CAS Mix Up February 2017 Corrugated Cardboard

Time already for the CAS Mix Up February 2017 Challenge: Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard +Your Choice.  Hosted this month by our DT member,  Susan (Cardmaker's Garret).

I was looking forward to this challenge because I have rarely used corrugated cardboard,  but have always liked the organic feel from this style.  Thank you Susan for the inspiration.

My card using: Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard covered by designer paper + My choice of Die Cuts, Splatters and Sequins.

I was so happy to have my design turn out like what I had in my head!  Before I cut my SU designer paper,  I crimped with my crimper to break up the fibers.  I then added liquid glue in the corrugated groves and covered my corrugated cardboard with my designer paper tucking the overlapping sides around the cardboard and gluing with the liquid glue.  I trimmed both ends to get just the right size vase.

Next I used my Penny Black dies to cut my flower using the same designer paper and the stem with cardstock. I also die cut both with coaster board to give them extra dimension..worked great.

Next I die cut my card front with my CUTplorations Die and placed the card front inside my MISTI so as to position my sentiment.  But before stamping,  I decided my card front needed more mixed media so I used diluted acrylic paint and a paint brush to add a few splatters.

Then I placed my sentiment in my MISTI and stamped with Archival black ink.   Next I attached my flower, stem, vase and sequins on my card and attached with liquid glue.

I was so pleased with the results.  Hope you like my card too and will play with us this month on our CAS Mix Up February Challenge.  You have until February 24th to join in the fun.

Be sure and visit the Challenge blog to see all the fabulous samples from the DT and our Guest this month...Julie (Crafted by Jules).  You will be inspired my friends.  Happy Stamping..Hugs...
