January STAMPlorations Christmas in The Air Projects

Time for our 2nd Christmas in the Air Featured Project at STAMPlorations!
Monika and I look forward to sharing our Christmas projects with you.

Never too soon to start your 2020 Christmas cards!
STAMPlorations has many wonderful Clear Stickers Stamps still available,
which are perfect for adding to artsy watercolored backgrounds.

I made the watercolored backgrounds using Distress Inks onto a ziplock freezer
bag.  Then spritzed ink with water and flipped over to lay onto ATC die cut Strathmore Mixed Media paper to get the smooshed results or you can do your smooshing
onto craft mat or glass mat.
I used Distress Inks: Barn Door and Mowed Lawn.

Finished the cards by attaching the Fabulous STAMPlorations "Merry Clear Stickers" to
the dry ATC backgrounds.
Die cut card front with "Crazy Running Stitch Rectangle Die" and stenciled with ARTplorations
"Dots All Over" Stencil using glittery Nuvo Glimmer Paste..Moonstone.
Let paste dry and then added the popped up ATC to the card base and Done!

Sharing two more Christmas cards using

After making the 1st two cards,  I decided to make a couple more
cards using a Quick Clean and Simple (QCAS) design.

I added texture to the card base by dry embossing with a SU Embossing Folder "Subtle".
I had more backgrounds in my stash using the same smooshed technique as my
first two cards, but this time
I used Yupo paper and Distress Oxide Inks: Faded Jeans and Pumice Stone
for a warmer effect.  Popped up the backgrounds with foam,
added the awesome "Tis the Season" Clear Stickers and Done!

Have fun hoping along and being inspired to start your 2020 Christmas Stash!

Hugs,  Nancy

    2. Thought I'd chime in regarding the $15 postage to the UK. Shipping a package that's up to 8 oz. alone to the UK is already $14.50 for first-class package international service (verifiable here: https://postcalc.usps.com/Calculator/MailServices?country=10150&ccode=GB&omil=False&dmil=False&mdt=2%2F10%2F2020&mdz=11%3A59&m=6&o=8). The remaining $0.50 doesn't even cover the Paypal fees and packaging materials I use so I'm actually subsidizing the shipping on every international order. Go over 8 oz. and the shipping jumps up to $24.50 -- and I don't (and have never) go back to the customer asking to pay for the shipping overage; I take on the cost myself. Oh and just recently (January 26), USPS has raised its rates so it's really tough for small business owners like me to offer free international shipping.

  28. All four cards are fabulous, Nancy! What a clever idea to use a ziplock freezer bag to do smooshing! Thanks for the how-to pictures.
The smooshed holiday color backgrounds are so pretty! The sparkle of the glimmer paste snow must be amazing in real life.
The smooshed Yupo backgrounds definitely have warmth and they look peaceful and dreamy. Adding the subtle texture to the card bases is a wonderful touch.
The clear sentiment stickers are convenient and easy to use! :-)
