Sharing my Alcohol Ink background stenciled card

I am using another Ranger Alcohol Ink background from a recent playday. Here is my
Launch card using a different Alcohol ink background and different stencil technique.
First I die cut my background with Reverse Confetti "Lacy Scallop Frames" Die.
I used the Alcohol Ink Lift Technique on my die cut background.
I placed the ARTplorations Sanna Lippert Designs "Onion in Raws Stencil" over
my Alcohol Ink background and secured with masking tape.
Dribbled Ranger Alcohol Ink Lift Refill onto paper towel and blotted and rubbed off
ink until I got the stenciled look I wanted.
Next popped up stenciled layer using white craft foam onto SU
Whisper White 100# card base.
Placed STAMPlorations "Shine Bright" Clear Stickers sentiment on scrap
cardstock, trimmed, attached to image and Done!
I am loving the QCAS cards I have been designing using stencils.

It certainly is an original. The colour is great and I love the shadowy shapes created with the stencil and the die cut frames works perfectly with it xx
ReplyDeleteNancy, you're gonna scold me for this... I bought that lift ink, and have yet to open the package!! There are some techniques better left to the pro: YOU!!

No scolding, Michele. We have all done that...But...now would be a fun time to try the lifting technique:-) I have both the pad and refill and like the refill the best because I can add more of lift solution and so does not take as much time. Also if you use the lift soon after your AI background is made instead of days, weeks, months...later it seems to work better with less rubbing and reapplications. But even a subtle lifting of color can be cool. Whew...no more tips..Hugs, Nancy
DeleteWhat a great technique used on your red AI panel Nancy - the subtle design of the stencil removed with the alcohol lift ink is so pretty - love the die cut frame you used with that beautiful edge! xx
ReplyDeleteI am loving the frame die, which I got after seeing our friend, Hideko use it on her cards and she sent me a few and then I HAD to have it:-) We do enable each other...Oh, BTW, I just got the Pixie Spray..repositional light tacky spray for stencils from Amazon because or...You!! DeleteOMGosh Nancy this card is spectacularly stunning! Can't believe I had 'that' stencil out yesterday to play but chose another. Looooooooove the AI background and 'that' die. Swooning over this beauty.

ReplyDeleteOh I love this vibrant color against white, Nancy! And stenciling with Alcohol Ink Lift solution is a wonderful idea. I've never used pixi spray, so it was difficult for me to stencil with lift ink ie. the solution seeping under my stencil. You did a fantastic job with this and the stencil pattern is clear and beautiful. The pearl simmer must look prettier in real life.
