CAS Stencil Card Challenge Reminder: Baby Wipes

Already time for the CAS Stencil Reminder Challenge: Baby Wipes hosted by Julia!

There are beautiful and creative cards by our DT and wonderful Guest Designer
Sarah (Funky Fossil)! Be sure and check out the challenge blog.

You still have until the 24th to play along.

Enjoy my card!

I placed my new ARTplorations "Art Flowers 1" Stencil designed by Sanna over
Strathmore Mixed Media paper and secured on left side with masking tape,
so I could open like a book to check out my sponging of Distress Oxide Inks.

I used DOX Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, and Abandoned Coral.
Adding the colors light to dark with my makeup brushes.

When satisfied with the colors I used a baby wipe over the stencil to give the
inks a lighter and more blended color appearance.
I really liked the results.

When dry I trimmed the background with the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running
Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die.  Then added the STAMPlorations
Clear Sticker "Hey, Sunshine" sentiment.

Punched a butterfly out of leftover background and shaped with stylus
and added pearls,  popping up with dimensional.

Then added a few sequins and popped up with White Craft Foam onto
SU Whisper White 100# cardbase and Done!

Hope you get to play along too with the baby wipe stenciling challenge.  Hugs..

  2. Beautiful, my friend! What a great idea to use the baby wipe to blend your inks and just remove a little of the colour. A whole different way to use baby wipes! :) Your card is so pretty ... LOVE this colours (you knew I would!). The butterfly is a sweet finishing touch along with the sparkle from your sequins. xx

    1. I noticed when I looked to see what effect the baby wipe had on the stenciled images that it was blending the inks nicely, so only lightly touched up the images until I liked the results:-) Thank you for your sweet comment, Loll. Hugs..Nancy

  13. What a pretty and unique card, Nancy! Love the artsy flower stencil design, the color combo, and the soft "baby wipe" effect on the stenciled image! Tilting the panel echoes the random direction of the flowers, and the tiny beautiful (great color matching!) butterfly adds dimension and interest to the card. Hugs.. Hideko
