CAS Mix Up Stencil Monoprint with Bisters

Stencil Monoprinting is such a fun and easy technique.
I guarantee you can NOT make just ONE background.  I am sharing 2 more cards
I made for this months CAS Mix Up Challenge:-)

My card using Bisters Pigment Powders for the Stencil Monoprint background.
If you look carefully you can see white circle Dots!

My Stenciled Bisters Positive image.

The You Tube Color Burst and Stencils 6:10 by Shelby Thomas was my guide.

I used ARTplorations "Dots All Over" Stencil for my Monoprint background
using Bisters Pigment Powders: Black, Green, Blue, Red, Mahogany, Yellow and Natural.

I laid the stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media paper and then
sprinkled the powders over the stencil and spritzed liberally with water.
Lifted stencil off paper carefully and set aside the positive image and rolled
a roll of paper towels over image to remove some of ink.  Set aside to dry.
That was the background I used for my 2nd card.

Next turned stencil over carefully onto another MM paper and pressed stencil down
with a paper towel to spread ink.
I used my 1st pull image for my 1st card above.

I got a couple more pulls for lighter
Stencil Monoprint images, which I can use for future projects.

I used CUTlorations Die cutting on both cards and New STAMPlorations sentiments on
each card and Done!

Enjoy..You still have until the 24th to play along with us at CAS Mix Up.

I have had a wonderful time hosting the Stencil Monoprint Challenge
and have been thrilled with all the gorgeous and creative
cards made by our DT, GD, Cathy (Cathy's Card Spot) and our gallery players:-) Hugs..

CAS Watercolour Bisters Sunflower

Playing again in the CAS Watercolour August Sunflower Challenge!
Who can resist beautiful Sunflowers? Not I!
You have until the 24th to play along. Marcia is hosting this month.

Bisters Sunflower Stencil Monoprint!

I just can't seem to get enough of this TCS "Joyful Sunflower" Stencil and
the Stencil Monoprint Technique. If you do a search on my blog of
this technique you will find several cards made with this stencil and cards
using this technique:-)

I have used Alcohol inks, Brushos and now Bisters on this stencil and loved them all.

I taped my stencil down over Strathmore Mixed Media and
sprinkled with Bisters: Yellow, Mahagony, Natural, Green and Red pigment powders.

Next spritzed with water and removed stencil carefully.
Set aside positive monoprint for later use.

Turned stencil over onto another piece of MM paper and pressed gently a paper towel
over stencil to move the ink around.  Removed stencil and voila'...
a beautiful negative sunflower image.

I rolled a roll of paper towels over image to soak up the puddles and then let air dry.

Added stamped sentiment and attached to SU Whisper White card base using foam tape.

Another beautiful sunflower card done!
Thank you Marcia for such a fun Sunflower Challenge:-)  Hugs...

AAA Cards CAS Game #122 Use a Stencil

Playing along with the AAA Cards CAS Game #122
Use a Stencil Challenge.

STAMPlorations is the sponsor this month and offering a $15.00 gift certificate
for the winner:-)

Here is my stencil card using STAMPloration products.

Adding a close up showing the shimmery Lindy's Magicals pigment inks.

Such a fun quick CAS card design using the Stencil Monoprint Technique.

I placed the stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media paper and secured with
Post-It-Note Masking Tape.

Then sprinkled Lindy's Magicals Pigment Powder over the stencil
Using 3 greens: Lucky Shamrock,  Bells of Ireland and Mad Hatter Mint Green.

Next spritzed liberally with water using my T.H. Spritzer.
Removed stencil carefully and moved positive monoprint image to the side,
then turned over stencil onto another piece of MM paper
and pressed down with paper towel to move the ink around for a negative image.

I rolled lightly a roll of paper towels over the negative and positive images
to soak up the puddles of ink.  Helps the samples dry quicker too.

When my positive sample was dry I die cut with CUTplorations
Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die.

Next placed my piece in MISTI and stamped STAMPlorations sentiment with
Archval Jet Black ink.  Repeated a couple of times to get good coverage.

I popped up my image using fun foam onto SU Whisper White Thick CS and Done!

I LOVE the Magicals shimmer.
This card was so fun and easy with my STAMPloration Products.

CAS Mix Up Reminder....Already!

There are fabulous cards by our talented DT and Guest Designer Cathy (Cathy's Card Spot)

You have until the 24th to play along.
Be sure and check out the cards by our designers and the helpful videos.

I made a positive and negative image using Lindy's Magicals Mica Powders.
So shiny and beautiful in real life.  I Tried to get photos of the shine.
No luck,  but I am sure you understand.

The Positive Stencil Image Card!

The Negative Stencil Monoprint Image Card

I was spending a bit of free evening time at our May retreat, playing with stencils.
I have a tab under my banner above with photos of retreat:-)

I borrowed Christine's TCW retired stencil and quickly made these Stencil
Monoprint backgrounds using  Lindy's Magicals Mica Powders.
Sorry I do not know the names of the colors,  since we were using Loll's Magicals.

I was inspired by this Color Burst and Stencils Video by Shelby Thomas 6:10.
I placed my stencil over Strathmore Mixed Media and sprinkled
with Magicals powders and spritzed with water using TH Spritzer.

Removed stencil and lightly rolled paper towel roll over image to blot off
a small amount of excess inks.  Set aside positive (1st card) image to dry.

Next spritzed water on the stencil,  which still had leftover Magicals
and turned over carefully, placing over mixed media paper.
Then pressed down with hands to soak up Magicals.
I did not blot this time.  I really liked the negative monoprint results.
Let both backgrounds Air Dry!

Today I made each background into finished cards.

Die cut both backgrounds with CUTplorations Crazy Double Running
Stitch Rectangles Nesting Die.

Attached to cardbase and added CUTplorations "Birthday" Word Die
and stamped "happy" from STAMPlorations "Happy Birthday".

Stacked both die cut "Birthdays" attaching with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen
and attached to card fronts using glue pen again.

Wonderful to get 2 backgrounds and 2 finished cards out of the technique:-)

Do come and play along and if you already have...Thank You!

Hugs...

CAS Christmas Card Challenge ....again!

Playing again in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge Trees hosted by Hideko.
Thank you Hideko for a wonderful challenge using one
of my favorite Christmas Themes:-)

So many beautiful samples by the very talented DT and GD,

You have until the 24th to play along.

My 2nd Christmas Card for the challenge.

Close up of Nuvo Glimmer Paste and Wink of Stella.

Since my previous card post uses a different background and both
qualify for the challenge.  I decided to share both.

I used the same CAS design for both cards, but used an Alcohol ink background
on Yupo paper for this card, which gives a much different look.
Also used metallic gold Pinata Alcohol ink

The other difference..I inlayed the Die cut background pieces.
I discovered it was very tedious with all the tiny pieces between the tree branches.

I only made 2 cards with this design, then because of Denny's suggestion
I added a square cut background for the other 3 cards on my previous post.
Much Quicker!!!

I love the glitter and shine from the stenciled Nuvo Glimmer Paste and W of S.

Enjoy and hope you get to play along too.  Hugs..

Supplies:
Stamps: SU retired Christmas Greetings.
Paper: Whisper White Thick CS.  Yupo paper.
Inks: Alcohol Inks.  Archival Jet Black.
Accessories: MB Stitched Circle Trees.  SSS Falling Snow Stencil. Wink of Stella.

CAS Christmas Card Tree Challenge

I love the CAS Christmas Challenge for adding to my stash:-)

This month Hideko is hosting a "Tree" Challenge.
Perfect for the holiday season!
So many Awesome samples by the DT and GD, Barb (Barb's Studio Creations)

I got to use a new to me Memory Box Stitched Circle Trees Die.
I made 3 cards for my stash with background design.

My card using Alcohol Ink on acetate plus tissue background.

Close up for the glitter and shine from Nuvo Glimmer Paste and WofS

I had so much fun making 3 cards with this design and playing with
Alcohol Ink on Acetate backgrounds from my stash.

Here is a card using the background technique if you want more details.

Stashes are awesome for creating quick and beautiful CAS card designs:-)

I die cut SU Whisper White Thick CS with the circle trees die and
attached piece of background to back of die with scotch tape.

Next made a mask to cover the die.
Placed SSS Falling Snow Stencil over card front and added
Nuvo Glimmer Paste with a palette knife.  Removed stencil and mask.

Let dry, stamped sentiment and done!

Once I had figured out my design all the other cards were very quick:-)

You still have until the 24th to play along.

CAS Watercolour Sunflower Challenge

Congratulations Jenny (My Paper Epiphany)
for being chosen the new DT member at CAS Watercolour Challenge.
I am so pleased you will be taking my place.
You will have an awesome creative and fun time with all the girls:-)

My Brushos Watercolored Stenciled Monoprint Sunflower Card!

I found this Negative  Monoprint using Brushos in my stash.

I die cut with CUTplorations Die and then added a sentiment that I had inked
with Early Espresso and versamark
then heat embossed with clear EB powder.

Then attached main image with fun foam to SU Early Espresso card stock
that I had die cut with the same CUTplorations Die Set,
which brought out the brown tones in the image.

I really like the Brown "White Space" on my card.
I think it makes a wonderful Fall guy card.

Do checkout the CAS Watercolour Sunflower beauties by the DT, GD, Izzy (Izzy Scrap)
and the growing Gallery.  Inspiring videos too.

I am adding my card to the CAS Mix Up August Challenge:

CAS Mix Up August Stencil Monoprint

Gorgeous and Artsy creations by our DT
and wonderfully creative Guest Designer Cathy (Cathy's Card Spot)

Using Stencil Monoprint with Distress Oxides, Stamping, heat embossing and Dies.

I loved the pretty soft Distress Oxide colors: Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral
and Twisted Citron.

My Stencil Monoprint Technique.

I placed my Penny Black "Verdant" stencil over a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media
and secured with masking tape onto my craft mat.

Next used my Clarity Stencil Brushes to add my DOX's.
I love how the brushes add a smooth blended look.

Then removed tape and stencil and set stenciled flowers aside.

Next spritzed DOX inks left on stencil liberally with water using my TH Spritzer.
Then turned stencil over onto another piece of MM paper.
Placed paper towel over stencil and rubbed with my hand (can use brayer) to
add wet ink from stencil to paper.

Removed stencil and blotted excess ink with paper towel until I had a soft
negative monoprint image.

I did get a 2nd pull for an even lighter image,  but liked this one the best.

Finished my card by die cutting a small layer for the positive image
and a larger layer for the negative image.

Kept it simple by just adding a heat embossed sentiment and Wink of Stella.
Attached large layer and popped up small layer with fun foam and Done!

Tips:
1) Use roll of paper towels and roll across image to blot excess ink.

2)  Stamped my sentiment with DOX Abandoned Coral and heat embossed
with Clear EB powder. Did not need pigment ink.  Worked great!

I am so pleased with the results of my CAS design.
My card will be for a Summer Birthday!

You have until the 24th to play along.  We would love to see your
CAS Mix Up creations.  Be sure and check out the videos and our DT and GD cards.
Remember...Clean and Simple designs, please.

Hugs...
