CAS Christmas Challenge Christmas Tree

We all have Tree products..the CAS Christmas Challenge is the perfect time
to get out some trees and add more cards to your Christmas Stash:-)

Thank you Colleen for hosting a fun and easy challenge:-)
Love all the awesome samples by the Design Team and Guest Designer!

My 4 1/4" square Christmas Card

I was thrilled to find a piece of alcohol ink on a tag in my stash!
It almost looks like Northern Lights...I think!

I even had the square die cut card front tucked into the Memory Box "Stitched
Circle Trees" Die envelope.

I cut the background from the tag,  which has a shiny surface and so worked with the
alcohol ink.  Attached background to back of die cut card front.

Added Connect Glue to the background,  trees and snow bank and sprinkled
liberally with SU Dazzling Diamond Glitter.

Placed card front in MISTI and stamped the STAMPlorations "Homespun Christmas"
stamp set sentiment using Archival black ink.

Attached card front to SU Whisper White 100# card base and Done!

I think I will be searching my background boxes for more backgrounds:-)
This is an easy CAS design for making multiple Christmas Cards.

Thank you Colleen and CAS Christmas Challenge for helping me make
my Christmas Stash Grow:-)  Hugs...

CAS Mix Up September Embossing with Dies Reminder

Oh my,  already time for our CAS Mix Up September Embossing with Dies Reminder
hosted by the talented Joanna.  Our Design Team and Guest Designer Mac have
wonderful inspiring CAS Card designs to inspire you.

You still have until the 24th to play along.  We would love to
see your creative designs.  Be sure and check out the videos that Joanna
provided on our CAS Mix Up home page.

My Embossed with CUTplorations Christmas Icons: Christmas Tree #2 CAS Card.
I used Embossing with Dies, Stamping, Watercoloring and Washi Tape.
I was so pleased that the design in my head actually turned out:-)

I cut a piece of SU Whisper White 100# CS 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
Added the SU retired Washi Tape 1st.
Next Embossed the middle tree using the Christmas Tree #2 Die.

for my sandwich when I Embossed my die cut Christmas Trees .
The sandwich started at 5:07.  The entire video though is worth viewing.

My sandwich: SU Big Shot Platform,  Clear Plate,  Cardstock with Die
(attach with washi tape),  which I turned over onto the Clear Plate and then added the
thin Blue Silicone mat and White Plate top layer.

Next I put sandwich thru Big Shot.  It feels like there is no pressure
on sandwich,  but remove the sandwich from Big Shot and
you will see the Embossed image.

I added 2 more embossed trees and then had fun watercoloring the middle tree
with Distress Oxide:"Peeled Paint" using glass mat and water brush.

Used MISTI to stamp the STAMPlorations "Homespun Christmas" sentiments.
Added SU Basic Black Cardstock behind main image for a narrow frame.
Popped up main image with White Craft Foam and attached to
5" x 5" card base and Done!

I was very pleased with my CAS Embossed with Die
Christmas Card design.  Always happy to add to my Christmas Card Stash:-)

CAS Christmas Tree Challenge

I love playing in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge each month.
So fun seeing my Christmas Card Stash Grow!
This month the Challenge is A Christmas Tree hosted by the very talented Colleen!

Be sure and check out the Design Team and Guest Designer's beautiful cards!

Here is my positive die cut image of Memory Box "Pine Forest Frame"

I began by using a monoprint stenciled image using Brushos Leaf Green crystals
that I found in my stash.

I had sprinkled the crystals over the ARTplorations Sanna Designs
Christmas Tree 1 stencil,
which I had attached with 3M masking tape to Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
Then spritzed with water to activate the crystals.

I removed the stencil and turned it over onto another piece of MM paper,
placing a paper towel over the stencil and
gently rubbed to get this monoprint Christmas Trees image.

Let image dry and stored away for another day!

I played with a new to me Memory Box "Pine Forest Frame" Dies set to make two
wonderful Christmas Cards.  I used the Positive image for my 1st card by
die cutting the Monoprint Image, which gave me the background of monoprint trees.

Then die cut the tree again with the MM paper to inlay the White Christmas Tree.
This cool die set has the tree plus a smaller tree die
and the frames.  Very versatile.

I popped up the main image with craft foam and added the 2nd frame to Card Base.

************

Here is my 2nd card using the Negative die cut pieces.

I used the 2nd die cut pieces to get the white background and
inlayed the leftover Brushos stenciled pieces from the 1st card.

Popped up with craft foam and attached to MM card base.
Then die cut CUTplorations "Christmas Sentiments Dies" Noel 4 times to
attach 2 stacked layers of Noel to each card.
I did add Nuvo Crystal Drops..to the second card for snow.

I was very pleased with both cards for my Christmas Stash:-)
Here are my cards side by side for comparison!

Thank you Colleen for hosting such a fun and easy Challenge.
We all have plenty of Trees than work for Christmas Trees:-)

Thank you to my dear friend Leslie (Running with Scissors) for making me
buy this awesome MB Die set last year when we played with her set.

I planned to use for my 2020 Christmas cards and now I finally did!
I Love the set Leslie and will be using again:-) Love and Hugs..

CAS Mix Up September Embossing with Dies

Time for the CAS Mix Up September Embossing with Dies Challenge. Our talented Joanna is hosting this month and our Guest Designer,  Mac is back sharing her beautiful

CAS Mixed Media cards.

Joanna has provided us with many wonderful Video's that you can find Here!

I included Embossing with Dies, Stamping and Die Cuts.

I found a Paper Towel Transfer background in my stash that I used for my
stamped images.  Be sure and view Loll's video for the fun technique.

I  had reconstituted Bisters powdered inks with water on my glass mat.
Then wiped up with a paper towel and transferred inks
onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

I stamped the Penny Black "Country
Charisma"  watering can and leaves onto the paper towel transfer background.

I used SU Pretty Peacock Dye ink to stamp the images.  I smeared the wet ink,
so I used a paper towel to softly spread the Pretty Peacock ink on the die cut
watering can and flowers.  Then set them aside.

You can see the Bisters colors showing thru the images
for a cool distressed watercolored look.

This photo shows my Bisters Paper Towel Transfer leftover background.

I die cut the watering can and leaves with the Penny Black
"Country Charisma" Cut Out and set pieces aside.

for my sandwich when I Embossed my die cut watering can and leaves.
The sandwich started at 5:07.  The entire video though is worth viewing.

My sandwich: SU Big Shot Platform,  Clear Plate, Cardstock with Die
(attach with washi tape), which I turned over onto the Clear Plate then added
the thin Blue Silicone mat.

It feels like there is no pressure on sandwich,
but remove sandwich from Big Shot and you will see the Embossed image.

Next I used stylus to shape my die cut images.  Slipped leaves stem thru slit I made
with craft knife and added dimensionals to images and popped up over
part of the Embossed Die Cut images to give a shadow look.

Grounded my images with Washi Tape,  added CRAFTplorations sequins
and Clear Stickers, "Hey Stickers " that I attached to White 100# scrap.

Attached Card Front to Card Base and Done!

There was a learning curve for this Embossing with Dies Challenge,
but should be much easier the next time.
The videos were very helpful...thank you,  Joanna.

You have until the 24th to play along.  Love and Hugs..
