Twofer Challenge #2 Hearts !

How cool to get "2" Heart cards done thanks to Darnell's Twofer Challenge!
Twofer Challenge #2 Hearts!

Here are my Two Heart Cards using the same Stampendous "Baby Background" stamp!

Close Up of 1st Card.

Happy 1st Birthday Boy card using my NBUS Stampendous "Baby Background" stamp.

I stamped with Versafine Black Pigment Ink onto SU Thick Whisper White CS
and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder.

Then die cut this section with NBUS AliExpress stitched rectangles die.
It was fun watercoloring with my Zigs and aqua painter..choosing bright colors.
I chose SU Thick Whisper White so all my whites matched,
being careful not to use too much water.

Next die cut SU Real Red CS and SU card front with the same die set.
Inlaid white layer then placed card front in MISTI and stamped SSS Thoughtful Messages sentiments and heat embossed.  The stamps are separate.  Love this set:-)

Then covered main image with Versamark clear ink and heat embossed with SU Clear EB Powder.
Wow,  that gave the image even brighter colors and plenty of shine.

Popped up my red and main image layers using fun foam and attached card front to card base.
Done and very happy with my One Year Old Baby Boy Card!

Close Up of 2nd Card

My card is for a Newborn Baby Girl due around Valentine's Day:-)

I die cut a SU heart (ret) out of my heat embossed "Baby Background",  leftover from my above card.
Next I sponged background with SU So Saffron, Strawberry Slush (ret), Primrose Petals (ret) and Watermelon Wonder inks using my blending tool.   Then watercolored all the images using same markers and aqua painter.

Next die cut Larger heart from Primrose Petals CS and sponged with same ink for a soft suede look.
Attached SU White Tea Lace Doily to Penny Black Antique Frames layer
and placed in MISTI to stamp sentiment and then heat emboss.

Attached die cut card front using fun foam to SU Thick Whisper White Card Base.
Adding both hearts that I shaped with stylus and popped up with dimensionals.

I added Wink of Stella to entire baby background image.  So sparkly IRL.
Enjoy and Happy Twofer Creating!
Challenge ends on the 24th.

  6. Awww, cute, Nancy! Children and baby cards -- love 'em! All the color is wonderful, your light watercoloring looks great, and I like how you clear embossed the whole panel on your first card. Same background on both cards, yet the areas you chose to cut give them a whole different look. #2 looks much more baby-ish while the first is perfect for a 1 yr old boy. Love how the sentiment script on #2 matches the background. The doily and heart really sweeten it up. Fabulous cards for Darnell's Twofer Challenge! I hope to finish something later this week, fingers crossed.

  7. So clever to use that baby background with the tiny hearts on it for the challenge - you made two fabulous cards with it. Love the doily and heart on the welcome baby one, and the other one is a perfect card for a child's birthday!

  8. Both cards are so fun and sweet - great twofer cards, Nancy! I was wondering why the main image of the boy's birthday card looked so bright. Heat embossing the entire image with clear EB powder did the magic, didn't it?
Love that you sponged the heart panel for a soft suede look. Adding the doily under the front panels is perfect for a sweet baby girl card. Hugs.. Hideko

  9. Two beautiful cards Nancy! Love how your main panel on your birthday card is so vibrant. Thanks for the tip about heat embossing the whole panel. It's awesome!

Love the sweet baby card. Gorgeous design with the blended background and then watercoloured images. Love the sweet doily for the background. Two very different and beautiful designs using the same stamp. Thanks for joining us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx

  14. I echo what our other friends have said, Nancy! Both of these designs are so colorful and so adorably perfect for babies, whether brand-new or one whole year's old!! I've never seen that PB frame before and I really like it! Great job showcasing how we don't have to use one of those giant background stamps as a unit ~ cutting it into smaller shapes gives us more bang for the buck!! Thanks so much for playing at Twofer Card Challenge #2! Hugs, Darnell

  15. Two such different looks with the supplies on these cards. Love the vivid colors (TFS the explanation of how you've done this). Love the idea of layering the pretty white doily over the PB Antique Frames (I have that one! Always pleased to see somebody use something I have, to give me ideas!) It's a pretty look. Also TFS the way to keep the 'white c/s' looking all the same white! Good job on the hearts 2fer, with these bright & delightful baby cards! TFS & Hugs
