alcohol ink stash.

I used the same design as Harriet for my finished card,  but did add a
STAMPlorations sentiment, "Fond Expressions 2".

Thank you Harriet for the Inspiration.
You have until June 30th to play along with Shery's awesome Celebration.
Happy Birthday Shery and DT girls:-)

Gel Plate Impressionism with DOX"s

I tried Lydia Fiedler new technique: Gel Plate Impressionism
that she shared on Splitcoaststampers (SCS).

I was intriqued,  especially since Lydia used Distress Oxide Inks!

I followed Lydia's photo and video tutorial for my background,
but stamped my silhouette flower image after I had made my background using my
MISTI and archival black ink.

I then die cut my image with Memory Box Stitch Rectangles die,
popped up on fun foam and spritzed with Sheep Shimmer Craft spray.

Next stamped my sentiment and  attached to SU Very Vanilla Thick card base and Done!

A quick and fun background technique.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Fabulous Florets (ret) and  A Dozen Thoughts (ret)
Paper: SU Very Vanilla Thick.  Fluid 100 Hot Press Watercolor Paper
Inks: Archival Jet Black.  Distress Oxide: Frayed Burlap, Lucky Clover, Broken Chine, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans.
Accessories:Gelli Plate 2 5/8" x 3" (Gift from friend).  MISTI, 91% rubbing alcohol. mister, Shimmer Spray.

CAS Watercolour June Reminder

The month is flying by,  but you still have until the 24th to play
along with Bonnie's "Ocean" CAS Watercolour Challenge!

Here are my Diving Dolphins diving thru the waves card!

Close up showing the Magicals Glimmer on the waves and Kuretake Gansai Tambi
Watercolors Glimmer on the Dolphins. So much prettier IRL!

While on our Retreat we tried using different mixed media products on white coated
tags that Loll found.  They were #8 size.
I used green and blue Magicals using the Splash Technique.  Check out Loll's video:
Splash Watercolour Background Technique:2:25.

I had reconstituted Magicals powder with water.
I loved the results.  When I got home I kept looking at the tag and noticing
the splash background looked like waves.

So I trimmed off the tag end and then die cut with Ali-Express stitched rectangle die.
I used 2 Memory Box die cut "Diving Dolphins" that I watercolored with
Kuretake Gansai Tambi Shimmery Silver paint.
I loved the shimmer from the Magicals and Silver paint.

Next popped up the dolphins with SU mini dimensions.  Placed image layer in MISTI
and stamped my Penny Black "Happy Snippets" sentiments in SU Pacific Point ink.

Popped up image layer using fun foam onto my SU Whisper White Thick card base.
And..Done!

Be sure and check out all the amazing cards by our very talented DT and awesome Guest

CAS Mix Up June Reminder

Time for our CAS Mix Up Reminder June "Layered Embossing Powders"
Challenge hosted by Loll.  You will be dazzled by all the gorgeous cards
by our DT and our awesome
Guest Designer, Jane (Purplejet Loves Crafts)

Be sure and check out the inspiring video of different techniques too.

You have until the 24th to play along!

Here is my Encrusted Jewels Christmas trees card.

The Close up of the pretty trees.

The trees were created at our 2018 Retreat.  Here is my 1st card I made with Encrusted Jewel feathers. The trees on this card were made with the same technique using the Stampendous Encrusted Jewels: 4:43 You Tube video.

This technique is addicting.  It is endless the samples you can make and a great way
to use up the many embossing powders and glittery embellishments most of us have.

I was happy to make a few pieces I can use for Christmas cards.

I placed my ARTplorations "Dot All Over" stencil over the area where I planned
to cut a window and then sponged with DOX Cracked Pistachio.
Next I die cut My Favorite Things "Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window".

Then I watercolored the rectangle die cut piece using Kuretake Gansai Tambi
blue shades.  Let dry and splattered with white acrylic diluted paint.
When snow dried I inset the background into window.

I added SU mini dimensionals to the back of the trees and slipped them
under the window.   I added a few more snow flakes with my Signo White Gel Pen.

I stamped my STAMPlorations "Oh, Christmas Tree" sentiment in black and fussy cut.
Attached to card front.  Then popped up card front using foam adhesive and
attached to SU Whisper White Thick Card Base and Done!

I am adding my card to the June CAS Christmas Card Challenge Masculine,
hosted by Christine (It's a card days night)

STAMPloration is Five and Celebrating!

Shery Russ, the owner of STAMPlorations,  sure knows how to celebrate!
Shery is celebrating her 5th STAMPlorations Birthday the entire month of June with Blog Hops and Prizes!

Shery started the CASE the STAMPgirls and Link Up by sharing her 3 favorite
cards and CASEing one her cards.  I am CASE'ing This CAS black and white design beauty.

Here is my version using Distress Oxides Iced Spruce and Black Soot.
Not my normal color combo,  but I loved the results. Hope you like it too, Shery.

I stamped the butterfly mask with my Distress Oxide "Iced Spruce" ink pad
and then spritzed with water onto Strathmore Mixed Media.  Let dry and then stamped
STAMPlorations "Trendy Butterflies" using DOX Black Soot a little off set from
the masked images and leaving the small butterflies unstamped.

Then die cut my piece with CUTplorations "Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die"
Stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Attached to SU Whisper White Thick card base and Done.
My card literally took minutes after I got my supplies out:-)

Thank you dear Shery for all you do to keep all your friends and fans creating
with your wonderful products.  As you know,  I LOVE your products and your customer
service.  It has been a joy becoming your friend the last 5 years:-)

CAS Watercolour June Ocean

June is a wonderful time to enjoy the Ocean.  Thank you Bonnie for hosting this months
I live only 45 minutes from the South Western Oregon beaches and discovered
I do not have any beach scene stamps,  but my dear friend Darnell came to my rescue.
She gifted me an Inkadinkado stamp set "By the Seashore".

L-R Christine, Loll, Darnell(Dolly) and Nancy (me) at BC Retreat!
Susan took the photo with Darnell's camera.  We did more than craft.  Tea party
in Susan's Gorgeous Vancouver, BC garden and her yummy scones!

Christine, Susan and Nancy (me)
Fun to share a few photos from our 2018 BC Retreat!

Now onto my Ocean Card!
I made a watercolored background and stamped and heat embossed my image.  Simply CAS!

Here is my card...

I used my  Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and used the Wet on Wet coloring
technique with a wide paint brush.  Then let dry overnight.  I love how the colors
ran into each other.  The bottom represented sand, then ocean, then sunset sky.

I die cut my piece with Memory Box Stitched Circle die then placed in MISTI and stamped
my image with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink and heat embossed
with SU Clear EB powder.

Next I popped up circle with fun foam onto SU Whisper White Thick CS.
Attached circle with tombow glue and rounded the bottom corners of card base.

I loved the background and how easy my card went together:-)
You have until the 24th to play along.

CAS Mix Up Layered Embossing Powders

Be prepared for Gorgeous Glittery Shiny Creative CAS Mix Up
Layered Embossing Powder Cards from the DT and our awesome Guest Designer
Jane (Purplejet Loves Crafts),  who is joining us from the UK!

Loll is hosting this awesome challenge.  There are helpful links to techniques too.

Here is my card using the "Encrusted Jewel" Layered Embossing Technique.
The Close Up showing shine and sparkle!

I used the "Stampendous "Encrusted Jewel" 4:43 You Tube video for my technique.

Here is a photo from our recent Retreat showing
Trina, Loll, Susan, Nancy (me) and Christine heating their beautiful pieces on grills
and then adding embossing powders and glitter.
Thanks Darnell for the cute photo!

For more photos of our retreat by Alex click on the Retreat 2018 tab under my banner.

We all came home with many more pieces of Encrusted Jewel pieces for future projects.
It is a great technique for using up your stash of EB Powders and Glitter.

We used a thick white cardstock that Loll shared with us.
My pretty glittery die cut background was from another technique we did
I sponged with Distress Oxide Inks, then pounced with scrunched up baby wipes for added
texture.  Then sprayed with TSUKINEKO Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz.
So shimmery IRL.

I die cut with PB Antique Frame Die and popped up with fun foam and attached to
SU Whisper White Thick CS after stamping my sentiment using MISTI.
I loved the results and hope you do too.
