CAS Mix Up Rubber Band Technique

Julia (Create With Me) is Hosting our April CAS Mix Up Rubber Band Technique
+ Stamping and Your Choice Challenge.
Be sure and check out the fabulous cards by our DT and awesome Guest Designer Hideko (Papercraft Boutique)  There are several very helpful videos if this technique is new to you.

Loll has created a new Rubber Band Techniques YouTube video just for this challenge.
Don't miss it!
You have until the 24th to play along!

Here is my Brayered Rubber Band Gold Tinsel heat embossed card!

I did a major reorganizing in my craft room recently and found this leftover piece of Brayered Rubber Band Gold Tinsel from 6 years ago.  I knew we were going to be doing this technique soon.   So this card was such a CAS quick and easy card to design.  I loved the results too!

Thanks Julia for hosting this really cool technique.  I am looking forward to making more cards with this technique.  I just wrapped narrow Rubber Bands around my brayer.  Brayered
my Versamark pad and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel EB powder.
It is such a pretty shiny and glittery Gold background for my die cut Thank You.

I die cut my window with my Dianamics Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die.
Die cut the main image layer with my PB Antique Die.
Next placed my layer in my MISTI and stamped my sentiment with Archival Black ink.

Then attached my Rubber Band layer behind my window and attached my black die cut PoppyStamps Thank you.  I die cut 2 black cardstock Thank you's for more thickness.
I used Tomboy glue to attach Thank You,
weighting down with my acrylic block until dry.

I then popped up my main image with fun foam and attached to SU Thick WW Cardstock.
I hope you join us for this really fun and easy technique.
Be sure and check out many more awesome card samples and videos on our

  1. Such an elegant and classy card Nancy. The rubber band technique looks fabulous in the gold glitter and the black sentiment on top looks gorgeous. This is a new to me technique and I had so much fun with it and just think you had kept a piece of this technique from six years ago! Stunning card x

  11. Oh, gosh, I remember this technique from ages ago! Your gold tinsel embossing is a fabulous spin on it. So pretty, and with die cuts these days it's nice to be able to put the sentiment right on top of it. Love the black, white, and gold combo. Your major craft room reorganizing sounds like fun, too. I enjoy things like that and it's so nice when it's done!

  12. Delicious glitter! I normally don't do videos (no time...), but perhaps I'll make an exception...Perhaps there is something new to this ancient technique....

  15. This is fabulous Nancy, love the gold embossing of the stamped rubber band background. All beautifully framed in white using two different dies, brilliant. The black word die and sentiment are perfect too. Very elegant, love it! Hugs xx

  16. The golden rubber bands made me think of a very fine embroidery thread on linen fabric. This is so pretty & shimmery as a background for the bold sentiment, and love that fab die as a frame. It looks great with the frame popped over the 'embroidered' golden strings. (ps...thought I had commented, but guess I just looked on my 1st looky!) TFS & Hugs
