CAS Mix Up August Challenge

I have been so inspired by the Paper Towel technique cards this month hosted by Loll!
All the DT, GD and Gallery samples are Gorgeous!
Be sure to check them out Here and Loll's Video.

I am also playing in the CAS Watercolour Challenge: Colorful Butterflies
hosted my Marcia!  More gorgeous cards by the DT and GD.

Using Paper Towel + Stamping + Die Cuts + Heat Embossing

I found this beautiful paper towel in my stash that I had used to mop up
Distress Oxide Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass
and Mermaid Lagoon.

Then I remembered this beautiful sparkly die cut Memory Box butterfly
that I had in my stash that had the same alcohol ink color tones:-)

Die cut the card front with the largest rectangle SSS Postage Stamp Edge Frame
and then die cut the smallest frame, which is square.

Attached the paper towel over the die cut square using Connect Glue and die cut again.
It worked perfectly then inlaid the square and attached with scotch tape on back.

Placed card front in MISTI and stamped and heat embossed STAMPlorations Bloom
Happy sentiment and added blue and green rhinestones from my stash.

Next popped up card front onto card base with white craft foam.
Added colorful sparkly butterfly with dimensionals.
The butterfly solid wings was die cut out of a glittery Alcohol Ink Acetate background.

Next added a new STAMPlorations Clear Sticker:Hey Sunshine sentiment
and Done! I loved the results and how quickly my card went together.

You still have until the 24th to play along with this awesome challenge!  Hugs.

  1. Nancy, Ms. CAS butterfly Herself is arriving at my door tomorrow! Hope she gets to see some action from the actual butterflies!
LOve your fabulous inlaid piece of toweling - I have one question: did you apply glue all over that piece? You have retained the texture so beautifully, I can't help but wonder!
    Absolutely gorgeous, my friend!

    1. Thanks Michele. I applied glue with an Z back and forth from top to bottom, but did not have the glue all over the entire TP background. It gave kind of a textured puffy look to the background that I liked. Good question and very observant, my friend. Hugs...

  11. I love how you've inlaid this pretty paper towel, Nancy! It adds so much texture! When I tried to die cut a paper towel, I totally lost all the texture. A beautiful alcohol ink butterfly too!

    1. Maybe mine worked because I had already die cut my square and then glued the PT background onto the die cut square. I used Connect Glue in a Z pattern that made the PT look a bit puffy then die cut. Or...maybe just got lucky! Hugs...Nancy

  17. What a fabulous paper towel card, Nancy! I LOVE the beautiful mix of colors and the inlaid design of your paper towel background! You inlaid the delicate material perfectly. Great use of the clear sticker. The AI butterfly is so pretty with the white outline die-cut. The colors of the butterfly, the paper towel, the rhinestones, and even the photo backdrop match. Wonderful coordination! It's always nice to see your card in the CAS Mix Up gallery. Thanks so much! Hugs.. Hideko

  18. Hi, Nancy! Just got home last night from our multi-state trip so finally got to look through all your beautiful creations. I especially love your previously posted Magenta Daisy card, and the PB bird with wreath, but this with the blues and the framing and the awesome paper towel technique and all the crisp white is way cool, too! As you can imagine, I have lots of catching up to do!
