CAS Be Merry EB Resist Watercolour Card

I CASE'd my CAS Watercolour Resist December Reminder Card

Here is my New Watercolour Resist Inlay Christmas Card!

I started by stamping my Penny Black "Adornment" wreath image with SU Whisper White pigment ink onto a square 4 1/8" piece of  Arches Mixed Media paper and heat embossing with SU White EB powder.  That was my Resist.

Next I sprinkled Color Burst powders: Alizarin Crimson and Pthalo Green and then spritzed with water...blotting with a paper towel until I got a lighter shade of background for my watercolouring.

After my background was dry I used Memory Box Stitched Circle dies to cut around the wreath and made a 2nd die cut, that was one size larger for the frame.

I cut a piece of SU W. White thick CS 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" for the card front and die cut with the smaller circle die.  Then cut another piece 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" for my tent fold card base.

The fun part was putting it all together..like a puzzle.  I popped up the card front with foam tape and attached to card base.  Attached die cut frame with my SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and added glue to my wreath image and inlaid inside the frame.

I added my stamped and popped up STAMPlorations "Oh, Christmas Tree" Be Merry sentiment and was done!  Enjoy and Merry Christmas my friends.  Hugs..

CAS Watercolour December Reminder

My CAS Watercolour December Reminder...Watercolour Resist Card.

I had so much fun with this Watercolour Resist Technique.  I Heat Embossed my SU sentiment from "Wondrous Wreath" stamp set using Versamark and SU Cherry Cobbler EB powder.

Then the fun began with my ARTplorations "Holly Background Mini" Stencil.  I placed the mini stencil over a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and sprinkled on Brushos: Leaf Green, Emerald Green and Brilliant Red and spritzed with water.   I loved the effect when I removed the stencil.  I let the piece air dry.

I die cut the image using Memory Box "Stitched Circles" Dies twice.  The smaller piece for the main inlaid image and the larger piece for the stitched frame. I added dimensionals to the framed layer.

I then attached the top layer to a piece of SU Red Glimmer paper using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.  I discovered if I added a generous amount of the glue to the glimmer paper then attach top layer that the CS stuck really well.   I then added more glue to the glimmer paper and inlaid my main stenciled image.

My only embellishment was to add Candy Cane Stickles to the berries.  I Love how my card turned out.  It has a kind of Modern Vintage Look to me!  This was a simple card to make.  I plan on making another version of the same design soon :-)

You still have until December 24th to join the fun at our Clean and Simple Watercolour Challenge. Hope you get to join us...If you need last minute CAS Christmas, Thank You or Happy New Years Cards this is a fun and easy technique.

As always...Gorgeous and Creative Samples from the Design Team, our Guest Designer and the Challenge Gallery!  Happy Holidays my friends.  Hugs....

My card is for a couple more challenges...

CAS Mixed Media December Reminder

Already time for our CAS Mixed Media December Reminder Card.  So many beauties for the month.

Here is my Reminder.....

I used Stamping + Sponging + My choice Emboss Resist, Die Cut and Dry Embossing

Emboss Resist has been a very favorite technique of mine since I first started stamping 15+ years ago.  I inked my Penny Black "Snow Dust" image with Versamark and stamped onto my Memory Box "Stitched Rectangle" die cut piece.  Then I sprinkled with SU Whisper White EB powder and Heat Set the trees and snow.

My next steps included the sponging.  Using a SU craft sponge I sponged in a circular motion from top to bottom...SU Perfect Plum, Pool Party and Soft Sky.  I then sponged Versamark around the edge and heat embossed SU White EB powder for a snowy looking frame.  I then stamped my sentiment with Archival Jet Black ink.

Next using my Big Shot,   I Dry Embossed a card front using SU Whisper White CS and SU "Softly Falling" Embossing Folder.  I mounted my main image onto my background using dimensionals.

This was a fun card to make using a favorite Penny Black Winter Stamp Image..Snow Dust!

You still have until December 24th to join our CAS Mixed Media December Challenge.   Clean and Simple is perfect for the busiest time of the year!  Be sure and check out all the fabulous samples by the Design Team, Guest Designer and Challenge Gallery.  You will be inspired!  Happy Holidays...

CAS Mix Up Sponging Christmas

I liked this Christmas card so much I made Four!

Here is a Close Up showing off all the glitter :-)

I had so much fun sponging over my Memory Box Stitched Circle piece of Arches Mixed Media paper using Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Broken China and Faded Jeans with my Tim Holtz mini sponging tool.  Whew...that was a mouth full!

I then splattered diluted acrylic paint using a #4 paint brush over the circle.  When dry I added SU Fine Tip Glue and SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter to some of the snowflakes.  Set aside to dry.

Next I stamped my pretty tree from STAMPlorations "Oh, Christmas Tree" stamp set and added Gold Stickles and when dry,  fussy cut the image.  I stamped my sentiment from the same set using Archival Jet Black ink and fussy cut, leaving a white border.

I had the SU EB folder "On Point" out for my last card,  so used it again for this card.  I love it because of the trees and the fact it is a CAS design.

It was fun putting all the pieces together.  I attached the circle image and sentiment with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen and the tree with dimensionals to the Dry Embossed card front.  Then attached the card front to my SU Whisper White Thick CS tent fold card base using foam tape for added dimension.

Four more cards for my stash...now back to my baking :-)  Happy Holidays my friends.

Thank you so much for looking and especially for your comments.  Hugs...

CAS Woodland Trees Christmas

I am loving my new Tim Holtz Woodland Trees Dies.  I die cut my trees using an Alcohol Ink background from my stash :-)

I let the trees be the star of my CAS design.  I dry embossed my SU "On Point" EB folder on SU Whisper White Thick CS.  My card base is also WW thick CS.

I used Loll Thompson's "Smooshing with Inks" video tutorial for my Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks background using Juniper and Pesto AI's.

I die cut both trees once with WW CS and once with the Alcohol Inks background and off set the white layers to make the trees look like they were covered with snow.  Attaching with SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.

I attached the dry EB layer to the card front,  attached the trees and the STAMPlorations  "Oh, Christmas Tree" sentiment after stamping with Archival Jet Black ink using MISTI.

I added the SSS Assorted Moonshine sequins and done !  I will probably make a couple more with this design,  since I still have another AI green toned background piece.  I do love going to my stash of backgrounds for quick and fun cards.

I got the idea for the layout from the CTS #200 Sketch

CAS Watercolour December Challenge: Watercolour Resist

The November Watercolour Text Challenge was a huge success.  So many amazing and creative cards linked to our Gallery.  I can't wait to see the cards for Watercolour Resist...a favorite technique by so many talented stampers.

Here is my  Brushos Watercolour Emboss Resist Card.  I love the vintage style of my Christmas Card.

I used my STAMPlorations "Poinsettia Row" clear stamp and MISTI to stamp the image onto Arches 140# Cold Press paper with Versamark and heat embossed with SU White Embossing Powder.  I then spritzed the image and around the image with water and sprinkled on Leaf Green, Scarlet and Brilliant Red Brushos.  I spritzed a little again so the colors would blend more then air dried.  Before totally dry I used a paper towel to rub the Brushos off my heat embossed image.  My image had an ivory vintage look instead of white so I went with SU off white Victoria Lace (ret) to trim the cut down poinsettia panel.  I taped the ribbon to the back of the panel letting just the pretty edge of the lace show.

Next I die cut the card front with the largest (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") of the three CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle nesting Die.  I used my MISTI again to stamp my HLS Mixed Christmas Sentiments "Seasons Greetings" in SU Emerald Envy.

I then attached my panel with foam tape to the card front to pop it up and added 4 Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops..White Blizzard.  I have a little container with pre-made Nuvo drops in 4 different colors and several sizes and attach to cards when needed using my SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Sharing a little trick...when I attach sequins and drops with my glue pen I set a large acrylic block on top and they attach quickly and securely.

I then attached the die cut layer to the SU Very Vanilla card base and voila'...all Done!  I loved the results and hope you like it too.

This month the Design Team and our Amazingly Talented Guest Designer, Deepti-Dee's Art Utopia have so many gorgeous cards to inspire you.   You still have until Dec. 24th to play along with our CAS Watercolour December W/C Resist Challenge.  Do hope you get a chance to play this month.  It is a great technique for your holiday cards.  Hugs.....

All my supplies are listed in my description...enjoy!

CAS Mix Up December Sponging

The CAS Mix Up December Challenge...Stamping + Sponging + Your Choice will be great to use on your last Christmas Cards or any other occasion.

Here is my Christmas Card using Stamping + Sponging + My Choice of Die Cuts and Alcohol Inks Background.

I started my main image by using a piece of a Smooshed Alcohol Ink background using Loll's Tutorial on Smooshing Inks.  I thought it made a pretty Wintery Sky.  I used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks: Sailboat Blue and Juniper.

I used CUTplorations smallest "Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies" to die cut the frame on the main image and largest Die on the card front.

I sponged a piece of Arches Mixed Media paper with Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn and die cut with Sizzix Tree Line Die.  I then attached to my AI die cut background using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Then splattered diluted white acrylic paint using a paint brush.

Stamped my SU Christmas Greetings (ret) sentiment using Archival Jet Black ink. Attached my main image with foam tape and done with another Christmas card for my stash:-)

There are so many gorgeous CAS samples for your Inspiration from the Design Team and our Guest Designer for the month...the very talented Maura aka "Beesmom" from Splitcoaststampers.com.

Hope you get to join us with your Clean and Simple Mixed Media card this month.  Happy Holidays..Hugs
