Shirley's Layered Mistletoe and Layered Lights Christmas Sets

I have been having fun creating with STAMPlorations new Layered Christmas Sets
designed by Shirley Bampton (shirley-bee's stamping stuff).

I have a Layered Poinsettia project that you will see in the future.

For now,  I am sharing cards using the Layered Mistletoe and Layered Lights Sets.

 Layered Mistletoe stamp set.

My 1st Card

A 3" x 6" Tall card with a watercolored background on Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
I used Brushos Emerald Green and Leaf Green pigment powders and spritzed with water

Next I used my MISTI to stamp the lined mistletoe stamp twice with Archival black ink.
Stamped the bows in Barn Door Distress Ink and added Nuvo Gloss Red Berry Drops
to the berries.

Next stamped the sentiments with Archival black ink and framed with red cardstock.
Attached card front to red card base and done.
Such a fun quick and easy Christmas Card for my stash.

For my next card I used Layered Lights stamp set.

My 2nd Card

I used a monoprint stenciled background from my stash.  Can you see the subtle white
Christmas trees designed by STAMPloration's Sanna Lippert's Designs
Christmas Tree 1 stencil? It has become one of my favorite Christmas stencil.

I used green Lindy's Magical's Pigment Powder to sprinkle on the stencil and
then spritzed with water.  When dry, die cut with CUTplorations
Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

Used MISTI to arrange and stamp the "Layered Lights" sentiments with Archival black ink.
I loved how it turned out.  Another Quick and Easy card!

Sharing Close Up of the shimmery Magicals.  So pretty IRL!

CAS Mix Up Ink Stamps with Markers Reminder

Oh My,  already it is time for our CAS Mix Up Reminder "Ink Stamps with Markers" Challenge
 hosted by Bonnie!

Be sure and check out all the gorgeous cards by our DT and
awesome GD, Chrissie (Simply One of a Kind).

Also wonderful videos showing different stamping techniques.

My card Using Zigs Markers, Stamping with MISTI, Die Cutting and masking.

I used a NBUS Stamplorations stamp Bloom Happy,  which
is wonderful for a Fall card. The image and sentiment are from the
stamp set.  I masked the sending to keep the sentiment more centered.

I placed my main image in MISTI and then colored stamp with my Zig
Markers.  Restamping with 4 different marker colors moving
the ink around with my water brush.

Next die cut the image with my MB Stitched Die leaving enough
space for my sentiment.  Next die cut a scrap of SU
Pumpkin Pie CS for more framing and color.

Stamped sentiment, attached to main image.  Popped up image
with dimensionals onto Pumpkin Pie layer.
Attached to card base, added Wink of Stella to flower and Done!

I like the Fall CAS look of this card.
You still have until the 24th to play along with our CAS Mix Up
September Challenge.
Hugs...

Twofer Card Challenge #9 Leaves

I could not resist the Twofer Card Challenge #9 Leaves!

Thanks Darnell aka Dolly for choosing an easy and inspiring Challenge.

My cards using the same Leaves Cover Plate

Both these cards have so much texture from the cover plates,  but went into
very different design directions and for different occasions.

Card #1 Close Up.

I die cut the leaves with AliExpress Leaves Cover Plate,  a gift from my friend,
Christine.  I cut the leaves out of a piece of Alcohol Ink on Yupo background
from...quess what..my stash:-) I do Love how Yupo cuts like butter
through very detailed die cuts and the tiny pieces pop out easily.

I cut a 2nd layer out of mixed media and attached a tiny bit off center to add
a white shadow effect.  IRL the shadow shows up real well .

I attached the 2 layers together with Fine Tip Glue Pen and attached both to card base.

Next I stamped a wood block Happy Birthday sentiment from SU "It's Your Birthday"
stamp set.  My 1st birthday set from Stampin' Up.  I was very pleased with the design.

Card #2 Close Up.

I used the Leaves Cover Plate to die cut a different Alcohol Ink on Yupo background
from my stash,  but this time I cut the piece down to fit the top area
of a piece of 3" x 6" mixed media paper.

Then I placed TCW "Jungle Vines" Stencil under the die cut leaves and
used my Clarity Brushes to brush on Distress Inks: Wild Honey,
Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint to give an impression of the smaller
leaves being under the larger leaves.

I recently received a pretty Tall Card from my friend Bonnie that had some beautiful
die cut pieces and a bit of Washi Tape tucked inside that I will use for future cards.

Bonnie's beautiful Tall Card design!

I was inspired by Bonnie's
CAS Tall card design and the scalloped
dry embossed border,  especially since I had the SU border (ret).

I added a small piece of the Alexandra Renke Butterfly Washi Tape to my card.
The Tape is transparent so it looks like it was stamped..so cool!

Next I stamped the sentiment with Archival black using Misti.
Then dry embossed 3 1/2" x 6 " card base and attached image to the card front.

I was very pleased with the results.
Thank you Christine and Bonnie for your inspirations and making my cards
so easy to design:-)

You still have until the 24th to play along in Dolly's awesome Twofer!

Enjoy and Happy Fall Stamping.  Hugs..

CUTplorations Cover Plate Dies

My First Cover Plates and I am smitten!

I recently received these two cover plates from STAMPlorations and discovered
they are perfect for quick and creative cards over watercolored backgrounds!

As you all know,  I LOVE to make backgrounds and have a Large stash:-)

Card #1 used Lindy's Magicals pigment powders background.

All I did was die cut the CUTplorations "Butterfly Cover Plate" out of mixed media paper
and attached to card base with SU Thin Tip Glue Pen.

Next found the CUTplorations "Stitched Thankful" in my die cut stash and attached.
And...Done!

Card #2 used this gorgeous Distress Oxides smooshed and splashed
background from my stash!

I die cut my new to me CUTplorations "Bloomtangle #1 Cover Plate"
and attached to Distress Oxide background,  which I made by smooshing
and splashing left over DOX inks from my mat.

I was so pleased at how well the SU Fine Tip Glue Pen worked on
attaching the cover plates on both cards.  I did weight down each card with my
large acrylic block until glue was dry.

I found a piece of Magicals background with a darker shade of color
to die cut my CUTplorations sentiment.

Two beautiful cards in no time at all:-)
Enjoy and Happy Stamping my friends.  Hugs...

Supplies:
Stamps: None
Paper: SU Whisper White Thick card base.  Strathmore Mixed Media cover plates.
Inks: Magicals Pigment Ink card #1.  Distress Oxides card #2.
Accessories: CUTplorations: Butterfly Cover Plate, Bloomtangle #1 Cover Plate, Thankful and Smile Word Dies.  SU Thin Tip Glue Pen.  Acrylic Block for weight.

CAS Watercolour Tree

September CAS Watercolour Tree Challenge hosted by Loll.
Be sure and check out the gorgeous cards by the DT and very
CAS talented GD Ros (Mikey's Mom).

I am sharing 2 Bister pigment inks Stenciled Monoprint Trees card.
They are the same except a little different Bister ink colors.

The 1st card uses Blue and Green Bisters.

The 2nd card uses Yellow and Green Bisters.

I can't chose a favorite.  Can you?

I used a favorite ARTplorations "Christmas Tree 1" Stencil by Sanna Lippert Designs.

I taped down over Strathmore Mixed Media paper and sprinkled
with Bisters pigment powders: Blue and Green.

Then liberally spritzed with water and carefully removed stencil and
set positive monoprint aside to dry.

Then turned stencil over onto another piece of MM paper and pressed down stencil
to move ink around paper.  Removed stencil and set negative image aside for future use.

Yes,  I have a nice stash of negative and positive Stencil monoprint images:-)

Rolled a role of paper towels lightly over image to soak up any puddles.

When image dry I die cut with CUTplorations Die and placed in MISTI.
Next stamped the STAMPlorations Typografia Christmas "Christmas in the Heart" stamp
using Archival Jet Black Ink.  I stamped a couple times for good coverage.

Next attached to SU Whisper White card base.  Added a tiny halogram star to
the top of the stamped sentiment and Done!

The 2nd card was exactly the same except for using Bisters Yellow and Green
pigment powder.  I was so happy with both cards.

Thank you Loll for a fun challenge.  Enjoy and Hugs..

CAS Mix Up Ink Stamps with Markers

Time for our CAS Mix Up September Challenge:
Ink Stamps with Markers hosted by Bonnie.

Be sure and read the introduction by Bonnie.

There are  gorgeous samples by our DT and awesome GD,
Chrissie (Simply One of a kind).

There are also several videos with different techniques.
I used the Stamped Watercolor Flowers by K. Werner using Zigs.

My card using Zigs to color and then stamp my image + Stamping + Die Cutting

I received this Gorgeous Penny Black "Blossom Branch" stamp from my dear friend,
Loll when at our BC Retreat.  Thank you again my friend:-)

I placed the stamp in my MISTI, then had fun
 inking up the stamp with
my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then stamping on Mixed Media paper.

The MISTI makes it possible to easily restamp your image
until you have the coverage you want.

I used my water brush to move the ink around for blending.
It is important to move the ink after each stamping before ink dries.

I started by coloring all the green leaves and blending,
then the red flowers one petal at a time and then blending.

Next the blue flowers and blending with water brush.
I find the Mixed Media paper makes the ink move and blend easily with the water brush.

When my image was finished I die cut with Penny Black Antique Frame Die.
Die cut fun foam with same die to give a shadow effect behind image.
Attached to SU Whisper White Thick CS card base and Done!

Cool Tip from Video
If using new stamp (rubber or acrylic) ink with Archival Jet Black ink
and then rub off ink.  Your Zigs ink does not bead up then.
It is worth watching the video for that tip:-)

You have until the 24th to play along with our new CAS Mix Up Challenge.

Happy early Fall stamping, my friends.  Hugs...
